The King of theatre! Lion King at the Lyceum 2007

Advantages: An experience you'll never forget (this will be a long review!)
Disadvantages: I wanted to cry half the time the music was so moving.

...I had my first experience of this musical when I saw a clip of it on a royal variety performance, I was desperate to see it since then. I recieved my tickets to The Lion King musical as a christmas gift this year, my mum and sisters had seen it previously and had decided we would all go together. I know the show has already recieved 27 Chio reviews but i had the most amazing time and cannot get the show out of my head, it deserves all the reviews people can give. I thoroughly enjoyed this show and am passionate about it, i have so much i could say and feel i must warn you this will be a LONG review. Get out while you can, scan through the bits that interest you or just go for it and read the lot! (Lion) King of Disney

Advantages: Everything is good
Disadvantages: Nothing is bad

...The Lion King is the 1994 offering from Disney, and is widely regarded as the best of the more modern Disney films. Advantages: graphics and sound were good
Disadvantages: nothing major just could be a bit tricky of young kids

...Quick over view of story Simba newly born cub to be king of pride rock one day, his uncle Scar has other plans with the hyenas he manages to kill simba's dad and scares simba into running away. Simba returns to pride rock once he is a grow up lion and takes his place at pride rock by defeated his uncle not has easy in the game thought. :) The game In this game you play as Simba, you start as a cub at pride rock having to climb a few rocks and beat a hyena this is tougher then it sounds you get lizards spitting and the hyena is tricky but not too hard. Advantages: great animation, good music, 5 discs

...There is a number of disney films that I enjoy watching very much, to test this I watch them all and repeat it. The test shows my film of favourite was the lion king. My review here is not written with a corner off of one film but all 3 lion king films. It is without any trouble that I will thus tell you that the films are of a fantastic dimension. Nevertheless the idea of having lions in a film along with nature; will give you a pleasant change from watching humans. Advantages: Stunning, ingenious costumes and visuals, classic musical numbers well-performed.
Disadvantages: New songs and scenes are noticeably weaker.

The Lion King at the Lyceum a super duper time.

Advantages: An enjoyable evening in London
Disadvantages: None

...I went to see the Lion King at the Lyceum last week 3rd January 2008. It was an amazing experience and I would recommend it as a musical to watch for all people and ages. The story is the same as the film with couple of extra songs and lines added in. A true fan of the films can still say all the lines along with the musical. The performance was amazing with the performers using their costumes and props to their advantage. The effect of getting so many animals on stage with few cast members was amazing. The music is live and you can see the percussionsection in the boxes at the side of the stage. The musical made you feel involved as the performers came through the audiance and also stood in the boxes. It is especially noticiable at the start of the second act. The Ultimate Family Theatre Experience

Advantages: Wonderful music, costumes, great un-Disneyfied adaptation

...I first saw The Lion King in the West End when it opened in 1999 and was very dubious about how well it would transfer from the screen to the stage. However, as soon as the curtain went up, all of my expectations were blown away. The Lion King is the perfect family show and it's easy to see why it still plays to sell out audiences now and why it was both mine and my sister's top choice to see on our recent trip to New York, despite having seen it only a few months before in the West End. The Lion King plays in New York at the Minkskoff Theatre just off of Times Square. Sadly, due to its wide appeal and popularity, tickets aren't cheap and are not easy to get hold of - we paid about $100 each for our seats in the orchestra stalls and definitely book well in advance (don't wait until you arrive in New York!) as shows tend to sell out...
