...Before I write this review, I should in advacne apologise to those who read the Daily Mail everyday as their paper of choice, this is not a reflection on you or how you see the world, but more how I view it. I am sure that deep down those that choose to read this paper have some great qualities. There are a few things in life that I am loathed to admit to, yet I think it is time that I cam eout of the closet and admitted that yes.... I do *gulp* read the Daily Mail online everyday. Now to some of you no doubt this will not be shocking, it is after all a very popular newspaper in the UK and one read by millions of people up and down the country, but I consider myself a 'bit of a lefty' I love the European Union and a Federalist State, I hate pounds and ounces..preferring Kilograms and grams, I think 100 watt lightbulbs are a bad idea...

The Daily Mail

Advantages: Well laid out, easy to read
Disadvantages: More pricey than other leading tabloids

The Royal Mail is heading for a fall!

Advantages: ok for non-urgent, non-valuable mail
Disadvantages: shocking customer focus

...I've known many lovely dedicated postpeople over the years, and I hope no-one will take personal offence at this, but I'm really angry, and £11.08 out of pocket so I will have my say! I was given a card by my postman this morning, buried amongst other letters - presumably so I didn't hold him up by querying it. It said that some-one had failed to put the correct postage on a letter, and since £1.08 was outstanding, I could a - Go online, pay and arrange delivery - I spent 15 minutes registering myself on the Royal Mail website and entering my card details, only to discover that the postman hadn't bothered to write on a reference number. If I wanted the letter delivered, I would have to wait in and provide ID. Its ADDRESSED to ME, for goodness sake! b. - Go out and buy £1.08 worth of stamps, attach them to the card, post it...

Glorious mail

Advantages: Providing large space for emails, pop3 access is free, etc,
Disadvantages: Interface is a bit simple.

Advantages: Huge Storage, Searchable
Disadvantages: People not on Gmail don't like big threads of mail

They now have a new logo, GoogleMAIL and the whole site has the same look and feel as the normal Google search engine. I applied for my account before this, and I have noticed that my reply to address has been changed to Googlemail now. I invited two friends from America recently, and they both got the name@gmail addresses still. When Google was launched the main idea was that it would be a kind of lifetime email account, and it re-wrote the rule book for how much storage you could have with web-based email providers, for example Hotmail, which is probably the world's biggest email company (or maybe AOL). Hotmail now allow 250mb of storage for free, but my current limit with Googlemail is more than ten times that. I am not even registering 1% yet, whereas...

...As I’m all sure you know (if you have read my previous op on the Daily Telegraph), until recently I read the Daily Telegraph. However I found a problem with the best selling quality broadsheet in the country, and that was, that it was a broadsheet, it was just to darn big for cornflakes. So on happy sunny day whilst picking up my paper, I decided to opt for another, this later caused problems as before I was such an enthusiast of the Telegraph that the shop owner thought that he had sold out, and apologised profusely. So as I cast my eye upon the selection of newspapers, a picture happened to catch my eye, however as current international news issues are not really part of the Daily Sports criteria, I had to put it back, and opt for the Daily Mail instead. ROYAL MAIL - 1ST CLASS COST, 3RD CLASS SERVICE

Advantages: Nationwide service
Disadvantages: Delivery service very poor

...Firstly, I would like to advise people that during the run up to Christmas, Royal Mail were having delivery problems in the Bristol area, returning items to it's depot due to not being able to deliver items due to the fact that they were unable to get answers at the relevant addresses to be able to deliver signed for letters and packages. This caused big queues at the delivery offices, and huge backlogs. Just after Christmas, Royal Mail indicated that the problems had been sorted out. Unfortunately, in the area where I live at least, even though Royal Mail have indicated that the problems have been resolved, they are still ongoing. On a recent Saturday, our local postman posted our letters, and within 30 seconds I had gone to the front door to pick up the mail. On going through it, I noticed a "sorry, you were out" card...

Advantages: Deliver to most Destinations in uk the next day (if first class)

...This is to help you with a few pointers on Royal Mail and its staff from someone that works in the network. First of all a day in the life of a postman: A postman starts his day at half five in the morning when he arrives at work the goes onto whats called group sorting where he sorts all mail for his delivery area into various walks. This can be anywhere between 15 and 40 different walks. He completes this in about 30-45 minutes depending on the amount of mail that he has to sort (Christmas periods and this could be double the time.) After this he goes to his own delivery frame where he then sorts all the mail for his walk. He clears round all his designated boxes then sorts his mail into order ready to be bundled up and delivered. This can take anywhere between 1 and 3 hours again depending on the amount of mail that he has to...

...I’m beginning to wonder if I live under a dark cloud…I mean, everything I have done, every course I have pursued has lead back to “we are not at fault, it must be something or someone else”. We moved into our new flat about two years ago and moved all our club memberships and catalogues to this address, as well as getting our phone and a few other things. There should have been a ‘healthy’ amount of mail coming in, along with the fact that soon after we moved in my son was born and I was signed off so there was a lot of correspondence with various branches of the DHSS. The Mail on Sunday still reading Wednesday

Advantages: A good read
Disadvantages: none that I know of

...Buying the Mail on Sunday could mean you are still reading it mid week as there is such a lot to read and all for £1.00. The paper itself is 128 pages of news, gardening, travel, winter sports, travel log, holidays abroad and at home, sports mail and cartoons. If I went into each of these individually this opinion could take as long as the mail paper itself to read. Like all Sunday papers and week day come to that, it does come with its fair share of additional papers and bits and pieces a lot of which go straight into the bin but anyuone who buys a paper expects this nowadays. The additional magazine sections are good though. Financial Mail which you can also find on the internet (www.thisismoney.co.uk) gives the usual things like Midus, Markets, shares, personal finance and enterprise. Review this covers...
