The plot : Kate (Meg Ryan, who else in a rom-com?) is a modern New-Yorker with a wardrobe full of high-necked Prada blouses and black collarless suits (sorry, I'm a fashion student, I notice these things) and an assistant played by that promiscous girl from American Pie (Natasha Lyonne). Her ex, Stuart, is a bit of a live-wire who tries to convince her he's found a hole in the fabric of time. As you do. This would be completely unbelievable, had his latest jaunt not resulted in his being followed back to the present day by Leopold, an English Duke from 1876 played by some Aussie actor whose name slips my mind. Ok, played by Hugh Jackman. Much chaos results, with a little fish-out-of-water comedy...

King Leopolds Ghost

Advantages: Everyone with any sense of humanity should read this book.
Disadvantages: It can be difficult to ahndle some of the eye witness accounts.

I did enjoy it, but if you are male or want to watch something a bit more stimulating you won?t be too impressed with it. I thought it tried to be a bit like a modern fairy tale, but didn?t quite work and just ended up being fluffy. ...The Plot = Kate McKay (Meg Ryan) is a top executive at a New York public relations firm. Stuart (Liev Schreiber) is Kate's annoying ex who lives in the apartment upstairs. He discovers the secret to time travel and goes back to 1876 to see what it was like. Chivalry ain't dead, if you find the right man

Advantages: Has its funny moments and its very romantic
Disadvantages: Predictable, tacky and very conventional.

...What do you get when you mixed the likable but somewhat lagging Meg Ryan and the one dimensional but strong Hugh Jackman? Well you have "Kate and Leopold" but of course. This is a somewhat enjoyable but very tacky romantic comedy with a somewhat absurd script and story, that is saved (to a point) by it's two characters who become lovers and whose love stand the test of time. I like some of the angles the pictures. The use of "reincarnation" and find your soulmate it what the heart of this movie is about amist the somewhat tacky and predicable comedy routines. Jackman plays the 1876 Duke of Albany , New York (if there is one), who gets kidnapped (for scientific research of course. lol) by an aspiring inventor/pianist/bad boyfriend named Stuart Besser played by Lieiv Schreiber. ...I must admit that I didn't really rush to go to see this flick, but at the urging of a friend I decided I had nothing better to do one Friday evening and went. We were in for a surprise.... Leopold, the Duke of Albany (Hugh Jackman), lives a life of privilege in 1876 until the night when he spies a stranger in his uncle's house. ...Having never been a huge Meg Ryan fan it was with some trepadation that I sat to watch the preview video for this film. My husband is a video rep and wanted a girls opinion! The film is a typical romance story, boy meets girl, both like each other but dont want to admit it, both admit it then fall out and split, both regret falling out get together and kiss and make up. However the premise in this film is slightly different, Hugh Jackman plays Duke Leopold the inventor of the elevator, who manages to travel through time to modern day following a mysterious stranger(Liev Schrieber from Scream 3).
