The Invisible Man - A classic!
Advantages: Brilliant special effects, very good storyline and well casted
Disadvantages: Sometimes predictable
...As far as classic thrillers go, this one has to be one of the best. Made in 1933 when horror was just becoming popular, James Whale directs a masterpiece original using special effects never seen before (and invisible man! something editing had never seen before!).
Claude Rains does a fantastic job as Jack Griffin, a psychotic scientist driven on a rampage as he searches for the cure to his invisibility. Casting of this film is fantastic, with Gloria Stewart starring along side Rains as Jack's girlfriend, aiding the police in the capture of Jack before he kills again and causes even more mayhem!
Anyone who has read H.G Wells book, which is where the film is adapted from, will know the similiarities, and how Whale has included as much as the original text as possible, and succeeded in it brilliantly!
This film is great for almost...

The Invisible Bastard.
Advantages: After reading it you can read other, more exciting books! Not by H.G Wells!
Disadvantages: Its just really slow and monotonous, and dry like Jacobs crackers.
...Overview
The original tale of the invisible man: A mysterious long-coated spectre strides into a rural English village, an experiment that works all too well, low mutterings about the new stranger in town. Yes its dark, portentuous territory we're in as H.G. wells spins yet another cautionary yarn about the potential dangers of progressive science, as well as his customary delve, deep into the misty depths of the human psyche. Or, a little book about a man that makes himself invisible. And then goes mad.
Review
We've all seen films about The invisible man or some invisible man or another. At some point or another everyone has wondered what it would be like, such is the degree to which the idea of invisibility has burned itself indellibly into our culture, and it all came from this book. But did you know that the actual invisible man...

The invisible man
Advantages: good film
Disadvantages: none
...Kensington –played by Josh Brolin), is astounded when he tells her about the reverse effect formula. Now all they had to do was try it on a human.
They meet at the laboratory, where they quickly get to work on the amazing reverse serum. Once formulated, they get the ape tied down, and inject the serum into her vein. After a while and a lot of anxiety the serum has proved successful. Sebastian volunteers to be the human guinea pig, and they soon prepare him for his injection of the vanishing serum.
The serum works, and he is now invisible. But being invisible has also turned him into a mad man. He first fondles the of a sleeping colleague. Then he rigs the camera set up to monitor him, so it plays looped, and appears like he is there, and ventures out into his ‘play world’. He starts by raping the woman in the flat...

...than 25 film.
Bud Alexander (Abbott) and Lou Francis (Costello) have just passed their exams to qualify as detectives and are given an address by the school to go and get a trial job with a PI (private investigator). While in the empty office at the address, waiting for someone to turn up a stranger walks in. Tommy Nelson is a prize fighter accused of murdering his manager who wants the duo to investigate and prove his innocence.
With the Police after him Nelson needs more than the guys to help him though. He visits his girlfriends place and tries to persuade her uncle to use the invisibility serum he has reconstructed from a formula created by Griffin (HG Wells Invisible Man). Once he is invisible he comes up with the plan of getting Lou to become a boxer so that the three of them can get close to the people he thinks really committed...

Invisible? So was the acting...
Advantages: Possesses loads of potential.
Disadvantages: Terrible acting and character developement.
...-of-control teenager who thinks he crossed her, Nick experiences an out-of-body moment that will last only as long as his body continues to live.
Unable to communicate with anyone, he wanders listlessly at first, not knowing exactly what has happened to him... but when he realizes that he isn't dead, time starts ticking away and he must attempt to be found before it's too late. Unfortunately, his attempts at being seen or heard fail, and his situation appears hopeless - until he realises that the girl who attempted to kill him can hear him. She is his only hope...
'The Invisible', from the very start, possesses loads of potential - however, the writers, director and actors have totally destroyed what could have been an extremely entertaining movie.
First of all, Margarita Levieva, who plays Annie Newton, is possibly the worst actress I have ever...

Is there anybody there?
Advantages: Very funny
Disadvantages: Nothing
...Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man.
The Boys:
=
Bud Abbott was born in1895 in New Jersey, USA. Surprisingly Lou Costello was born 1906 also in New Jersey, USA. They had both toured in 'Burlesque' but had only limited success until teaming up in 1936. But it wasn't until 1940 until they where signed by 'Universal' and went on to make their first movie 'Night in the Tropics'. By 1950 there Star was starting to fade.
Also, not all was well between the boys, as at times throughout their career together, Bud had a 60/40 split on their earnings and this had always irked Lou. Later it would surface and eventually along with the drinking and gambling AND being chased by huge Tax bills, they eventually split in 1957.
Sadly Lou Costello died 2 years later in 1959. Bud Abbott however...

How invisible can one get?
Advantages: Well written, educational, inspiring, funny
Disadvantages: Can be rather depressing
...Another one of my problems with books is that the ones I tend to pick up are the stupidly depressing ones, 'A Boy Named It', 'Sickened', 'Don't Tell Mummy', the list is endless?and one of the more recent ones is this one - 'The Invisible Girl'. To give credit it is written in such a way that it doesn't seem depressing a lot of the time, but you cannot say that the basic story is in any way, shape or form a happy one. It is not however the same as the books mentioned above, because it is not written by the main person who the book is about, it cannot be said to be a quick buck for someone jumping on the gravy train and writing about their traumatic past. The book is written by Debbie Barham's father, and the reason for this alone is simple, the book starts with Debbie's death from anorexia on Easter Monday 2003.

I'm the INVISIBLE WOMAN! (with Dove). . .
Advantages: Very effective, fewer white marks and will moisturise your underarms.
Disadvantages: You have to wait to let it dry!
...of body sprays.
Dove . . . Invisible dry (anti white marks)
I?ve been using Dove?s products for many years now; there are a very reliable product that does the job perfectly with good affordable prices. Trying to be more creative Dove have introduced a new range of antiperspirant deodorants, changed the typical shape of the bottle and even introduced new fragrances along with the original fragrance.
The new range contains silk-dry; go fresh cool water lily; go fresh touch; and a lot more! I used most of them but I was most impressed with Dove invisible dry (anti white marks) for many reasons.
Dove?s Invisible Dry Deodorant and their motto: fewer white marks, beautiful results!
The bottle
The container has changed recently to something more sophisticated, or maybe not depending on how you can see it...

Hats Off to Herbert!
Advantages: Ahead of its time in some respects...
Disadvantages: And downright feudal in others...
...H G Wells is the man popularly credited with having created science-fiction and, frankly, his supporters are viciferous enough that no one's ever really bothered to point out that, never mind Jules Verne, what about Frankenstein?
In any case, there's no doubt that Herbert got in early, producing novels looking at the science-fiction staples of alien invasion, time travel and space travel. Talk about cornering the market.
The Invisible Man is one of those books that people don't read but think they know. They've seen the film, the stage play, the various reworkings of the story, and possibly had to read a few extracts at school. The everyday tale of an albino scientist turning himself invisible and then going on a rampage of destruction across rural Sussex, The Invisible Man comes across sometimes as a cautionary tale about power...
