The Swan Hotel - Newby Bridge, Cumbria
Advantages: Very tranquil, pretty setting and beautiful hotel
Disadvantages: Car park is about 500 yards from entrance - when it rains you get very wet!
...My partner and I stayed at The Swan Hotel in Newby Bridge last weekend and i felt compelled to share our experience with others...
The hotel is located at the Southern tip of Lake Windermere and overlooks the River Leven. It is in an absolutely beautiful setting, is accessed via a small bridge and is set right back from the main road.
I think in total it has 55 bedrooms, some of which are suites - but we opted for a standard double during our stay.
We were in room 313 and this had a river view - as do all the odd numbered rooms i think. The room was very spacious and the bed was extremely comfy (although very soft). The bathroom was perfectly pleasant, although decorated in a slightly 'old fashioned' way. You get a few select Sky Channels in the rooms and also broadband is available. The minibars are well stocked but, as...

Decent hotel in the middle of Stafford
Advantages: Nice rooms, friendly service, good food
Disadvantages: Location might be noisy at the weekend
...and general look of the hotel was pretty plush. I would highly recommend this hotel for any business travellers. If it's coming out of your own pocket, if you can get a decent deal then go for it!

Swanning out for a meal
Advantages: Great local pub with an extensive menu
Disadvantages: Not suitable for people with disability
...One of my favourite ways to while away an evening with friends is to go out for a meal and a chat. Some years ago a group of us formed a little dining club and every couple of weeks we like to go out to dine in a range of restaurants within easy travelling distance of Ipswich.
A favourite of ours for many years has been the Swan at Westerfield, in a little village just to the North of Ipswich. This little pub, affectionately known locally as the 'Westerfield Swan' was managed by the same people for many years but has recently changed hands so it was with some trepidation that I set off to dine there recently. I always worry that somewhere under new ownership may not quite manage to be as good as it was previously.
Our party consisted of a mixed group of 5 people and we were seated in the main dining area on a rectangular table...

THE HUMAN SWAN
Advantages: fun for all the family
Disadvantages: none
...Because my daughter loves barbie so much i decided to buy her this movie.
My daughter really enjoyed watching this movie not only because it was a barbie movie but because it is also a ballet movie.
Barbie swan lake is the third animated movie that has been made.
PLOT
******
Barbie stars as a young bakers daughter Odette.
Odette comes across a beautiful unicorn and the unicorn goes into the enchanted forest where she follows it deep into the forest.
Odette gets caught by the evil wizard Rothbart who then casts a spell on odette which transforms her into a swan, although the fairy queen counters the spell Odette still ends up being a swan by day and a human by night.

The Hotel
The Bedford Swan Hotel is located in the centre of the lively town of Bedford, occupying a great position on the banks of the River Ouse right next to the Town Bridge. The hotel was built in 1794 for the 5th Duke of Bedford and was acquired by Paten Hotels in 1916, who remain the long run owners to this day.
The Hotel is the ideal base for exploring the local area featuring 104 Standard...

I'm Glad I Don't Need to Stay Here Again
Advantages: It's possibly the only 'proper' hotel in the town
Disadvantages: It needs some serious competition to buck up its ideas
...Market Harborough is a lovely little market town in southern Leicestershire which deserves to have a better choice of hotels than it currently does. Probably the best established of its larger hotels is the Three Swans and I'd like to be completely upfront about how I feel about this place - quite simply I just don't like it. I feel it represents many of the worst aspects of small town hotels of the type that gives the UK hotel trade a bad name.
From the outside it appears to have quite a lot going for it - and I'm sure that if you get the right room and pay a bit more, you could be quite charmed by the place, especially if you are less familiar with the Olde Worlde charm that it purports to offer. It's probably ideal for American tourists with deep pockets who want to experience what they imagine to be 'the real England'. From...

ugly duckling or beautiful swan?
Advantages: funny, witty, 80's nostagia
Disadvantages: none really
...I'd never heard of this book before I read it, I had actually gone to the library to get Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (a book I've herad a few people rave about), when I got there it had gone but they had this, his latest novel, as I was in a rush I just got it without actually reading what it was about.
The Story
Black Swan Green is so named after the village where 13 year old Jason Taylor lives with his mum, dad and older sister Julia. When we first meet Jason he seems like any other 13 year old he's starting to fancy girl's and is desperate to be popular and liked by his peers. Underneath though Jason is hiding the fact that he's a poet whose poems are published under an alias, he daren't use his real name cos everyone will think he's 'gay', Jason is also desperate to hide his stammer as he know it'll be an excuse for the lads to...

The gift of my swan bread maker SB1010
Advantages: Easy to use lovely results
Disadvantages: hvae not found any disadvantages
...My daughter has always sung the praises of her bread maker to me and the gifts of freshly cooked bread were certainly a welcome treat. I expressed an interest in owning one myself. On mother's day this year my son surprised me with a lovely gift- a Swan bread maker SB 1010!
Never having used a bread maker before the first loaf was very experimental. I tried and failed to make sure that the water added in the recipe was just the right temperature, buy heating it first. Consequently the loaf sunk sadly in the middle. On my next attempt I used water directly from the cold tap and was delighted with the result- a well- risen golden loaf accompanied by an appetising aroma!
My partner has always enjoyed bread with carraway seeds-not easy to find and quite expensive.I decided to try adding carroway seeds to my bread mixture and the end...

SOTY - The Black Swan ~ 10/10
Advantages: All the tracks are better then their older stuff
Disadvantages: You only get 13 tracks, it makes their older stuff look pale.
...in 2007, and they are still with them today.
-------------The Tracks----------
Well, what you probably opened this review for, you want to know whether you should buy this CD or not, I say go for it anyway, even if you hate the music, because ' The Black Swan' is a movement that is against the discrimination of homosexual and negro people, which I find worth supporting. However, its great to have a good CD from somebody you support, so here goes.
1. "Choose Your Fate" - 3:34 ~ 9/10
First Track, starts with spoken text, like a radio broadcast. Brutaly broken, and the music backing the breakout is great, sounds quite different from the older SOTY, neverminding the vocals, that have not changed that much, which can be a plus or a minus, there are some heavier parts, which personally does really great in my taste. Definatly a cut...

The Old White Swan
Advantages: One of the nicest pibs in York, live music, Millionaire, massive toilets
Disadvantages: A little bit out of the way
...Here's number 5 in my short series about my pubs in York. The Old White Swan is one of my favourites, and in my opinion I definitely under-use it. Firstly, how to get there.
From my general start point of the fountain in Parliament Street, head north-east towards Efe's kebab van. If you have any sense, stop there and get some food, and your photo taken (which will be posted on the van the following week). Incidentally, I rate Efe's 6 out of 5 for food. Anyway, from Efe's, head east down the street containing the F1 shop, and Cappucinos. Continue past Wine Rack, past Boots, and thw Old White Swan is on the left. On Fridays, there will be 2 bouncers. The large one with the waxed head is Andy - he's cool. Enter.
The Old White Swan has distinct areas. There is a nice courtyard with vines and stuff in the centre, which is excellent...
