What an experience

Advantages: Absolutely fascinating
Disadvantages: A bit expensive

...Tower Bridge is the most easterly of the main London bridges and the best way to reach it is via the London Underground. The nearest stop is Tower Hill, which is on the Circle and District lines and is next to Tower Gateway on the Docklands Light Railway. The area around the Tower and Tower Bridge is also one of the stops used by all the London tour buses, so this would be another convenient way of getting there. I have often seen Tower Bridge when we have visited London and have even seen it open to let ships through, but had never actually been inside until last year. The Tower Bridge Experience as the tour is called has only been open for a relatively short while so we decided that it was time to pay a proper visit to one of London’s best loved monuments. The cost of the tour is £6.25 for adults and £4...

LONDON BRIDGE IS FALLING DOWN

Advantages: -
Disadvantages: -

...step ahead of Cross and the FBI there was a feeling of inevitability that he would not be captured and stopped in time. Maybe, just maybe though, the Wolfs penchant for blowing up famous bridges might just prove to be his undoing. ?People ought to feel comfortable going about their lives, knowing that their government is doing everything humanly possible to disrupt any potential activity that the evil ones may try to inflict upon us.? London Bridges marks the seventh outing for Alex Cross and our hero has still got what it takes to keep the reader turning the pages in eager anticipation. The beauty of this book is that it can be picked up and enjoyed either by a die hard fan of James Patterson?s Alex Cross series or a complete newcomer to the collection, there is just the right level of information at the beginning of the book to...

London Bridge Is Standing Strong In America

Advantages: Beautiful area, lovely to stroll around
Disadvantages: None

...***Background*** Having left the Wild West town of Oatman, we headed down the old route 66 until it joined on to Route 95. This was a beautiful section of road and we thoroughly enjoyed this historic road especially as it took us past the lovely Topock Bay. Turning on to London Bridge Road just past Lake Havasu Airport is the best road into this lovely town, as it takes you right down the lakeside and gives you a chance to explore this area a little bit before heading into the main attraction of London Bridge. Lake Havasu City is in Arizona but only around 5 miles from the Californian Border. The Lake is part of the Colorado River although this section was much prettier than the muddy waters that we had seen around the Canyon area. The Lake was formed when Parker Dam was built in the 1930's and is a haven for wildlife around...

London Bridges

Advantages: Quick and easy read
Disadvantages: Disappointing and abrupt end

...?s home. To prevent the bombings and murders Alex and the FBI must pay an improbable amount somewhat over a billion dollars and release a number of political prisoners, if that wasn?t bad enough to prove that he is serious, the Wolf engineers the annihilation of a small desert town, evacuating first to prevent casualties. When this doesn?t get the point across, he blows up the Queensboro Bridge in New York and a bridge in Paris. Like any Cross novel the story follows the case and Alex as he chases numerous leads to a dead end, with numerous partners from the United States and various other countries, he desperately works to find the Wolf before their deadline expires and thousand of people die. With the incredibly short chapters (very few are over two pages) and simplistic writing, the book is a quick and easy read, like any Patterson novel...

Review of London Bridges - James Patterson

London Bridges by James Patterson

Advantages: Alex Cross genre
Disadvantages: no disadvantages

...London Bridges by James Patterson is a novel featuring Alex Cross as an FBI agent. This is one of many of James Patterson's characters and he is teamed once again in the book with the Wolf and Weasel characters. The story really begins with the evacuation of a town in Middle America and the town then being exploded apart by the character of the Wolf with assistance from the Weasel. There is then a meeting involving the FBI, CIA, Homeland Security, etc to find out what happened. The Wolf who tells them that he is holding them to ransom, along with Britain, France and anyone else he feels like it contacts them. Thus begins the story of London Bridges, not a fast paced novel but a moving novel all the same. It leads you on twists and turns in America, Britain and France chasing after the Wolf and his associates to prevent...

