Having listened to this DVD and viewed it, all I can say is yes, I think it is probably a seminal masterwork by some of the world's best ever musicial geniuses.. I am in my late 40s, so I can remember the 1960s and I can remember the fantastic influence that the Mamas and the Papas had on music and on society in general. ...Babies are expensive. We used to be under the naïve impression that babies are very small, so how much stuff could they need. After much aimless wandering around Mothercare and Mamas and Papas we realised the error of our ways, there seems to be no end to the stuff that babies need and this is before you get to the stuff that you want to buy that they could probably do without. We spent a horrendous amount in Mamas and Papas whilst Scarlett was still a bump! Mamas and Papas always seems to me to be like the ‘designer’ shop of the baby world. Whilst Mothercare is practical and quite down to earth. Mamas and Papas seems a bit more upmarket. Well as upmarket as baby stuff gets! ...No home should be without a Mamas & Papas compilation album, and this is one of the most readily available. You should even be able to pick it up for around £5.00 or £6.00 at Sale time, which is, as they say, a snip. It not the most comprehensive collection (you'd need to get "Creeque Alley" for that), and it's a shame that "It's getting better" and "Make your own kind of music" are not on here. But then these songs were released as solo Mama Cass recordings, so there were possibly licensing difficulties? The Mamas and the Papas were an integral part of the US 60s scene. They seemed to hang out with everyone, they appeared at the big rock festivals, they had a good time, making good music along the way - it all sounds so effortless. ...My choice of bedding for my new baby was the Meadow interiors range from Mamas and Papas. If you are looking for this at the moment you will find it at great prices, as they seem to be having a sale at the moment. I know that usually means that the colour way is on its way out to be replaced with something newer, but personally I had already decided on this particular range long before I heard about the sale… perfect timing for me! I just loved the crisp lemon tones- much more lively than the huge amounts of beige and cream that you get for babies interiors at the moment. It is neutral without being wishy-washy. I had wanted to find out the sex of my new baby (a girl!) but scans were only 60% clear and so it wasn't worth the risk of buying pink in case the sonographers were wrong and bubs turned out to be a boy. ...Buying a cot for your baby is another nailbiting experience as you only want the best for your baby, but may not have the money to buy the best. We decided on the Mamas & Papas Mamu Fizz Cotbed from Argos. We have pine furniture throughout our bungalow and wanted a pine cot, but could not find a nice one that we could afford. This Cotbed was classed as made from natural wood and is a nice colour and is very sturdy. We also wanted a Cotbed so that we could save some money, as this one will last to around 5 years of age. Of course, being from Mamas & Papas, it meets all current safety standards and came complete with mattress. It cost £154.79 from Argos. ...just a normal cot so I purchased Cot/Cot-Bed sized and I also chose fitted as I felt it would be easier in the long run to use and quicker for changing as well. I had a good look around Mothercare but I wasn't keen on their sheets but I can't really remember why now! I was getting a bit desperate when my mum rang and said she's got me some sheets at a bargain price, so I was chuffed! *The M&P sheets* My mum had managed to get me Mamas & Papas sheets from her local Co-operative store, in the fitted style I wanted and in Cotton Jersey as well. Mamas and Papas sell their sheet in Cot/Cot Bed size which is 70 x 140cm, and are available in 6 colours: bleu (powder blue), cheesecake (soft yellow), rose (soft pink), white, ivory and cream. My mum got me 2 blue ones and 2 yellow ones I could alternate, and matching flat sheets as well to use... Read review

...When I found out I was pregnant I soon discovered that buying a pram/pushchair can be an absolute nightmare. There are so many on the market, doing different things and costing different amounts! i wanted one that would be lightweight, and take my baby right through to being a toddler. I also wanted one that would look like a proper pram, not just a carseat on wheels. Due to suffering from SPD in my pregnancy I was not up to mammoth shopping trips which made it even more difficult to choose one as I could not get out to see what they were like in the flesh. When flicking through the Argos catalogue (its no longer available in there), I came across the Mamas & Papas Pliko Pramette and fell in love with it immediately. ...I was going to borrow a travel cot from a friend, but I belong to Factfinders, a system where I scan my weekly shopping to obtain points which can be used to buy things. I discovered that I had earned enough points (7000) to obtain one for free. They had the Mamas & Papas Classic Travel Cot, with a retail value of £40, so I decided to grab it. M & P are currently selling this travel cot on their website for £35.00, a reduction of £5. It can also be used as a playpen, which will be great when she is a bit older and crawling and I need to pop her somewhere safe for a moment. Advantages: The "one click release" system is easy and you can easily take the car seat from car to chassis with no fuss.
Disadvantages: Car seat is heavy, can work out to be expensive.

...This has to be the original Travel System, with Mamas and Papas being the first company to offer you the freedom of using any attachment (car seat/pushchair/carrycot) solo on any of their Chassis, with a simple on click attach/release system. But is origianl best ? When I was pregnant the moment I saw this I was smitten. The ability to just click the car seat out of the car then onto the chassis simply and quickly did it for me, but after baby came and it was in everyday use its very easy to see whats what. All Mamas and Papas equipment is on the pricey side, but once you add the Primo Viaggio car seat on this travel system it'll bump up the price by about another £70 and all in all can cost you well over £400. The car seat is one of the heaviest on the market, which is OK when you have a 7lb newborn but a totally diffent... Read review
