A Special Jacket!!
Review of Tog 24 Carolina III Ladies Milatex Jacket by

Advantages: very versatile
Disadvantages: None really
...CAROLINA III LADIES MILATEX TM JACKET
This is a sports jacket, which is very much an outdoor coat. It is lightweight, waterproof and is easy to make compact to stowaway. The secret of this jacket and what makes it different is its design and it is made out of Milatex. It is ideal for days out, holidays, when travelling or just everyday use. Really anytime you want to bring a coat and want to store it and don't have much space as it packs up small.
This coat has some special features that make it better in my opinion than others. It is waterproof and will keep you dry from the rain. It comes down over your bum, which is great, as it keeps it dry. I find this important as it means you are not sitting on wet clothes all day as some coats don't cover this region very well and you still get wet.
No wet gets inside your coat...

North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Pullman Dining
Review of North York Moors Railway by
rachel1431
Advantages: Fantastic Meal whilst having a great train ride - a totally different experience
Disadvantages: A long way from where we live
...When 2 friends of ours invited us for a meal but told us that we had to be at their house by 4pm as we would need to set off by 4.15pm I was somewhat confused.
When they followed this by "and make sure you are dressed smartly" I really couldn't work it out. Then when we had to make our menu selection 2 weeks before the date of the meal my mind was blown.
I swiftly realised that we may be making quite a journey and they were driving - I don't travel well so popped a travel sickness tablet in my mouth and we set off.
The Journey There
In fairness I cant really remember much about the journey because of the travel sickness tablet. I was asleep before we even left Rotherham and woke up still none the wiser as to where we were going in the middle of the countryside in North Yorkshire.
First to the Pub...

North Korea on a Shoestring
Review of General: North Korea by
Hmatt
Advantages: Cheap way to see North Korea, and taste Korean food.
Disadvantages: You only see a little bit for a little while.
...North Korea’s full name is the “Democratic People's Republic of Korea” and like most places that feel the need to put the word “democratic” in the title, it is in no way democratic whatsoever. The country’s ruler Kim Jong Il holds totalitarian sway over all 46,959 square miles of the DPRK’s territory and the lives of all 24 million of its inhabitants are at whim. He is not, however, top dog. His post of “Chairman of the National Defense Commission” is indeed the highest post that can be held by a living person, but his (dead) father technically outranks him with the humble little title of “Eternal President”.
Unfortunately Kim senior's decision-making ability and hold on bureaucracy has slipped somewhat since his death. An incredibly severe drought in 2001 followed by a harsh winter and mismanaged state food distribution has...

Beckham learned his skills at the North End
Review of Preston North End by
m.lyon
Advantages: Decent team and more exciting than the Premiership
Disadvantages: Not having that good a season
...'Sorry for the low rate but there is so much more info that you can give here.' This seems to be a comment that I have left quite a lot when reading recent ops from members about their favourite football clubs, although standards are improving. When I noticed that I thought it was about time to put my money where my mouth is so to speak and write an op about football the way that I would like to see one with short pieces about all apsects of the club. So, here goes, an opinion on Preston North End, affectionately known as PNE. Beware this could be a long op!!
Brief History
PNE can be traced back as far as 1863, but at that time it was an amateur cricket club. They were named Preston North End for the simple fact that they were located at the North End of town (there is actually an amateur team called Preston West End...

Hats off to Take Off Your Pants And Jacket
Review of Take Off Your Pants And Jacket [PA] - Blink 182 by
sandy_01
Advantages: Some great songs, good booklet
Disadvantages: Some of the songs are similar
...-
Lead vocals by Tom Delonge. It's about how kids don't have much of a say in the world and that "if we're f****d up, you're to blame" meaning politicians, authority figures etc.
"We really need to see this through. We never wanted to be abused. We'll never give up, it's no use. If we're f****d up, you're to blame"
2) Online Songs- Lead vocals by Mark Hoppus. About how he wishes that he could forget his girlfriend's past when she dated other guys and is rubbing his face in it basically. A really fast song, I like it.
"Please don't remind me, put your past behind me. It shines so bright it blinds me. I wish that this will end. Am I am not fine. Last night I saw you online. Your screen name used to be mine, why can't we just pretend."
3) First Date-
Sang by Tom. A really upbeat song about a guy getting ready to go out with a girl...

