...Of all the music in all the world you’ve just got to love rock/rock ‘n roll. I mean its got everything you need and its everywhere, it makes you feel good, its got power, and it can really help you to work out your anger. I love a lot of music, but there’s one band in particular I love almost as much as the Beatles and what’s more most people I know also like their music, the music of Queen. I only started to take an interest in the band after Freddie Mercury had died, not that I didn’t know about them before hand, I mean I knew some of their songs if I didn’t actually know that they were theirs. Once I did start to take an interest I found that my friends liked them too, and I find that a lot of people do, and a lot of them are people I wouldn’t expect to. ...Queen Greatest Hits is a very good album to listen to, it has all the songs that you will like, and plus the ones that everyone knows, I will be giving information to all the tracks and all about the CD and other things also, so I hope that this review will be useful to you and maybe even interest you in buying this album. Tracks 1) Bohemian Rhapsody ------ Duration 5.58 minutes This track is one of my favourites, it goes on for 5.58 minutes, and it was first played in the year of 1975, when they first recorded this song. This song was written by Freddie Mercury (Queen’s lead singer). Queen released this song in October 1975 from their first number one album, which has been there best. ...everything about the queen, you can get it here. buy anything with the queen's face here. that's my first impression about this place. it is not very big. packed with small small stuff and trinkets. i was in there after a hot day waiting in front of the buckingham palace, hoping that any royals would maybe, just maybe open a window and show their face. well, none did. so i saw this tiny little so-called gallery and went into it. it's cooler, i must say. and got loads of interesting stuff, with the queen's face or name on it. i saw princess diana face somewhere as well. that's all. a great place to be after a hot day waiting.... ...deal, the newly named 'Queen' began to rehearse, occassionly playing small gigs to college crowds. The following year, the group attained a record deal with Trident, and were appointed a manager. By 1973, Queen had begun to get to grips with the lower end of the ladder in the music industry, and consequently began to climb. They release their first album, which was self titled. This album, which recieve little praise, is in fact a gem containing quality tracks such as 'Keep yourself alive' (Queen's début single) and 'My fairy King' (i seriously reccomend downloading these if you can, amazing songs). The album was essentialy a flop. However, a failure in 1973 brought success in 1974, with Queen appearing on Top of the Pops with the song 'Seven Seas of Rhye' from their second album, Queen II. ...Queen's 1973 debut album, Queen, was the first in a long line of successful albums that these innovative musicians produced. Listening to the tracks on this album reveal the formulas that this band would build upon to churn out good, solid rock 'n roll over what would turn out to be a twenty year career as a group. ...I was quite shocked to see that ITV were screening the Oscar winning movie "The Queen" already on Sunday night, so I knew I had to tune in to see what all the fuss was about. As you may or may not know, The Queen won lead actress Helen Mirren an Oscar, a Golden Globe, a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Award at the Venice Film Festival for being the Best Actress, along many others both for Helen Mirren, and the film was a whole. It has been hugely successful, and because of this I was thoroughly looking forward to seeing what all the fuss was about! The film shows us the events from when Tony Blair was elected as Prime Minister in 1997, to the death of Princess Diana at the end of August 1997. It focuses on the backlash that came about against the Queen when she did not appear to speak publicly on the Princess' untimely death... Read review

Advantages: Seeing treasures Queen holds in trust for nation

...I expected the best and The Queen's Gallery did not disappoint. I went to the Royal Faberge Collection, some time go, but the memory lingers. The Queen's Gallery offers exhibitions of some of the Queen''s Collection which she holds in trust for the nation. Before it opened, in May 2002, so much of it was locked up, securely hidden from the very people the monarch holds in in trust for. So, now you can see changing exhibitions for several months as the focus takes visitors through some of the magnificent, priceless and historic pieces held in the Royal Palaces all over the United Kingdom. The Faberge Collection had been the interest of three royal persons, the most famous the late Queen Mother. The exhibition was just so fabulous. It was so royal to put it simply. ...Day 1 in Egypt, site number 2 (and it is only 09:30), so let's do away with the babble and launch right in.... ~What's this place all about then?~ The Valley of the Queens is the burial site for the Queens & children of the Pharaohs of the 18th, 19th & 20th dynasties (1550 - 1070BC). It is said that there are about 70 (some claim as many as 85) different burial sites in the area. Probably the most famous tomb here is that of Queen Nefertari*, which is the largest and most spectacular in the valley. Unfortunately, this tomb is now no longer open, we were told by our guide that a couple of years ago there was some rain in the valley, which caused some damage to Nefertari's tomb. ...Queen emerged in 1973 with their first album, Queen. Prior to this albums release, Queen released a single, "Keep Yourself Alive", also containing "Son and Daughter". In my opinion, this was Queen at their best, For it was during the 70's that Queen were a heavy band. Most noticeably, they have NO songs from the Greatest Hits, however, do not be put off, Queen were at a stage in their career, where they produced less hits. The best songs on this album are "Keep Yourself Alive" and "Great King Rat". My main criticism of this album is that, in my opinion "Seven Seas of Rhye" is a shorter and pretty pointless track compared to the version we all know better on Queen II. The album starts off well with "Keep Yourself Alive". This song has great guitar throughout, and is probably the best track on the album. Brian May shows just why he... Read review
