New Jersey indie-punks The Static Jacks are set to unleash their debut album ‘If You’re Young’ in the UK through Fearless Records on March 5th. This release will be preceded by a full UK tour beginning February 15th including dates with The Wombats.Recorded and produced with Chris Shaw (Ted Leo and the Pharmacists Bad Brains) ‘If You’re Young’ is a hard-edged and riotous album showcasing the band’s relentless energy from track one with the infectious ‘Defend Rosie’. Previous double A-side single tracks ‘Into The Sun’ and ‘Mercy Hallelujah’ prove The Static Jacks’ penchant of crafting undeniably infectious choruses; a staple trait in each track on the album. From sing-a-long anthem ‘Blood Pressure’ to the irrepressible closing track ‘Drano-Ears’ singer Ian Devaney’s gravelly tones create an urgency to their sound without compromising the melodies which make ‘If You’re Young’ stand out against indie-rocks crowded field. The Static Jacks have already made a huge impact in the US having already toured with bands including Biffy Clyro Tapes ‘n Tapes Howler and Titus Andronicus. Their forthcoming UK tour looks set to continue their growing reputation as one of New Jersey’s most exciting live bands taking in venues across the country. A unique blend of punk garage and soul influences from both sides of the Atlantic has seen The Static Jacks shun fickle trends in favor of forging their own path. The band have already started making waves with a series of gigs in the UK to support 7” single ‘Into the Sun’/’Mercy Hallelujah’ in late 2011 and are primed to make 2012 their year.