North By North West
Review of North West Airlines by
monkfeesh
Advantages: Cheap, wide connections, Drinks are on the house, available all the time
Disadvantages: Entertainment? Nice cabin crew! Unusual noises and lots of 'em
...). Despite looking scary, even to a 50+ year old (my dad – I’m 14, hence the reason why I have a history teacher) the cabin crew were friendly, always helpful and some even managed to twist their grizzled faces into a smile.
Most transatlantic carriers have seat back entertainment. And by that I mean not just a magazine, but a personal screen. Companies that do not offer this on all their planes usually offer a few screens mounted to the ceiling.
Not Northwest. They have a projector in each of the three main cabins (Business Class, and two economy classes – I was in economy by the way). On the way there the screen was projected onto a wall which doubled as a cupboard door – behind this door people could hang suit jackets. Obviously for some passengers who get that urge to put a suit on at 30,000 feet, as many people do, the film or program...

Decent price brilliant jacket
Review of Saddlecraft Jacket by
ckr85
Advantages: strong, warm, waterproof and a good price
Disadvantages: the hood is onl made out of a thin bit of material so it gets wet.
...I know horses are an expensive business and you look at the clothing catalogues and jackets seem to cost about £100-£150. This are the more expensive names like Mountain Horse. I have owned my saddlecraft jacket for about one and a half years. I was lucky enough to win it. I have looked in catalogues and found it not bad for value. This jacket is very warm and keeps me very dry if it is pouring outside except for the hood which is just a thin layer of material. It has three pockets one inside the jacket, a drawstring at the waist and zip followed by push buttons. I have washed my jacket several times and it is easy to clean and look after and it keeps it colour very well. I would recommend this jacket to any horse riders it is comfortable and is exactly what us horse riders needs. It is strong and comes in different styles. This jacket...

Tadpole 23 - THE lightweight expedition tent
Review of North Face Tadpole 23 Lightweight Tent by
Neviscat
Advantages: Lightweight, robust, colour coded poles, reflective guy ropes
Disadvantages: It's not true 4-season, small cooking area, lack of headroom
...I bought a Tadpole 23 three years ago and use it for wild-country back-packing, rock-climbing and winter mountaineering.
It is an ultra-lightweight tent that weighs less than 2kg, designed for two people, in three-season conditions (However, I have used it for winter mountaineering in the UK, which it is fine for if you have a good sleeping bag and air mattress).
It does all the standard tent stuff - like keeping the wind and rain off you and your kit whilst allowing you to cook and sleep, but is much more sophisicated than a standard tent. When you first see it up, it looks a bit flimsy, but it is actually very resistant to the wind and The North Face have made every effort to reduce its weight as much as possible without compromising on the strength.
It is easy to put up on your own (even in the dark when you're tired) due...

FAT FACE - the clothing not me!
Review of Fatface by
twinkle100200
Advantages: great casual clothing, good quality
Disadvantages: some items can seem expensive
...- you can also call for more details.
I have only had good experiences with deliveries (usually sooner than the 7 to 10 days quoted) and on the occassion where I had to return something there have been no problems.
I must also mention the sale catalogues, they have some real bargains - up to 50% off and they are very good at having stock available (I hate it when you go through catalogues picking out the bargains only to find out none are avilable!)I have only found on one occassion my size not available and they could then offer it in another colour for me as an alternative.
Fat Face also attend some events that are listed - such as the ski show, boat show etc. They also have warehouse sales - for anyone reading close to this opinion being posted there is one in the North on 15/16 Nov 2003- as yet the location is a secret so you...

Result Performance Classic Soft Shell Jacket
Review of Result Performance Classic Soft Shell Jacket by
san2kworld
Advantages: its very comfort for all seasons
Disadvantages: not so strainable
...Everything that's claimed is true.. I've been out in tropical style cloudbursts wearing my Barbour and hood. Everything below the jacket hem was soaked ie the lower calves of my legs and feet. But my Barbour did it's duty and kept the rest of me bone dry!
It is also remarkably wind proof. Combined with a vest, shirt and jumper and a decent Tinsulate lined wooly hat, I've braved nasty cold east winds this winter and stayed warm.I've also been through bushes by accident of course. Again a lesser jacket would have been pierced by thorns etc and as a result, I was saved from some potential nasty injury.
Ok so it does what it's supposed to....
