As often happens with new publications, it flopped after a few editions. As ?compensation? I was provided with a free 3-month subscription to Time which I have enjoyed since. A Sign Of The Times

Advantages: Thought provoking
Disadvantages: A lot to digest

...Now then, I want to be honest with you. I am not that intelligent. I am not the brightest star in the intellectual galaxy. I am not an all knowing beaming beacon of all intelligence; in fact my mathematical skills are so rudimentary I could sit there and just break down in tears when faced with any sort of number orientated problem or equation. If this is so then why on earth do I read The Times? Contrary to popular belief, The Times isn't the most taxing and difficult papers to grasp. Granted, it is exceptionally well written, and you do often find yourself in awe at the extent of the vocabulary of certain commentators within the paper. Timmy Time!

Advantages: gr8 new show

...Timmy Time............. Timmy Time is a new programme that is aired on the cbeebies channel. It is shown at 9 am and repeated again later in the afternoon and is so enjoyable Jack doesn't mind watching it over and over again. It is from the makers of the well known Shaun the sheep but Timmy is a younger lamb who attends nursery school with all his small animal friends. He has a friend who is a pig, an owl, another lamb a cat and a hedgehog. There are no words in the programme but the animals make the associated noise such as the pig snorts a lot in the right places giving you an idea of what would be said if they were talking. The stories are easy to follow and in my opinion doesn't need any words. The theme tune is very catchy just as the Shaun the sheep one was and Jack goes mad when it comes on as it is a show that...

...My husband bought himself Audrey Niffenegger?s The Time Traveller?s Wife as he is a sci-fi fan. He read the book and put it on the bookshelf. After a few weeks I read a few reviews on it and discovered that we have this book so I started reading it. It was a very engaging reading I could hardly put the book down. When we heard that there will be a film based on this exciting and brilliant novel we decided to go together to the cinema to watch it. Fortunately whilst browsing Asda I came across a bright green box with ?Balloon Time? written on the front and pictures of kids holding helium balloons. Upon further examination I realised that the box contained everything you need to make up to 30 helium balloons. It cost £20 so we brought two boxes. Tummy Time!

Advantages: different, bright colours, helps strengthen muscles

...Tummy time for babies is really important for their muscle development. When I went along to my children's centre they stressed the importance of giving my baby some time on her tummy every day. This is to help them build their little muscles up in their necks, arms and shoulders which helps them learn to crawl. It also helps them with their eye movements too as they are in a different position to usual. Whenever I put my daughter on the floor on her tummy she'd last for about five seconds before realising she wasn't on her back and she'd start crying. I tried propping a cushion under neath her chest to help raise her a little bit but she somehow would manage to burrow her head into it and then get even more frustrated and distressed. ...Firstly I'd like to say I?m a big fan of Justin Lee Collins, since me and my partner first watched him on "10 things you didn't know about..." on BRAVO TV as the bad boy from Bristol, partly because he's Bristolian and he also grew up and went to the same school as i did (Although 10 years apart and have never met him, not that I can remember anyway), he is very witty with a dry sense of humour and doesn't seem to have forgotten his roots or forgotten those along the way. The Weekly Times

Advantages: Lot's of news and info on todays culture tackling all sorts of issues
Disadvantages: Get dirty hands need to have massive arms and loads of peace and quiet to read

...This Sunday when I went to wash the car abd buy the bacon and eggs for breakfast I decided to pick up a copy of the Times, this was mainly due to the free U2 CD that Alex was whimpering about when I left! I was pleasantly surpised to find that for such a huge paper that it only cost £1. This is the daddy of all broadsheets and is a fabulous read, it may take you all week but it is well worth it!
