...Two years ago, I had finally managed to pick all the blackcurrants from the bushes in my front garden! It was a backbreaking job to "top and tail" all the blackcurrants - it was a bumper crop for five bushes. Some were so small that the berries were almost the same size as the tail… Anyhow, the best use for mini blackcurrants is jam, and the best way to make jam is in the microwave. The benefits of making the jam in the microwave include: … No metallic taste from boiling in a metal preserving pan; … No slaving over a massive pan on the cooker; … No constant stirring; … No trying to keep the jam from burning on the stove or boiling over; … No trying to wash up an oversized pan in an undersized sink; … Full, intense flavour, with less sugar required to set. Advantages: Better than some straswberry jams

...As a treat this weekend I made some scones, nothing nicer than freshly baked scones strawberry jam and cream. Problem uh huhh I had no strawberry jam in the cupboard, no cream either but I did expect to find no cream. I went to our local shop only 3 minutes walk away. I bought some cream and looked at the range of jams, no choice really only one type of strawberry jams Hartley's. So I bought the jam it cost me£1.14p... Now Hartley's is an ok brand of jam usually fairly good. Hartley's jam is now part of the large premier food brand and available in a lot of stores. The jam I bought was their best their Best everyday jam .This jam comes in quite an attractive shaped jar. with a red strawberry designed label with the Hartleys logo and Best srawberry jam written on it. Advantages: Easy, Fun and compelling
Disadvantages: Not a true Tony Hawk game, might get overlooked

Advantages: Strawberry jam and Blackcurrant jam.

...My favorite is Strawberry but bothof them are yummy on toast. Strawberries are at their best and cheapest during summer. Strawberry Jam Yields: About 5lb/2 kg jam, Preparation time: 20 minutes Cooking time: about 1 hour. YOU WILL NEED. 3 and a half ib/1.5kg strawberries, 2 Lemons 3lb/1.25 kg white sugar. Hull the strawberries and place them in a cooking pan with the lemon juice,and the lemon rind and pith tied in a muslin bag. Heat very gently, stirring, until the juice begins torun. Simmer until the fruit is tender and the contents of the pan reduced. Add the sugar, stir until dissolved. Boil rapidly until setting point is reached*(see below for details). ...We went blackberry picking on Saturday as we are fortunate enough to have quite a few areas of unspoiled (ie not near a road) blackberry bushes around here. After making several batches of blackberry jam (my preserving pan is very old and has been inherited and can only cope with 1kg of fruit - slightly annoying), I had 450g of blackberries left over. I was about to freeze them as I wouldn't have had enough to make a whole 2lb jar and the only small jar I had left would have been too small and then I remembered the punnet of blueberries I had in my fridge so thought that I would combine the two fruits and try out a black and blue jam. The recipe is simple and to be honest I think I hit on the right balance of the fruit straight away - 60% blackberry and 40% blueberry but you are more than welcome to try another combination... ...I can't help but be dissapointed with Pearl Jam by this album. As a huge fan, perhaps I expected a little too much from this self titled album (known to fans as 'Avocado'). OK, its not true to say there are no good songs on the album. 'World Wide Sucide' and 'Umemployable' are catchy almost poppy songs that get the crowd going but apart from these two I feel the album lacks inspiration. Songs like 'Marker in the Sand' make you wonder where Pearl Jam are headed, while the lyrics in all tracks are tiresomely political. On the music side of things, this is the shortest review i've ever written, but thats how this album leaves me - with little to remark upon. It just seems extremely average. The pack the cd comes in isnt exactly inspiring either, while the booklet with the song lyrics in for some reason smells foul... Read review

...I am a big fan of trying economy versions of various foods as quite often there is no real different in taste and only in the quality of the packaging. The latest product for us to try was Sainsbury’s Low price mixed fruit jam. We have tried quite a lot of Sainsbury’s economy range with mixed results. Their economy range is certainly cheap but often lacking in taste. As with all their economy range you have to search well to find it as it is normally hidden in the dark corner of a shelf while the other more expensive brands try and tempt you. All their economy range is white, blue and red and basically not attractive to the eye. I presume as it is so cheap they do not want to pay someone a lot of money to individually design each packaging label. The jam comes in a glass jar and comes in one size of 454grams at 35p. ...Bonne Maman jam. It’s a sunny summer’s Sunday afternoon let me invite you to an afternoon tea. We are sitting in the garden I am serving cups of hot tea freshly brewed and scones with cream and lashings of bonne maman strawberry jam, There is cricket playing on the village green you can just hear the sound of ball against wood. The scones are home made crumbly and tasting of butter. The jam a jar of bonne Maman Strawberry jam. The jam is a lovely red colour full of huge real whole strawberries in it. It is quite sweet but very strawberry tasting perfect to put on a scone or in a sandwich on fresh bread. No need to put it in a jam dish as it comes quite attractively packed in a jam jar with fluted edges with a red and white gingham checked lid, real country style. ...I love almost all kind of biscuits from Fox's and I often buy them. I enjoy cream biscuits so often I buy their crunchy sandwiches with delicious cream inside but sometime go for chocolatey and other products too. In fact I am a biscuit lover-eager to eat one whenever I get the packet handy and feel hungry. When its Fox's Jam Cream-I eat one by one and suddenly find its all gone!!! We are buying at least 6 packs a week now, in our 2-members family. Its I think, a bit of too many.
