...When I was younger I used to go to Eldon Square in the school holidays with my grandma and we would meet my sister and my nephews in Newcastle and go shopping. Therefore, for me Eldon Square has some happy memories as well as some great shops :) Eldon Square is an indoor shopping centre located in the heart of Newcastle and as I am now studying in Newcastle I have been here quite often recently. Eldon Square first opened in 1976 and serves a catchment area of 2.7 million people. There are a number of entrances but I usually enter at the one on Northumberland Street. This leads straight to the shops. It is lovely walking into Eldon Square on a cold day, as it is really warm (so especially good at this time of year!) Advantages: Excellent Location and nightlife

...Manchesters Square Bar is situated in a prime location on Peter Street, Manchester, and it is an excellent choice of bars to start any night out. With the Square Bar being on Peter Street, it is surounded by plenty of other bars, clubs and decent places to go and enjoy yourself. Whenever i go for a night on the town i usually start at the Square Bar. Why?.... Well, with its prime location in the middle of the city centre means we can easilly move onto the next bar/ club whenever we feel. When i say easilly i mean many decent places are within walking distance. I usually get in there about 8:30pm to 9pm. At this time is isnt too busy, which means it is quite easy to make your way to the bar, which is situated at the rear of the building, and get served fairly quickly. How much does everything cost?? Advantages: One of the most beautiful and romantic places and cities in the world!
Disadvantages: The square can sometimes flood, back alley's with poor drainage can smell slightly but this does not affect main aress at all

...If you are not staying in Venice itself, you will usually arrive by a ferry boat that usually drops you at the mouth of the grand canal. There are a lot of different "bus" stops here so try and remember the number of the stop so you can locate it on your way back!! Once you have left the boat you will find yourself on a large walkway with buildings on one side and the open water on the other! It is very strange to know you are in a city with no roads! Once you are off the boat, take a left as this will lead you to St Marks Square and the hub of Venice. As you are walking along (depending on how far up you were dropped) you may go over a number of stunning bridge that traverse the smaller canals running into the city. Take a look to your right as you go over and you will see some picture postcard views of the local life and houses... Read review

Advantages: not to be missed
Disadvantages: careful what you buy

...This is the place that we all remember from the graphic photographs and media coverage of not so long ago. I am sure we all the sight of the tank and the protestor. Well, if you prefer to hear the story from the horses mouth you will learn that the protestor we all thought had been crushed by the tank was in fact removed from the square in one piece. You will also learn that the protesting was not carried out on the square but on the roads leading to the square. What went on was bad but why did the media imply a somewhat different story? One thing I did not realise from the television pictures was how large the square really is. It is a huge place bustling with visitors. The bect time to visit seems to be at dusk when the Chinese flag is taken down for the night by the military. Many locals gather to watch the scene... Read review

...Lord above, I've got the munchies (not the little chocolate sweets either!). Only problem is my stomach ulcer is playing up to buggery, by which I mean its decided to grumble and be a bit painful, not in the other sense of buggery. I'm not making any sense now am I? Shall I get back onto the subject? When my stomach decides to have one of these moments food is not a huge priority, the though of a lot of it makes me feel sick, and eating a large meal would actually do that. So its nibbling that I have to do. I also find a lot of fruit does more bad than good, so I've actually got a reason to eat unhealthy things! And what is there always lots of in my house? ...Whilst prowling the aisles of Marks & Spencer the other day, I was looking for something nice to go with a cup of tea. I wasn't sure whether to get cake or biscuits,so in the end I reached a compromise and bought a pack of Caramel Shortcake Squares. I seemed to remember liking these as a child (I had to reach far into the depths of my memory to dredge that up as well) when they were readily available from bakers shops. PACKAGING AND PRICE BLAH, BLAH, BLAH The Caramel Shortcake Squares are packaged in bronze / orange coloured cardboard sleeve which contains a clear plastic tray. The style of this packaging, with the cardboard sleeve not fully covering the inner tray, allows you to see the delicious goodies awaiting your pleasure inside. Advantages: centre of beijing, national flag is raised here everyday and the late mao zudongs body!
Disadvantages: very open so in extremely hot weather can be uncorfortable, alot of locals selling kites!

...Sitting in the centre of Beijing is Tiananmen Square. Thousands of people visit it everyday and is a must place to visit! It sits infront of the Forbidden City. It is free to visit it. There is a large tower building at one end which you can pay a small price for and climb up which gives you a magnificant view down onto the square where you can appriciate the size of it all! The granite Monument to the People's Heroes is just at the center of the Tiananmen Square. Built in 1952, it is the largest monument in China's history. ...Princes Square is a totally gorgeous and sumptuous shopping mall in Glasgow City Centre and is quite unlike any other I have ever visited in the UK. It is certainly the poshest and although I rarely buy anything there I always enjoy a wander around the shops. Princes Square flies in the face of the old media image of Glasgow of rough housing estates and grinding poverty - more like the new image of Glasgow - the modern city of culture. Unlike many city centre malls that are difficult to avoid, finding Princes Square is not an easy find for the casual shopper. The entrance to Princes Square is fairly discreet, so you have to know its location. The entrance is in Buchanan Street, towards the Argyll Street end. ...Walkers Square crisps are available in 4 different flavours, cheese & onion, ready salted, salt & vinegar and beef. You can buy a 25g pack of Walkers Square for £0.35. Walkers Square are also available in a multipack. The multipack contains 6 packets of Walkers Square, 2 Cheese&Onion, 2 Ready Salted and 2 Salt & Vinegar. It costs about £1.35 for a multipack. Salt and Vinegar are my favourite because they are really tasty compared to the Cheese & Onion and Ready Salted. The Salt and Vinegar are really tangy and you can smell and taste the vinegar. Walkers Square are also suitable for vegatarians because they are cooked in Sunseed oil, which is similar to olive oil. ~~~~~~~~~~~ Packaging ~~~~~~~~~~~ Salt and Vinegar Squares are sold in a dark blue packet which has different shades of blue squares on it. ...I used to eat Squares all the time when I was younger and then you didn't seem to see them around so much. Recently our vending machine at work has started to include Squares so I thought I would give them another go. Squares are available in only 3 varieties, Ready Salted, Cheese and Onion and Salt and Vinegar. They cost the same as a standard packet of crisps so you would be looking at about 45p for one packet, Squares are also available in a multipack or you can buy them from our staff vending machine for 10p! (Everything in our machine is at wholesale prices...!) Squares are made by the good folks at Walkers but the crisps themselves differ from the ordinary Walkers crisps in that they are made by potato granules and not potato slices and that they are Square shaped (do you think that's where they got the name from?!)
