...Here is my daily rant against something during my stressful period. Enjoy Key skills gets a lot of jip from A level students. Many believe it is pointless and there is no use in having it. But I aim to give a few reasons why you should have them! For people who excel in their A level subjects with straight A’s, I will admit, they are of less value. There are also subject combinations which will far exceed the skills in key skills. But to these people I question: Why not do it anyway? It’s just another hour exam (per skill) and it proves that you can. If you are really that intelligent, how come you can’t pass a key skills exam? Can i point out that this is NOT the same as general studies. General studies shows that you have a general grasp of information. ...KEY WEST We have a share-ownership home (15 members) in Weeki Wachee, on the Gulf Coast of Florida, where we stay for four weeks every year. Soon after our arrival, out come the maps and we decide where we would like to go. As we have been going for nine years, we have covered quite a lot of the Sunshine State, but never visited Key West. It is a fair distance (around 500 miles from our home) so we set off early, heading down the west coast past Tampa towards Naples. Here we had a bite to eat before making our way eastwards to Everglade City in the Alligator Alley area. At the entrance to the city (some city – one restaurant, a church and a scattering of houses) we were confronted by a signpost saying “The Last Frontier.” Quaint. Advantages: The weather, the nature, the experience
Disadvantages: One road in ....one road out...

...I found this place absolutely stunning. WIth views to die for and the weather that one would certainly expect coming from the cold UK. I visited The Keys over the Christmas period and I knew that it was going to be warm, but it must have been at least 80 degrees! We were there for 10 days and we did not see an ounce of cloud or rain throughout the entire holiday. The night life in Key West is amazing, there are bars upon bars all selling the reknown Key Lime Pie...which i must say...was gorgeous! Each bar has their own musician or band and they do a cycle of the town. Each night they play at another bar, so if you find a musician you like you can follow them around but on the other hand if you find a bar you like you can stay there and taste the fusion of different styles. Advantages: beautiful scenery, plenty of things to do, friendly people

...I recently rented a car in Miami with a friend of mine and we drove down to Key West. It was altogether a wonderful experience! First, the drive itself is extremely scenic: 200 miles of water, bridges, mangroves, birds and blue blue sky until you get to Key West, the farthest point south of the entire continental US. Once you get there, options abound: You can either be really lazy, and just lie on the beach all day. Last week it was in the 80s and dry, and there were not many people as many Americans are not traveling anywhere at the moment. If you are more actively inclined you can sail, swim, snorkel, scuba, surf, parasail, etc etc. Any watersport, it is there. If you like to stay on land, there are a lot of possibilities as well.
