...The story concerns the disappearance of an expedition and film crew in the depths of unexplored jungle. A rescue expedition finds no survivors , but they do recover the film taken by their doomed predecessors. The sickening contents reveal a terrifying catalogue of life, and horrific death, among the cannibal tribes which still inhabits the jungle. Wow - what an experience it was watching this movie. A total assault on the senses and my own morals "Cannibal Holocaust" is relentlessly brutal, and disturbing with each scene of depravity out-doing the last in terms of shock value. Fed up with the recent wave of sadistic, American slasher movies, we opted for something a little more exotic: the J-horror and Italian horror scenes. ...Cannibal Holocaust is one of the most reviled and infamous horror films of all time. Exploitative, violent, disturbingly gory and morally rather decrepit, it is one of THE original video nasties. A fact that is not so widely known, however, is that the film has a sequel. The 1988 release of Cannibal Holocaust 2 has gone almost completely unnoticed by fans and press alike and now languishes in the annals of dubious online DVD rental companies, keen to pass it off as something it undoubtedly isn't. Yes, indeed, Cannibal Holocaust 2 could (and were it possible should) be prosecuted under the Trade Description Act given that a) it seems rather bereft of cannibals and b) there isn't a holocaust in sight. It is about 3 people ,Sophie, Stingo ( Played by Peter McNicol) a writer and a friend of Sophie, and Nathan Landau ( Played by Kevin Cline) , Sophies Lover,a Jewish holocaust survivor of the Holocaust and they all come together in Brooklyn. Sophie has had to make some tough choices to survive in the past .She is guilt ridden as these memories come flooding into her life time after time.She has made some wrong choices just to save herself and she begins to realise that it was really not worth it. ...The events of the holocaust have always been a subject that has interested me since I was a child, after my mother told me stories about how Germans took Jews into shower blocks and gassed them. I had no idea what a Jew was, and for some reason my mother failed to explain to me the fact that a Jew was a human being, so I decided to find out what one was. I have read books, and seen documentaries about the holocaust, where a narrator would speak of acts of supreme cruelty, with tales of unimaginable suffering and bravery, together with the occasional account of extreme kindness and humanity in an era of extreme unkindness and inhumanity. Maus 2 : And Here My Troubles Began is the sequel to Maus 1: A Survivor's Tale My Father bleeds History, the verysuccessful graphic novel on the Holocaust, winner of the Pulitzer Prize. The author who is also a main character in the story, Art Spiegelman (referred to as Artie) interviews his father, Vladek, a Polish Jew who survived Auschwitz, about his past. Part 1 traces the father's life and loves from the mid- 1930s to the winter of 1944, so we witness the changes gradually brought about to his life as the situation deteriorates in Poland.
