...Ok, yes i m aware that this is the second review i've done on a christmas film in two days, and no i'm not one of those fruitcakes that puts my tree up in september until march................... ANYWAY!! I want to review The santa claus brothers, dvd. My daughter received this disc as part of her christmas box last year. Having never heard of the film before then, i confess it took me two months to even unwrap it and another momth to even watch it!! The story - Mel, Darryl and Roy are Santas sons and are all 150 years old (in santa years!!) The boys have a lot of growing uo to do, both in maturity and waist lines!!! (two of them are extremely thin!!) The time has come for santa to decide who is going to take over the reins of the big sleigh,buts its becoming clear to him that the triplets are more interested in monkeying...

...During this Christmas period I have watched a couple of Christmas movies, which is something that I don't normally do. One of these I saw a day or two ago on BBC1, called THE SANTA CLAUSE. This movie was released in 1994 and stars Tim Allen as Scott Calvin, a father who finds himself literally 'becoming' Santa Claus after Santa comes a cropper on Calvin's roof. The film is quite amusing, but this is largely down to the screen personality of Tim Allen, who I always enjoyed in his television sitcom HOME IMPROVEMENT. In comparison to the other Christmas movie I have seen in the last few days (JINGLE ALL THE WAY), this is by far the better. This is mainly down to the fact that Allen can DO comedy (he began his career as a stand-up comedian) whereas Arnold Schwarzenegger really can't. ...I love nothing better than sitting down in December in my sitting room with a beautifully lit Christmas tree, watching a Christmas film with my fiance, and even perhaps Harry now he's starting to show an interest in Christmas and films. Disadvantages: Silly...but what do you expect?

...Scott Calvin works for a toy firm while struggling with his ex-wife for custody of his son, Charlie. When Charlie comes to spend Christmas with him, Scott is reluctant to join in with the Christmas spirit. Then on Christmas Eve he accidentally kills Santa by knocking him off the roof, and, by wearing Santa's clothes, immediately enters into a contract to replace him. Disadvantages: Gets you reaching for the selection boxes!!

...Every christmas i have to follow the same traditions that were rammed down my throat as a child, i have to stand and make endless mince pies (even though my husband is the only who eats them!!), i can only play my christmas cds when wrapping presents and i have to work my way through all of my christmas dvds, (even if its only the end of october!!). The best Santa ever.

Advantages: The most convincing Santa ever(yes i know it March)
Disadvantages: Dodgy bad guy motive "Christmas 2!" Slightly dated.

...As a young girl christmas eve would be spent excitedly waiting night time to come, not just because santa would be coming to leave me lots of lovely presents but because it would mean taking part in one of my favourite traditions- sitting down with my parents and siblings to watch Santa Claus the movie. ...Preamble Here we are...eight years later with the release of The Santa Clause 2. As we all know, sequels do well at the box office (usually) but they hardly ever are able to catch the spark that the original movie had. For All Of You Who Want To See The Movie With No Spoilers... How does The Santa Clause 2 fare? It does just fine. Tim Allen is his usual witty self. Newcomer Elizabeth Mitchell is a nice addition to the movie. Eric Lloyd, who plays Charlie, is all grown up and "hot" looking (16 I believe) so for those pre-teens, there's a bit of eye candy. To keep things relatively fresh, they've also added a half-sister for Charlie by the name of Lucy. She goes around in the movie with the same doe-eyed look that he had in the first movie.
