...When my friend came to visit me from Austria, I was a bit stuck on things to do, and places to visit, as I'd never properly explored Nottingham. But of course, we had to see some of the Robin Hood sights! So off I went to the tourist information centre, and picked up every leaflet going (most of which ended up in the bin!). I needed somewhere cheap and easy to get to. Unfortunately Sherwood Forest was out of the question, no car and lack of info on public transport there. Suddenly out of the corner of my eye I spotted a voucher, buy one adult ticket, get one free for the Tales of Robin Hood! We had initially ruled the place out as the entry is a tad expensive, but with this voucher of course we'd go! It's really easy to find, on Maid Marion Way, just off the Market Square. Advantages: Keeps baby warm
Disadvantages: Get a bit small after a couple of months

...I have several hooded towels for my baby boy, Oliver. Some were gifts from family and friends and some were bought along with the weekly shop from Asda. A normal towel will do, but when you have a tiny newborn you might find that normal towels are too big. Also, the transition from the warm water of a bath to the cooler air of the bathroom or nursery can result in baby getting a bit chilly. ...I can`t believe that I am actually sitting here writing an opinion on a cooker hood. What the Smeg can I possibly say that will make anyone out there want to buy a Smeg KSEIV95X cooker hood ? And who the hell would want to put anything in their kitchen with the word SMEG emblazoned across it. The modern homes exhibition will never be the same again. Beautiful fitted kitchens that contain more SMEG than a Thailand brothel. It is a hood, it is made by Smeg, it goes above the cooker and it sucks out all the unwanted fumes that make your nice clean home smell like a backstreet greasy spoon diner. And before anyone asks me, yes, I do get commission for the number of times I include the name SMEG in my op (I wish). lmao. The KSEIV95X cooker hood from Smeg (god, I hate saying that word) is quite simply the Rolls Royce of cooker hoods... Read review

Advantages: look pretty, usually soft
Disadvantages: expensive, small, pretty useless

...I have fallen into the trap of buying hooded towels for both of my children and each time wondering why I bothered. Basically what they are are very small towels, more like hand towels, with an extra triangle shaped piece of towel sown into one corner in order to make a hood. This time I chose a Mothercare pack of three towels in shades of pink and white. This cost me £12, but if you shop around you can find them slightly cheaper at around £3 per towel, or a lot more expensive like toys r us at £9.99 per towel! I was disapointed with the mothercare ones as while in the pack they look quite thick and soft but upon opening you realise that the thickness comes from layers of cardboard wedged in between each towel! They are thin and not exactly rough but they could be softer. The idea is that you put the hood over the babys head... Read review

...I brought a pack of these towels before my baby was born. i think the pack of three cost me about £15. Once my baby was born i was given a gift of normal sofa asda towels which i am still using for my son now and he is nearly a year old. I would not advise anyone to go out and buy a set of towels if they are expecting a baby as you realy do have so much other stuff to purchase. but i do think that the packs make a lovly gift set for a friend or family member who is expecting a baby. the pack that i purchased only lasted about 3 months because as soon as they are old enough to realise that the hood is there they will do everything to get the hood off. also i found that they only stayed soft for about 2 months, after that they went bobbly and very firm. Advantages: Outstanding composition and scoring
Disadvantages: Bit rough around the edges in parts

...Robin Hood Prince of Thieves is a Warner Brothers film starring Kevin Costner as Robin of Locksley and Alan Rickman as an outstanding Sheriff of Nottingham. Also starring in the film are Morgan Freeman, Christian Slater and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio, but the show is stolen in the last few seconds by the arrival of Sean Connery as King Richard. This is a review of the score, so I won't describe the plot here apart from to mention that it contains some rather silly moments. The music was composed by Michael Kamen, who sadly died at the age of only 55 in November 2003. His death was a great loss to the music commuity at large, Kamen having worked with a huge variety of musicians, including Queen, Pink Floyd, Eric Clapton, Metallica and Sting as well as his more classical works. For those of you who are interested in that kind of thing...
