Complete Overhaul of the Office Suite

...General Opinion As an IT Trainer I have used and taught the Microsoft Office suite for 9 years and this is the most exciting change to hit our PCs in years. It is not just an upgrade on an old idea but a complete overhaul of the system. Gone are the old menus and toolbars and in their place is a new feature called the Ribbon. Where once you could turn toolbars on and off accidentally never to be seen again this version allows its users to play around with all the features without the fear of losing any functionality. For new users it is more intuative with the features being grouped together and being more visual. The Office Masterpeice

Advantages: Unique, Funny, Culturally Sound, Entertaining, Good Story
Disadvantages: Humor isn't suited to everyone, Maybe be hard to 'get' if you don't live in England

...The Office is a sitcom done is faux-documentary style, as a camera crew follow the life of the manager of a small-time paper merchants based in the fairly unglamorous setting of Slough, England. It might not sound like the most intriguing, exciting or thrilling piece of TV, but it is a credit to the genius of it's creators Stephen Merchant, who appeared in a brief cameo role in one episode and Ricky Gervais who plays the starring role as the main character and the man who the 'documentary' is based around. David Brent (played by Ricky Gervais) is introduced straight away and the audience quickly discovers that he is a middle-aged man who is a very unique, quirky and odd character who is seemingly fixated on being accepted and acknowledged as a 'cool' and popular boss. Office complete series

Advantages: Laugh out loud funny
Disadvantages: Not enough episodes

Some of the comedy interaction between these two is the highlight of the series as Tim hides Gareth's things for charity and the classic wind ups regarding Gareth's sexuality in the army that Gareth is completely oblivious to. The final piece in the main jigsaw is Dawn who has an on-off love saga with Tim that continues right up till the end of the extra specials. The office was very unique for its time and the character of Brent steals the show. Watch for his single pieces to camera (priceless) and especially his guitar playing in the training day episode. The show flows beautifully and, like Fawlty Towers before it, Gervais and Merchant got out after two series and a special as the series had probably run its course. The Office in it's wondrous entirety

...The Office has to be one of the funniest sitcoms of recent times. Any one who has ever worked in an office environment can relate I think to the situations the actors find themselves in and probably have a similar story of their own as well. I think this is one of the reasons why it is so funny and became so successful. The Office I think was different because it approached the sitcom genre in an interesting way by having the format of a documentary. The office in question was that of Wernham Hogg Paper Company based in Slough, Berkshire. Advantages: IT'S COOL LOOKING
Disadvantages: YOU HAVE A DEADLINE TO MEET?.....DON'T USE!!

...a better result? gee!! not for me at least because, what i feel working with the product is CLUMSINESS, i practically have to look for almost every thing(buttons) to carry out some functions ( THANK GOD FOR SOME SHORT CUTS). One good thing that was done on it anyways, is the fact that you are presented with different "Save AS" options. But take my advice, if you have to work with MS office professional 2007, be sure you save your documents with the "97 - 2003" option because God help you if you are sending that finished document to someone like myself who has decided to stick with MS office 2003 ( atmost 2005) and believe it or not there are quite a number out there. My opinion - Microsoft Office Professional 2007 is cool, but i LOVE my reliable and dependable and easy to USE MS office professional 2003....

...Having installed Office 2003 a little under a year ago, my first impression was that it was slow and clunky. It turns out that I needed more RAM in the system, so poped in another 512Mb and the speed is no longer an issue. I was very pleased with the look and feel of the package, which i felt was a vast improvement on previous versions. In particular, Outlook 2003 has many improved features such as the way emails are grouped by date, with the ability to expand and collapse the groups to only show what you want to see at any given time. Enhanced junk filters and security features keep your emails and machines safe from email based bugs and trackers. Shoes, and not just for the Office!

Advantages: lots of variety, designer, friendly staff, on the main street

...A few years ago one of the closed-down shops on Union Street, Aberdeen, was revamped and turned into an Office shop. Despite what the name suggests, you will not find stationary and electricals here! No, this sells something completely different - shoes! This is one amazing shoe shop, I'm thrilled we have one now! The shop is situated in between two clothes shops so it is hardly ever empty and perfect for when you are in need for some intense shopping! The downside to this though is the fact that these other shops also sell a selection of shoes at a cheaper price. Office always seems to be doing fine though. When you walk in the door, the till is directly in front of you. You will notice rows upon rows of womens' shoes on the shelves and displays around you. There are so many colours and styles that you simply do not know where to look...
