Advantages: A fantatsic read, with lots of twists, gives a look into the rookie world of the FBI
Disadvantages: A rather gory tale

...Thomas Harris is proving to be an excellent writer, silence of the lambs was the first book by Thomas Harris that I read. Silence of the lambs tells the story of a young fbi agent who is assigned the case of catching a serial killer. The killer (who is nicknamed buffalo bill) is abducting plumpish women, keeping them in a pit for a while, then killing them and skinning them, for the purpose of making himself into a woman by sewing skin from different victims together. Starling the agent goes to visit Hannibal the cannibal for a profile of the killer, hannibal sees the young agent as a way for him to escape, so he does a deal and gives the profile. Advantages: Excellent Plot, Characters Especially Hannibal Lecter!!!
Disadvantages: The Film was not quite as good as the book

...Introduction ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Silence of the Lambs by Thomas Harris is the second in the Hannibal Lecter trilogy, the first book being Red Dragon. I have never actually read Red Dragon, but would advise that you read that before Silence of the Lambs, I certainly wish I did! Silence of the Lambs can be read as a stand alone book, which is how I read it, however I have heard from people who read Red Dragon first that it is an excellent book. ...Silence of the Lambs has previously only been available in the USA in either a no frills affair or a very good criterion edition. However both releases never offered a decent transfer and sound quality. However now MGM have the rights and they've set about releasing a special edition of the film. I'm sure everyone is familiar with the the story. Young FBI trainee agent Clarice Starling is sent to interview a chilling cannibal serial killer Hannibal Lecter. Only he may have the information needed to track down an at large serial killer by the name of Buffalo Bill who is abducting young women and skinning their bodies. The film sees Lecter get beneath the skin of Clarice by simple conversation but also shows a side to a man who is completely chilling but highly intelligent. ...The Silence of the Lambs is based on the novel by Thomas Harris. I'm here to review the film however and I can only be complementary about it! The film is extremely clever and thought provoking and the excellent acting in it really does make it an excellent film. Although it was the first film made of three, Hannibal and Red Dragon, it is the middle of the three books. THE STORY You may think this film is about "Hannibal the Cannibal" on a killing spree but it's not. The film is much to sophisticated for that! The story actually follows not yet qualified F.B.I Agent Clarice Starling in her attempts to capture another killer known as "Buffulo Bill." ...'The Silence of the Lambs' shot into the public consciousness as a superb film starring Jodie Foster and Anthony Hopkins. The name refers to the laying to rest of past memories of one of the main characters, Clarice Starling, a young FBI trainee who is sent to interview a prisoner in a psychiatric prison, mass-murderer Hannibal Lecter. She hopes to gain an insight into a spate of killings around the eastern United States but Dr Lecter is far from helpful, preferring instead to tease Starling with games and obscure hints, to his own ends. Harris writes with a knack of getting the crucial details into the text whilst still leaving the reader with enough questions to continue reading. The result is a superb novel which is well worth a read, particularly if you haven't seen the film.... Read review

...When it comes to the good old traditional Sunday roast it's not roast beef and Yorkies (no not the chocolate bar) that floats my boat, oh no! it just has to be roast lamb and mint sauce. So imagine my elation when I belatedly discovered that those clever boffins at Walkers had added a 'slow roasted lamb and mint' flavour to their stable of thouroughbred crisps, aka Sensations. To coin the football phrase I was 'Over the moon'. So without further ado, on with the review. AVAILABILITY Most of the shops I've been in recently seem to stock these crisps.
