...The Living Room Manchester What is it? The Living Room is a luxurious bar and restaurant located in the heart of Manchester on trendy Deansgate in a great location for shopping and nights out. There are lots of other bars and restaurants surrounding the Living Room (including places such as Est, Est, Est, Pizza Express, Cafe Rouge etc) and it is only five + minutes walk away from Victoria train station. What's there? As you enter on the ground floor you are in the bar area which is known as the living room. Here you can eat during the day (you can also opt to eat upstairs in the dining room, but you tend to need to book more often than not to eat upstairs) as well as enjoy the wide range of drinks and the great coffee (I love the cappuccino here). ...Having been reccomended The Living Room as a place to eat I booked my work christmas lunch at The Living Room in Piccadilly (Heddon Street). There was a set menu for pre-bookings which was £35 per head for a three course. We did not have to book in advance just pay £5 per head deposit (which is then taken off the bill). We arrived on time and were seated straight away upstairs. We had a table that was plenty big enough for our party of 8 (although one person couldn\'t come at the last minute). The menu looked fantastic is was hard to decide what to choose. In each of the starter and main options there was two meat, a fish and a vegetarian option. Starters: Butternut squash soup, muchroom ravioli and rissotto, pork roulade or smoked salmon. Mains: Traditional Turkey, 7hr braised beef, Seabass or baked goats cheese. Deserts... Read review

...I bought Cece Winans Live in Throne room DVD and enjoyed it thoroughly. It was a wonderful experience watching and being part of the concert. The stage was beautiful, with soft flowing curtains, super lighting, great direction, a mix of wide shots, side shots, walk-around shots, over audience shots, and many stunning close-up shots. Very well done. It also offers entertaining and insightful behind the scenes bonus clips. The dancers led by her son Alvin Love, were on top form, very energetic showing what exuberant praise in dance is all about. Cece was at her best. She looked absolutely beautiful in her three outfits, she started with a brownish trouser suit, then a creamish skirt suit that made her look angelic and then a white trouser suit. Her hair and makeup were flawless. She did mention in one of her interviews... Read review

...I knew what to expect with Panic Room, partly because of the title and partly because of it’s director. The title kinda gives it away though, it’s going to be something about a Panic Room obviously! But the director, oh what to expect from him....the creator of Seven, The Game and Fight Club. Well Seven was dark and gruesome, but I absolutely loved it, The Game was again dark, but also weird and inviting and Fight club again was dark and also gruesome, but with an excellent, intellectual twist in the plot. I have liked all of these films, so why should this one be any different. To tell you the truth, I was really looking forward to seeing this movie well before it had been released. Who is the director? David Fincher of course. Not all that well known unless you know your movies or have watched one of the movies named... Read review

...there is a large number of people who detest the banality of it. Therefore I feel it is my moral duty, to send daytime television into room 101. 8. THE WEATHER Or to be more precise the television weather forecasts. I live in an area of Britain that according to the television can go from snow, to bright sunshine and then back to snow in the space of half an hour with maybe a hurricane thrown in for good measure. For some reason the forecasters are unable to say what the weather will be, so to cover themselves they tell you that over the next 24 hours you will PROBABLY have every different type of weather going. Maybe it's just the region I live in that causes them so many problems, but it's darn annoying as you can't rely on any form of weather prediction, except the seaweed nailed to the wall. ..., presumably already in Room 101, the target needs honing a little. So, who can disagree that concert flyers that appear everytime a couple of students find inspiration, a room for hire, a bit of photocopying and a pot of glue, and appear *all over* one's town more's the point, aren't completely annoying? No-one is interested, no-one learns anything by them (or theediscerning didn't when he was a student, at least), no-one takes them home with them after the event. Theediscerning likes to keep himself clean-shaven, but there always was a time of year when he let his beard grow for at least a week. This was when he lived in an area that meant he had to walk through a university campus to get to his town centre. The reason he wished to look hairier, and thus older? Fresher's week. Yes, the ridiculous amount of junk handed out to all passing... Read review

..., This book was published in 1960 and was set sometime in the 1950s.The plot tells the story of a young single woman Jane Graham who is turned out of her comfortable middle class home by her shocked father after telling him she is pregnant. The L shaped room refers to the dingy room at the top of a very shabby verminous house that Jane retreats to, to wallow in her miseries. The story follows Jane through her pregnancy and her journey to self realisation and fulfillment. There is Toby a Jewish writer trying to make his break, Mavis a cockney ex seamstress for a theatre company, John a black guitarists, Doris Jane’s witch of a landlady and Jane and Sonia the two prostitutes that live in the basement. Jane who is also the narrator is a likable enough girl although prone to bouts of self pity I did feel very sorry for her due to her unplanned... Read review

...Panic Room Panic Room is the story of a mother and daughter who moved into a huge brand new A three floor house with CCTV in every room, a lift, and a panic room. Wow how amazing. Now, their first night in the house they end up getting broken into by three men who are after a certain something in the house. And the three men thought the house was empty so they broke in - but when they found out there was someone living in the house, 2 of the 3 men set out to kill them, just so they could get what they were after. The noise of the men in the house woke the mother, so she checked out the CCTV to find the men wandering about her house, but when she tries to escape the men chase her up the stairs. She runs for her daughter in the top floor then gets the lift back down, and they end up hiding in the panic room, where they can get... Read review

..., usually sending peas flying across the table. And then there's the thick sliver of fat down one side, and the grizzy bit at the end which just doesn't seem to want to come off. And what is it all for? Once I manage to get a bite-sized piece off, I am not exactly rewarded with the most satisfying taste. They are a bit bland and I never seem to get all the grizzly bits off. Give me a steak any day, at least the taste is worth the effort. They are going to Room 101 because I just can't be bothered. 6. Things With More Than Four Legs ie, insects and creepy crawlies of all kinds, esspecially the Dreaded Spider. I am not going to dwell on the Dreaded Spider for too long though, I don't think I can handle it. I just hate all of these creatures. I know it sounds harsh, and every living thing is beautiful, and they are more scared of me than I am... Read review
