...Notes on a Scandal is the story of Barbara Covett, a lonely and elderly teacher at an underperforming school. It begins with the introduction of a new teacher, young and pretty Sheba Hart. The two become friends, until Barbara discovers that Sheba is having an affair with a 15 year old student, at which point her view of the friendship intensifies significantly. Barbara becomes extremely posessive and falls in love with Sheba, who tries hard to please her and be a good friend but makes it clear she is feeling quite disturbed by Barbara's actions. When angry with Sheba, Barbara clues another teacher in about Sheba's past with the student, who informs the public. Sheba has no choice but to leave her husband and her family and temporarily move in with Barbara, where she discovers her diary and finds out her true feelings about her...

...This is a review of the Nissan Note 1.4 with manual transmission & not the 1.6 auto as listed. My first acquaintance with the Nissan Note was on a rental car hire parking lot last week, it was my transport for three days. If we all purchased a car for looks alone I doubt if anyone would even consider this car. I know looks are a subjective matter but no matter which angle I looked at this vehicle is was just????.well, ugly. With its long wheelbase & box shape & those striking ?bug eye? headlamps it was never going to win a beauty contest. And then there is the name, how many well paid advisors / marketing people came up with the name. Note? Did they pick the names out of a hat? Post-It Notes!!

Advantages: convenient, stick relatively well, come in a wide variety of shapes, colours and sizes
Disadvantages: quite expensive, not too good for the environment

Advantages: Great Acting and storyline

...Most films that star Judi Dench tend to be very good and Notes on a Scandal is no exception. In this film which is based on a book by Zoe Heller, Judi Dench plays Barbara Covett a middle aged school teacher who has a quite pessimistic outlook on life and this doesn't change initially when new teacher Sheba Hart joins the school. Sheba Hart is a young fresh new teacher who, after the pressures of taking care of a young family and dealing with the increasing loneliness she begins to see in her marriage, takes on this new challenge as a way to escape her domestic pressures. Barbara, a bit of a loner herself, is almost scathing about Sheba but when Barbara helps Sheba out with one particular class room crises, a tentative friendship develops, and Barbara begins to see Sheba as a possible close friend and ally. Notes from a Moose Country!

Advantages: It's Bill Bryson, hilarious, excellently written, short stories
Disadvantages: Some parts repeated from other books, can be irritating!

...I've read several of Bill Bryson's books and thoroughly enjoyed them, so when "Notes from a Big Country" came up on BookMooch I was looking forward to reading it without having to pay for it (I know the library is another option, but I like to keep books written by my favourite authors - and Bryson is certainly in my top 20). ...Post it notes are very helpful after havin my son ive lost my memory, I forget things all the time!, then my bf brought me these and now i dont forget anything he justs sticks the brightest colour on my wall so when i see it i know i have to do it,its funny because these can cum in handy all most anywhere,theyre so compact and need so little storage u can slide then in your bag ladies where ur out on the pull? (good idea tho). I dont wanna sound sordid but i used them for writing little versus for my bf on valentines day, there just so small enough to fit a little verse on to, theyr also cheep and u can get the most shops they cum in variable different colours which i love neon colours so you choose what colour suits your personality,have fun go mad start sticking them all over the house then u will never forget things like i did...
