EA Games Sims 2
Review of The Sims 2 by
shooga
Advantages: 3D, enhanced graphics, better prospectivew of life
Disadvantages: Harder to get used to the new camera options, more demanding specs needed to play
...after the massive sucess of the sims, the first game in the series, entertainment arts decided to get to work on the sims 2, The basic idea of the game is the same as the original, to live your sims lives and try to keep them happy and make them sucessful. You could have kids and friends but they never grow up. Now the sims2 goes through the humans life cycle, starting off as a new born baby right the way up to an old elder and finally. Death. There are items you can but to take a sim bck through time to a younger stage in their lives. The Best Sims 2 Game
Review of The Sims 2 Pets Expansion Pack (PC) by
stuart_wright1
Advantages: You Can Now Have Pets
Disadvantages: You Need An Even Faster Computer To Run It
...I bought this expansion pack for my favourite PC game a few months ago and since then it has been played to death.
Some critisize EA for not including very much material in the expansion pack and getting people to pay £20 for an extra 50 items. However in this game they add a whole new cat and dog creator.
They also include items for the animals including kennels and scratching posts.
The actual simulation itself is very good as you can teach the dogs tricks and teach them right from wrong. I absolutely love these new features and would not be without them now I have them.
As I said in the diasadvantages section the game does require an even better computer than The Sims 2. As well as all the specifications for it you also need a 1.3 GHz processor, an extra 1.5 GB of hard drive space and 32 MB graphics card...

In depth guide to the Sims 2
Review of The Sims 2 Official PC Game Guide by
rwgladwin
Advantages: Very easy to use
Disadvantages: None to be honest!
...So you've just got playing with your new Sims and have gone through the tutorial in the game, but you're still a bit stuck on the more delicate intracacies of the game. You can get a job, but don't know which job stream earns the most money. You can make friends, but can't really get a steady relationship going. You have an understanding about your Sims wants and needs, but don't know how compatible with another Sim yours will be.
Well fear not - the Official guide for the Sims 2 tells you all this and more about the game. The phrase "in depth" does not do this guide justice! Anything you want to know about the game is in here from information about all the job streams (what skills you will need through to how much they pay and when you have to work) through to how conversations and actions can affect the interaction between Sims...

The Sims 2 DVD-ROM
Review of The Sims 2 (DVD-Rom) by
matty0501
Advantages: Only 1 disc, loads of features
Disadvantages: Can be slow
...I have been a fan of the Sims for many years now, but only recently recently the Sims 2 for Christmas. When I opened it up, I noticed that it said DVD-Rom. At this point I panicked, thinking that I wouldn't be able to use it. Luckily, my computer has a DVD-ROM drive. The only difference between the normal CD-ROM version and the DVD-ROM, Is that the DVD-ROM only has one disc, making installation easier and quicker.
Installation
As I said, because the game is held on one disc only, you don't have to sit waiting for the computer to tell you top put in 'disc 2' or disc 3' etc. This means that you can leave the computer to happily go about its business of installing, whilst you go and watch the telly. As with most games, you can choose where to install the game. To keep you occupied during the installation (if there's noting on TV...

The must have sims 2 pack!
Review of The Sims 2 Nightlife Expansion Pack by
Lauren89
Advantages: downtown area, new interaction and characters
Disadvantages: none
...When I bought my own copy of the Sims 2 game I knew I wanted this expansion pack with it, so I bought the new Sims 2 deluxe pack which includes both games on one DVD rom disc. The reason I wanted this one so much is that I think it's important to own it if you want to get full enjoyment out of the Sims 2 as it has so much to offer on it.
It was originally released in September 2005, around a year after the Sims 2 was released. It's a big expansion pack which adds a whole new area, Downtown, to the game as well as a whole load of other features and new characters. Downtown is basically a place your sims can visit once you have this expansion pack. Here they can dine out, visit sculpture parks, go to night clubs and shops as well as meet other sims that come on this expansion pack. If you want sims to go out and make friends, and even...

Woohoo - The Sims 2!
Review of The Sims 2 by
donnabroom
Advantages: Great graphics, cool objects, multiple towns etc etc
Disadvantages: Can get a little repetitive, too addictive!
...--: Introduction :--
I was, (am), a huge fan of The Sims and so when The Sims 2 came out I couldn't wait to play, but wait I did due to money etc and I finally got it about 3 months ago. I've played it so much since that I decided it was time I wrote a review.
The Sims 2 is made by Maxis a part of EA Games who have a long pedigree in PC gaming. It was released on September 14, 2004 as the sequel to the extraordinarily popular The Sims.
--: Installation and System Requirements :--
The "official" system requirements are as follows but it really is a case of the bigger the better. In my experience you can play the Sims on a PC with the spec below but it will be very slow to load, the game play will be slow and the game will freeze regularly. The graphics also won't be as pretty as they are on a better machine. I've played...

The Sims 2 Comes Up Trumps Again
Review of The Sims 2 University (PC) by
Luvlylana
Advantages: Adds a new dimension to the original platform game
Disadvantages: Very time consuming to achieve results
...So you bought The Sims 2, and though you were hooked for a while, you began to lose interest a bit and released that you do actually have a life of your own to run, instead of spending all your time ensuring the happiness of your Sims families.
Time passes by, and you enjoy the benefits of a social life, and then... like a bat out of hell, The Sims 2 University expansion pack bursts on to the scene.
"Oh no!" I hear you cry! Just as you had reajusted your skin to the presence of daylight, something new in the world of the The Sims 2 has come to grab you back and stick you to your computer chair until the early hours.

Sims 2 Free Time
Review of The Sims 2: Freetime Expansion Pack (PC) by
loopeyuk
Advantages: Excellent add on role playing game. Very addictive
Disadvantages: NONE
...I am a huge fan of the Sims 2 and have all the expansion packs and stuff packs which have been released.
Sims 2 Freetime by far is one of my favourite expansion packs. Your sims now have 10 hobbies which they can take part in :
*Arts and Crafts
*Cuisine
*Film and literature
*Fitness
*Games
*Musica & Dance
*Nature
*Science
*Sports
*Tinkering
Each sims hobby is choosen for them by the computer once you have created your sim and the sim has to take part in "their" hobby before you know which is their particular one. Once you have established your sims hobby you then start to build enthusiasm for it by taking part in the activities they enjoy.
Each Sim is given a bug box in their Inventory which they can display in their homes and collect beetles, spiders and butterflies which all count towards the Nature enthusiasm...
