...Easter holidays come with the added pressure of keeping your children occupied. One obvious ploy is to take ‘em to the flicks so it was with a spring in my step and a song I my heart that I hurled the kids into the car and, nay, flew to my local UCG to catch Jungle Book 2. I did have the concern that I really don’t like sequels though. Inevitably, they are re-hashed workings of the original with pretty much the same story made solely to generate more greenbacks for the film studio concerned. But surely Disney wouldn’t disappoint? ...The tiger, the panther, the snake and the orang-utan may be the best animated animals the screen has seen - and the bear isn't bad, either. In a way it's the last great fling of Disney's old veteran animators. (Most of them were still some distance from retirement, but never again did they fire so magnificently, all at once.) Anyone who appreciates fine character animation HAS to see this. Despite the rough outlines favoured by Wolfgang Reitherman (he presided over some extreme cheese-paring after Walt Disney's death), there's also a sumptuous feel to this film, at least while they stay in the jungle. The lack of a story is a problem. "Flabby" is the word that comes to mind. It's really just the story of Baloo and Mowgli bumming around in the jungle. Now and then something happens. ...are based around Mowgli, Baloo Bear and the other Jungle Book creatures as children, getting up to what children get up to best . . . mischief. The plots are fast, funny and well written, the scripts are witty to the extent that adults will enjoy some of the conversations between characters, and the animation usual Disney fair. So what is wrong with this programme. It is that it is not original. Yes, I have already said it is new, but there is no originality within the newness. My nephew put it best when he said he liked this programme becuase it was like watching the jungle book bit by bit. To me that is a bad point. The Jungle Book film should have been the seeds for a series which entertains, but moreover teaches, the children something. Not just rakes over old coals. ...This is a really good story about some animals who live in the jungle and who plan to keep safe from all man that may be about. But one day a young baby was left in the river and so he became to be brought up by the animals in the jungle as they were too nice just to abandon him and leave him to die. So he grows up as just another animal in the jungle and has loads of fun and happy times with all of the friends that he makes with all different kinds of animals. Apart from he has to be careful about some of the animals which are out to kill any humans that they may find no matter who they are. But he manages to get protected by them all but the animals realise that he must go back to the home where all of the humans live but he doesnt want to and hesitates along the way. ...It has to be said that this book is a firm favourite with the Nursery and Reception children at my school and you can guarantee some happy faces when this is the chosen book for that 'spare' five minutes. ~ The Book ~ In short, the book invites children to enter the jungle and meet the animals that live there. It begins with: 'There's a rumble in the jungle, There's a whisper in the leaves, The animals are waking up And rustling the leaves. Advantages: Cheaper than the high street stores (when concerned with printers), easy to surf the Jungle.com site, excellent & very helpful customer services and reasonable and reliable delivery times.
Disadvantages: Slightly more expensive than Dabs (£1-2)

...they sent me a cheque for £9.99 instead of giving me the Smackdown! 2 book I wanted. They didn’t even leave me an explanation why. I e-mailed them back and after 2 weeks still no reply. I phoned up their help line and they refused to help me. In the end I went out and brought the book for £9.99 which was the same price as on Jungle and it saved me a lot more hassle. I should have done it in the first place. Good Points about Jungle.com ---------------------------------- Tough part of the opinion this is but I’ll try and put as much down as there is to.
