...To try and put the greatest hits of The Simpsons onto one disc is foolhardy. There are so many classic, touching, hilarious episodes people love that if they did do a greatest hits package it would be so long that it wouldn't be able to fit on anyone's shelves, that is the quality of this show. So this DVD, part of "The Simpsons Classics", contains 4 episodes, each accredited with some sort of landmark. We have "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire", which was the very first episode and deals with Homer not getting his Christmas bonus, but in the end gets something much better. There's the 100th episode "Sweet Seymour Skinner's Baddasssss Song" where Bart gets Principal Skinner when he brings Santa's Little Helper into school for show and tell day. There's also "Bart Gets an F" which had the highest ever ratings in America for a Simpsons...

The Simpsons Gone Wild DVD

Advantages: good storylines and 4 great episodes!
Disadvantages: None! could have included a couple more episodes.

...The Simpsons Gone wild DVD contains 4 episodes of Matt Groening's classic. 'Homers Night Out', 'sunday, Cruddy sunday', 'The Mansion Family' and 'Homer The Moe'. Homer's Night Out ********************* After Bart buys a spy camera via mail order, he catches Homer at a night out with his work mates belly dancing with an exoctic dancer, Bart snaps that image and the image circulates throughout springfield instantly, apearing everywhere. Marge makes Homer apologise to the exotic dancer to teach bart that women are not objects. And then she will forgive him. Although being part of the early simpsons episodes from the 90's, and the effects not being perfect it is still an excellent episode to watch and is also part of the 1st season box set. Advantages: Some funny bits
Disadvantages: Not exactly groundbreaking

...across all different levels of class and age. In short the Simpsons created by Matt Groening back in 1987 as a trailer for the Tracey Ullman show are a stroke of pure genius. The fictional town of Springfield was chosen because there is a place called Springfield in virtually every US state and the creators are always careful not to reveal the exact location of the Simpson's Springfield. The characters themselves never age, despite now being some 20 years old and the wacky storylines which now often feature well known celebrities in cameo roles seem to get more elaborate and bizarre. The Simpsons ... Embiggened!

Advantages: Better than newer episodes, some great jokes
Disadvantages: Weaker than older episodes

...Although long-awaited, the Simpsons Movie was finally released in 2007 with the show at a widely-accepted low ebb. I think many who went to see it probably had mixed expectations; the release of something that had been in the pipeline so long was an exciting prospect, although it had been that long since the show had produced a run of consistently good episodes, only the optimistic or ardently faithful would have been predicting a return to the series' 90s heights. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle; the film is neither as good nor bad as it could have been. A year and a bit on from release, the DVD's reduced pretty much everywhere now, so if you didn't catch it at the cinema, it's worth investing in now. The Simpsons!

Advantages: A story that we havnt seen before on tv
Disadvantages: It's not very long

...Well the Simpsons family are back again in this action-packed film! All your favourite characters are here plus a few new ones. It was released on the 10th December 2007 by 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment who have been created films since 1976. The film itself is only an hour and a half long which I found to be a little disappointing as it the equivalent of only three episodes. I was hoping for something a little longer from a movie. It was however worth buying because this film is very different to the simpsons television shows and it hasn't unlike most of them been repeated about 15 times. The Simpsons: Risky Business review

...The Simpsons: Risky Business is a compilation of four episodes from america's favourite yellow family, the Simpsons. The episodes included are "Marge Gets a Job", "Deep Space Homer", "Homer the Smithers" and "Realty Bites". In "Marge Gets a Job", Marge is employed at the nuclear plant after the Simpson's house slides off it's foundations. But she gets some unwelcome attention in the shape of Mr. Burns, who will stop at nothing to woo her. Guest starring Tom Jones, it's another classic episode from the golden age of "The Simpsons". "Deep Space Homer" is a classic episode and deals with NASA sending Homer up into space to boost their public image. ...The Simpsons - Classics - Heaven and Hell is yet another of the 'classics' series of Simpsons DVD's. There are four episodes included here, each having something to do with heaven and the other place. They are "Bart Sells His Soul", "In Marge We Trust", "Treehouse Of Horror IV" and "Homer The Heretic". In "Bart Sells His Soul", Bart sells his soul to Milhouse for 5 dollars after proclaiming they don't exist. He soon regrets the sale though, as his dog is very edgy towards him, automatic doors don't open for him anymore and Marge feel like he is missing something. In the end he gets it back from an unlikely source. A Bart-centric episode, it touches on what a soul is and how someone can possess such a thing.
