Thomson Destiny Cruise Ship

Advantages: Great Value Fabulous service
Disadvantages: expensive excursions, ship a little aged

...We travelled on Thomson Destiny on it's first mediteranian cruise of 2006 on May 4th. We had cruised on this ship previously when it was owned by Airtours and named Sunbird. The Destiny is the biggest in the Thomson fleet. I must say the improvements under the Thomson brand were very much evident. As this was our honeymoon we booked two 1 week cruises, back to back. This cost us about £1,900 with free all inclusive upgrade. We did book an inside cabin as on all my previous cruises I had always been upgraded to an outside cabin. Unfortunately we did were not upgraded and found out on the cruise from passengers that Thomson do not upgrade passengers to outside cabins free of charge.   Thomson Spirit Cruise - Fortunate Isles

Death Ship, it's no Ghost Ship

Advantages: Good idea
Disadvantages: Badly executed

...The Film Death Ship is a 1980 horror film that opens on the sea with an old ship storming across the waves. It?s seemingly controlled by ghosts and a German voice is heard over the intercom. At the same time on an apparently near by cruise liner a party is going on. The captain of the ship (George Kennedy) is just about to retire and hand over control to Marshall his second in command played by Richard Crenna. The two ships are apparently on a collision course but this is really badly created in the film as whenever you see the old haunted ship its daylight but whenever you see the cruise liner is in pitch darkness. The two ships have clearly been filmed at two different times of day and it?s such an obvious mistake that the audience can?t miss. Anyway, the ships crash and the cruise liner is seen to suffer a lot of damage...

...cruise in the Mediterannean and I have pleasure in saying I left the ship wanting to come back. Did my week achieve the Island Escape motto: relaxed, friendly and informal cruises. For 99 percent of the time - YES. I was really quite sad to leave after the seven days of my MEDITERRANEAN SPIRIT cruise and feel a ten day cruise may well be much better as you are just getting used to the size and outlay of the ship, (especially as we were onshore each day). I truly wanted to stay onboard a little longer. The' league of nations' staff presented as a fun, friendly team, and this projected into exciting, interesting activities and entertainments day and night...... we visited a new country every day and our hotel went with us. Advantages: Pure luxury, see loads of different countries in one holiday

A cruise on Windermere

Advantages: No driving, fresh air, wonderful scenery
Disadvantages: May be a bit wet and windy up top depending on the weather

The people who run the cruises are a company called Windermere Lake Cruises ? I bet it didn?t take too long to think of that name! The company runs cruises across the lake between Bowness, Ambleside (Waterhead) and Lakeside. Bowness is a pretty holiday town which is the ?heart? of the Lake District.
