...One of the most innovative game ideas ever, puzzle pirates is an online multiplayer game about, well pirates. The actual game itself is free to download but buying the disk version gets you some extra features including in game items and a few tutorial levels. The main online game has several seperate servers, known as oceans. There are some subscriber oceans, which you have to pay per money to play, or doubloon oceans, which are free but the addition of an added doubloon currency makes things more expensive and players have the option to buy doubloons with real or in game money. Review of Puzzle Pirates (PC)

A Pirate's life for me!

Advantages: Exceptional show of acrobatics and entertainment, unlimited free sangria and soft drinks!
Disadvantages: Merchandise is extortionate, food is only so so

The show is situated in the centre of Magalluf, Mallorca and is very easy to get to by taxi or bus. Taxis are quite expensive with the majority being "Hackney" style so buses are the best bet with loads running from pretty much every part of the island for only a few euros each. Queueing up for the show is a bit of a chore as not only do you get hammered by Pirates trying to sell you extortionately priced merchandise, you also have to queue up for quite a while. Pirate power!

Advantages: Sturdy, hardwearing and pirate perfect!

...The children's book I will now review is the second of the two that my son purchased with his Christmas money in the Asda sale I have referred to in previous reviews. My son is 3 ½ years old and is moving from the baby things over to young boy things, and out of nowhere this obsession with pirates and all things "ooh arr!" has appeared! This obsession involves buying or having absolutely everything in the range, and boy is there a lot! Playmobile Pirates Treasure Chest is an excellent toy

Advantages: Has its own case, canon really fires, pirates clothes are interchangeable
Disadvantages: small parts - use care around ages 0-3

...The Playmobile Pirates Treasure Chest is an excellent toy for my son. My son received it from Santa when he was 4. He is 7 now and still loves it. His favorite part is the canon that can fire 4-5 feet. He also enjoys the secret compartment that has wooden boards covering it. When a "bad" pirate walks over it he falls in and is captured by the "good" pirates, or loot can be hidden in the secret compartment. This set opens and closes well in the front and back. In the back you can change the colorful, cardboard scenery background from a tropical beach to a mysterious cave of treasure. All the parts fit into the treasure chest well and its portability makes it a convenient toy to take on weekends to boring relatives houses. Has loved it so much and now that he is 7 we allow him to play with the pirate hand held guns. He seems...

Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End DVD

Advantages: Action and adventure, great scenes, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp
Disadvantages: A bit long

...Pirates of the Caribbean at World end is the third movie in the Pirates trilogy. It follows the crew of the Black Pearl (the Pirate ship) rescuing Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' locker and then preparing to fight the East Indian Trading Company who are intent on extinguishing piracy. I'm not going to spoil the rest of the plot/movie for you as I believe you should see it for yourself so I will just now review the rest of the DVD and what I thought of the film/films. At the box office it was actually the most successful film of 2007 and is the second most successful film in the series. I think even if action and adventure films aren't for you (they aren't my most favourite) this would still be a film you like as it is very funny in places, the sets are brilliant and the action really is very well choreographed. Avast, ye maties! Time for pirate's gold

Advantages: Smooth gameplay, decent graphics and interactive
Disadvantages: Almost no multiplayer, can't carry on forever, and not completely realistic

...Ahh...this game sure brings back some decent memories. Pirates! Gold, released on the Amiga, PC, Mega Drive and many other systems at the time. This part in history with pirates really intrigued me as a child, so I really couldn't get enough of playing this. Due to the popularity of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, I was not surprised a revamped game was released of the original and now Sid Meier's Pirates for the PC and Sony PSP. I shall also be reviewing Pirates! Gold for the PC in a separate review, due to the slight changes in that version compared to the Mega Drive port. I'm currently playing this version through a Sega Mega Drive emulator, but I did play it a few times back on the day on the actual console.
