...The controls are simple and easy to operate. There is an AM/FM radio with stereo and a CD player. The Venturer looks good. But, looks can be deceptive. The Venturer has a built in aerial, which does away with the telescopic aerial favoured by most other radios. In theory. For sadly the lack of a real aerial also does away with any meaningful stereo reception, unless, perhaps, your house is very close to a transmitter. For if you are in an area of marginal signal strength you will have great difficulty with VHF/FM reception. The CD player is good and easy to operate. However, the problem is that there is a persistent and very annoying loud buzzing noise either through the built-in stereo loudspeakers or through the headphones. In short, I fear that I can't recommend the Venturer for listening to classical music, for example... Read review

Advantages: Detachable CD Player
Disadvantages: Blue Light!

...The Venturer DMS 8770 is a handy, quite slim, useful little stereo system. The design is simple enough, two speakers on the sides then a detachable cd compartment that can be removed and used as a CD walkman. Underneath that is the controls and a lit up clock. I must admit this took me a while to get the hang of, I couldn't get it to play CDs and I couldn't get it to work as an alarm clock so I just had it there as an expensive clock. After a while of playing around it became more simple. Basically the standby button is the key to most things. Pretty stupid of me not to realise that I needed to turn the thing on first I know but it's me! Well firstly the CD player is good enough, I have had a couple of problems with it and only one speaker working occasionally but that may well be to damaged caused by me. As it can be used... ...I purchased my Vango Venture 500 towards the end of 2006. For the bargain price of £85.00 and I haven't looked back since! Numourus camping trips have bee happily spent in this tent and it will see many more! The frame consists of 2 large poles crossing over to make the main dome, and a 3rd smaller pole creating a loop for the porch area. Once erect, with all pegs and guide ropes in place the tent is extremely strong and stable. We have camped in strong winds and strong rain and it has stood strong throughout. As long as there are two of you, erecting the tent is a swift and easy process. Funnily enough you tend to erect it faster when its raining! And packing it back into the bag is an art the first time but you tend to remember how to do it from then onwards and it's easy enough. When packaged, the tent is relatively heavy... Read review

...If you travel a lot, like I do, then the ability to take your DVDs with you and watch movies when you're stuck in hotel rooms miles from anywhere is a very big plus. Cue, then, the Venturer portable DVD player. The Venturer brand is perhaps not best known for quality merchandise and its position on the shelf alongside Sony and Panasonic devices quickly makes it obvious that this isn't the most expensive item on the shelf. In fact, the Venturer's price tag looks a lot cheaper than the device itself does alongside its more expensive kin. But it was the price versus functionality that swayed me to go with the Venturer rather than the more recognised brands I would normally choose, and the fact that this device is portable. ...We bought this tent at the beginning of the summer 2005 from Gaynor Sports in Ambleside. It was only ever intended for use by two of us (my wife and myself) and our dog, but we wanted a bit of room to get dressed in and store stuff and most importantly we wanted to be able to stand up it. The Vango Venture 500 was set up and was a winner as soon as we looked at it. Dimensions and Layout The tent measures approximately 12' X 8' and is about 5'10" high at the highest point. There is a large porch at the front which takes up about a third of the length of the tent, and the rest is taken up by the bedroom. ...My experiences relate to Venture in Leamington Spa and Solihull. We were bought a voucher to have a session and a 10"x8" picture and made the appointment at the Solihull branch. We went in on my son's first birthday and met our photographer. That's where the fun started. I should point out before the rest of this review that I am a keen amateur photographer and I'm also an IT consultant and geek. Anyway, the photographer appeared to me to be a student just out of college (or possibly still in college). I spoke to her about the equipment and it was clear to me that the concept of 'f-stops' or 'the inverse square law' were completely unknown. "Hmmm", I thought. ...and easy to set up. you can connect your satelite receiver or video recorder to the player and select av in giving surround sound for your normal tv viewing as well. Ours is connected to the digital reciever giving excellent results. Most of the controls are on the remote,where you can adjust volume,individual speaker volume,bass,treble and movie,matrix and bypass settings (these give different effects0as well as all the usual dvd controls like subtitle/pause/slow fwd/slow back and zoom to name but a few. I found out today that this system is made by venturer electronics in Canada.(WWW.venturer.com) An excellent system, I would reccomend taking a look at this one if you are considering buying a dvd theatre system...
