Good performances from Swank and Morgan, some good scary moments

Limited number of ideas, silly developments, not consistent enough

Strong female protagonist, interesting plot, good action, light-weight bit of fun

Some plot holes, misrepresented as a horror film

..., the transition from videogame to screen hasn't been met with much success. So imagine putting the zombie and the videogame together - what do you get? "Resident Evil;" a surprise hit that has spawned three sequels so far and god knows how many more in the future. "Resident Evil" is certainly not a great film, but it's an enjoyable one.
