...I choose to buy the GHD Salon styler about 2 years ago as it was recommended for thick hair and for the time I had them they were an excellent buy. Great quality and perfect results all-round. As with any GHD's I found I needed to use a thermal protector product to ensure my hair was free from burn and remained healthy. I found for just over a year the straighteners were of very good quality and very consistent, I was able to rely on them completely. The major issue I have with these straighteners was after just over a year of using them, whilst straightening my hair I noticed sparks coming from the wire near to my hand. Where the wire entered the GHD's it had split which was causing the sparks - I felt this should not be happening with the price and quality of the product. GHD Salon Size Straighteners

...I purchased my first pair of GHD hair straighteners back in 2000 when they first hit the UK market. With my hair being so thick and unmanageable I decided on the chunky salon size straighteners for a bit of extra money. These were possibly the best purchase I have ever made as they have actually made my hair healthier than it has ever been before. Gone are the days of wiry, frizzy hair - hello sleek and tamed tresses. With their extra large plates they cover more hair in one swoop than your average straightener and there is no need to repeat hair which has already been blitzed. Hair actually stays straight in humid conditions and GHD are also very good with their customer care, as after 8 years my straighteners unfortunately went on fire in my hand - this was resolved in a matter of minutes with GHD and a brand new pair were soon...

Salon Sleek Hair

...and the great thing is my hair stays straight until I wash it again. When I used to use my old straighteners, my hair would be wavy again within a few hours. My GHD's are slimline and ideal for mid-length hair. However you can also get wide-plate ones (for long hair) and compact ones (for short cropped styles.) GHD also do a set for men. I've had my GHD's for eight months now and they are still as good as new. The box that mine came in also contained an instruction manual and that was all. However you can get GHD's that have all sorts of extras included, including heat-proof mats, product samples and carry-cases. You can also get different colours, my set's black but you can also get pink and red that I've seen and probably a lot more colours besides. I would definitely recommend GHD- however I wouldn't advise buying them from your local salon...

...After my regular hairdresser let me down, my husband came to the rescue and booked an appointment on Christmas Eve at the Mark Hill Salon in Kirk Ella, Hull. I was excited, but nervous. I worried that it would be pretentious and over-priced. I couldn't have been more wrong. The salon has a real 'family' atmosphere and I immediately felt part of the family. ...about them if they say they use GHD's then everyone will want to go out and get a pair. The irons come in a number of different sizes, GHD IV Styler, GHD IV Salon Styler, and GHD IV Mini Styler. I've got quite long, thick hair so I decided to recently buy the GHD Salon Styler because this one has the largest heating plates and so I can get a lot of hair in each section through the irons. The heating plates are different from that of ordinary straighteners because they are made from a ceramic material meaning they are gold coloured instead of the usual silver colour. The ceramic, unlike regular metal plates is said to reduce frizz and damaging impact on the hair. When you use products like these you have to remember that you are subjecting your hair to intense heat which is not always good for it. The ceramic material is said to cut down...

...GHD's which stands for good hair days are a company who first specialised in making ceramic hair straightners and have now branched into making hair products such as shampoos, sprays and treatments to accompany their hair straightners. Id previously owned a pair of ceramic hairstraightners and they did an ok job. Id always wanted a pair of ghd's as my friends raved about them and my hairdresser always used them on my hair, but thought I couldn't justify the price tag. However my boyfriend heard me raving about them and got me pair for christmas....lucky me. I tried them out and they are amazing. I own the salon styler which has wider plates and is more effective if you have longer thicker hair like me. They also do a thin plate one for short hair and now a hair straightner for men aswell called the mini styler ~design...