London Bridge is falling down

Advantages: Still has talent even if he doesn't always show it
Disadvantages: Clearly some tracks not worth listening to

...Kano, born Kane Brett Robinson, returns for his second album and the follow up to 2005's 'Home Sweet Home' with 'London Town'. Born on the 21st May 1985, Kano is another British star that brought grime to the masses along with Dizzee Rascal, and with that Kano has became the second biggest star for his genre, however being a big star in his specific area has its downfalls as people are more critical of his work and are likely to be more drawn to the independant artists, a tag that Kano can no longer carry with his larger budget. Featuring twelve tracks, it is reasonable to expect that there shall be some standout tracks that just need to be released as singles. So far the only named single from London Town is 'This is the Girl' featuring Craig David. Hearing this before hearing the rest of the album, I thought Kano was going to hit...

The London experience

Advantages: Fun - lots to do and lots to see
Disadvantages: Requires stamina

...experience is that it's either in the middle of a heatwave, so thank goodness for the shade of the trees in Hyde Park or Kensington Gardens), not to mention a drinking water tap in the gallery loos, or else it's tipping with rain. Last time, I was caught in a flash flood and several tube stations were closed because of security alerts, so there was a lot of walking to be done through a lot of puddles. And if you carry an umbrella, it's difficult to put it up without catching somebody in the eye. Moreover, after you've belted down the escalator and fought the crowds to leap through those underground train doors two seconds before they shut for the eighth time in a day, it can be exhausting. But unless you feel mildly knackered by the end of the day, then perhaps you haven't really made the most of 'the London experience'. So in conclusion...

LONDON'S CALLING

Advantages: Pleasent stay, good food, central location
Disadvantages: Views from room

...eateries/drinking places and chose 372, which offers carvery selection. I was surprise how hot and fresh the food was. Not only that it was tasty too! We opted for lamb with roast potatoes, new potatoes and three vegetables. However, my only complaint about the meal was the vegetables; they were a tad on the raw side for my liking. That said I ALWAYS OVER cook my veggies. Dessert was for me home made apple pie and cream, while the other half opted for home made cheesecake ? both were consumed without any complaints and very much enjoyed. Our meal for two with drinks cost £29) Hotel: the hotel it situated in the Strand which is in central London and easy to walk to theatres such as the Aldwych, Lyceum, and many more. Come out the front of the hotel and turn right, and you?ll be heading towards Trafalgar square with Nelson, bear left and you...

A Lifting Experience

Advantages: An interesting sight to visit
Disadvantages: Only enough for a hour or so

...There are a host of monuments to the excellence of the Victorian engineers and one example is Tower Bridge over the Thames in London. Often overlooked by those visiting the Tower itself next door it is well worth adding to your itinerary in London. It is easily reached by the London Underground its station of Tower Hill being on both the Circle and District Lines. When I first visited the bridge many years ago there was not much to see. The presentation information then was quite limited though it was possible to see the workings of the bridge. Nowadays though there is a series of exhibitions and models which tell the story of the bridge from its building and completion in the 1890s through the various incidents of bombing in the war through to the present day. How the bridge is opened and closed is explained and though...

Not Much of an Experience!

Advantages: There was some interesting information
Disadvantages: Lack of interaction, rude members of staff

...-Getting There- Getting to the Britain at War Experience could not be easier. If you get off of the tube at London Bridge you turn right and walk up the street. It will be on your right, further up the street than the London Dungeons. When we approached the Britain at War Experience I noticed that there wasn't a queue and at first I thought that it was closed...it wasn't closed, it appears that it's just unpopular and if my experience is anything to go on I'm not surprised! -Admission- An adult ticket to the Britain at War Experience will cost you £11.45. Last admissions are at 5pm and they close at 5.30pm. -The Video- The first part of the "experience" was watching a video. I found the video to be quite boring. I can't even remember now exactly what was said in the video. The only thing that stands out in my mind...
