...of the West End were totally chocker. So, having booked my flights months before (£54 return with EasyJet), I set about finding a hotel in Glasgow ? easy peasy, isn?t it? Um a resounding no to that one, the main Hilton had rooms, £185 per night, way outside my subsistence levels and having already visited Sheffield, Manchester and Preston that week, with Ibiza the following, finances weren?t really on my side. A continued surf on the web found a room in the Quality Central Hotel, (3 ***) Glasgow for the paltry (cough) sum of £105 B&B. Having stayed at the Clarion Hotel Clitheroe (the big brother in the Choice Hotel chain) and received a cracking deal there through laterooms.com with good quality rooms and food, I thought it would be worth a try, but hang on, that was £45 per night through laterooms.com, so maybe I could get it cheaper...

Advantages: Fantastic value

...I love Christmas and am lucky to have friends and family to enjoy it with. A product I always associate with Christmas is Quality Street as it always seems to have been around at this special time of year. Today somehow it appears much more ordinary and less luxurious than the packaging and media hype would have you believe. Still popular in offices and mess rooms, it seems many people still feel the urge to dip into a tin and select their personal favourite. Please indulge me as I try to explain why I think this assortment still represents a savvy buy at Christmas or thereabouts. Value For Money Local supermarkets were knocking out a 1.2 kg tin (which is 1.16kg sweets if you exclude the wrappings) at the rate of any 2 for £9.00 just before Christmas. ...Quality Save (shop) I visited Quality Save yesterday for the second time only, and I thought I would share the experience with you. Previously, one of my friends told me about this shop but I wasn't very enthusiastic, but later on I had to visit it. I mean, sometimes, if you feel like buying new Nike trainers, big chocolate boxes from Thorntons and so on, you become obliged to watch your expenditure. However, if you are too rich to go to this shop, please do not continue reading; if I didn't have to visit it, I wouldn't have made this daring move? just kidding! Unlike supermarkets like Aldi and Lidl, which depend on selling their own labels at low prices, Quality Save sells known products that you can find everywhere but at much higher prices in the other shops. Along with Roses I think they were invented with Adam and Eve, that wasn't leaves covering their modesty it was the green triangle! ...at the Business Center who gave us tickets which we needed to claim the bags back. All the restaurants are in the lobby and everything is in a small space, including the gift shop. There are also 4 email terminals which cost $5 for 15 mins, 3 pay phones and an ATM so you won't need to search to get cash out! * Outside * The grounds are beautifully kept, there's a fountain and two outside swimming pools surrounded by gates. There is 24 hour security and the men were always around in the car park. Free parking is available although we didn't have a car. The I-Tram stops outside the hotel and is very easy to use, costing $1 one way. As this is a Flagship Hotel for Virgin a rep comes in daily. ...Its very rare that i recieve a box of Quality street chocolates, but boy, when i do they do not last for long. After babysitting my two little cousins last week, my Aunt and uncle decided to treat me: to a huge tin of Quality Streets. (Think they're trying to fatten me up).
