Norton Internet Security 2009

Advantages: Quick to Install, Fast, Better update System
Disadvantages: Quite expensive

...Over the years i've been a loyal customer to Symantec, Purchasing their products since the time when they used the massive boxes to ship them in. Norton internet security has to be the best version yet. As with all the other Norton security packages, it does its job extremely well. I have to admit that I can't remember the last time I got any virus onto my system. The only thing would be the simple tracking cookie. Slowness People think that when they buy Norton, it completely slows their PC down. Now, this may be true for some of symantecs older security, but 2009 is completely different. The installation time is one thing, Its insane how quickly it installed. Now that its installed I never notice its there, just silently running in the background. Norton Anti-Virus - made me feel ill!!!

Advantages: Easy to install, reasonably priced
Disadvantages: Extremely poor customer service

...From what I have heard, most people have a satisfactory experience of Norton, however for me it was a complete nightmare. It is reasonably priced, as I'm a great believer in you get what you pay for and it's the most trusted name around. I'd checked the system requirements and was told by the salesman in Currys that it's idiot proof to install. I have a laptop and so i went straight home and tried to install it. The initial installation was fine, very easy to follow the instructions and seemed to work straight away. The problems came when it came to activating the product. For some unknown reason, it refused to connect to the Symantec server. I'd read the manual which was very helpful, and followed the steps (checking for parental controls etc) but to no avail. norton 360 internet security

Advantages: three pc needs in one place
Disadvantages: a little expensive

...I bought this just after my trial period on my new computer ended with norton, i was quite impressed to begin with as norton 360 has the ability to do pc tune ups, backs up your files and does all of your internet security. Although the back up facility does not last long as it only offers you 2gb of storage, which if you have alot of music, pictures and files this goes rather quickly. On the up side to this you do have an oppertuniy to purchase more space. The pc tune up is brilliant, it speeds your computer up and keeps it up to the performance you expect, although ive recently found a free microsoft product which does exactly the same thing. The subscription only lasts a year which i think isn't really that long considering the cost of the product, although i feel when its bought on offer it provides justice. You can use this...

...I've Had Norton 360 for about a year now and all I can say is WOW, this internet security software is perfect for doing all the worrying for you, so that you don't have to worry about getting any viruses and any other security matter. Norton 360 does what it says on the tin, its protects you to the fullest, and with the fast software application function it also makes your computer speed up a lot faster. The intervenes of the software is easy to use and very efficient indeed, I will carry on using Norton 360 internet security and the experience I've had with this software is been very good indeed, Would like to say thanks to Norton 360 and you have a customer for life now...

Norton 360 - Be careful

Advantages: All round Protection.
Disadvantages: Can slow computers down.

...I bought this product at the same time that I bought my laptop - this got me a discount. I chose this product as I am now a student and the university network requires us to use full pc protection/anti-virus software. Norton 360 has been known to greatly slow down computers and my computer at home is now struggling to cope with the software. I would therefore not advise you to buy this software if you are using an old computer with a small memory. However, my laptop has coped extremely well with it - when I installed the software it barely made any changes to the laptop's speed. I even have all items of the software running in the background (e.g. Auto-Protect) and it barely slows my laptop down at all. In my opinion, it is only best to buy Norton 360 if you have, or are buying a powerful system. My laptop is a Dell inspiron 1545...

NORTON HATES MY COMPUTER!

...I am going to add my two-pence worth to the previous reviews ....if only to help anyone else out there who has bought this product and found the same problems and to let them know they are not alone! We had computer problems some months ago where we just couldn't seem to get onto the net, or when we did, the system was so slow we reckoned it had snails disease. We took our computer to a friend who works as a computer technician for the MOD and he found something like 900 worms/trojans/virus! So, he cleaned it up for us and a pal of his recommended we invested in the Symantec Norton AV. Our troubles would be over!! Yippee!!! No! No! No! Installed the software. Quite easy to do, even for computer illiterates like us. Let the thing scan our system and guess what? It found 17 viruses! No problem, all we had to do was to then go...
