DeVito Didn't Do It For Me!

...On one of my usual visits to EBay looking for bargain DVD?s I came across this one and thought it was bound to be good as it stars Diddy Danny DeVito. I have to say that the back cover of the DVD case says that this film is ?Crazy, Laugh out loud, genuinely hysterical? but I did not find this. The plot of the film is about Kevin, played by Martin Lawrence, who is a thief and makes his money from stealing from rich people but when he meets a girl he falls for her and when she gives him her father ring to wear he is totally smitten with her. We are also introduced to Max Fairbanks, played by Danny DeVito, who is a very rich business man. He is facing bankruptcy and struggling to keep his money and business. Kevin and Max meet when Kevin is stealing from his mansion house which Max is not allowed to be in and Kevin interrupts Max...

The Godfather Part II - an incredible follow-up to the first film

...The Godfather II is the second part of the Godfather trilogy. This film sees Michael in charge of the Corleone family having taken over from his father Vito. Running parallel to Michael's rise to power and reign over his father's mafia empire is the story of Vito first coming to America as a boy from Sicily and his rise through the crime ranks. The arrival on the young Vito in America gives a background to the character portrayed by Marlon Brando. The story of the young immigrant puts into context Vito's insistence on family being the most important thing. Watching how he has struggled as an outsider to create his reputation as a man on honour makes you realise that this is a legacy that must be passed on and that 'the family' must stay together. The Godfather - an outstanding film

Disadvantages: Slow to get going and you really have to pay attention

...The Godfather is the first part of a trilogy based on a novel of the same name by Mario Puzo. It follows the Corleone family, a notorious gangster family of Sicilian origin living in America. The film begins with the wedding reception of the daughter of the head of the family - the soft spoken Don Vito Corleone - and sees the return of Michael, one of Vito's sons, from battle in WWII. I won't go through the whole plot of the film as it would take up most of the review, but it follows the delicate politics within the Corleone family and exposes the tense and relationships between the crime syndicates of America. Disadvantages: Make sure you take the 'sensible' approach to Divorce!

...I forget how many times I’ve watched this movie. If you’re getting Divorced, this is THE one! The feelings, the emotions, the ‘I just wanna punch your face in’ feeling is acted so well by Kathleen Turner, it’s just absolutely amazing. Danny De Vito plays the p[art of the initial storyteller and lawyer. They begin romantically, are together practically right from the word go. Then over the years, when Barbara Rose had finished decorating and furnishing their massive house, she realises she has nothing left to do and wonders what to do with her life… This is where all the action begins. As Vito, Dustin gives one of the least convincing performances of his career although he was always going to struggle playing an Irish-Italian heavy. ...Viva La Bam, season five. Personally, I found this season to be the best of them all. I'm not sure why, but there was something outstanding about this dvd that just caught my attention from the others. My favourite episodes of the season included: Viva La Brazil: This was pure brilliance. While Bam ventured through Brazil (or what Don Vito calls The Bahamas) Dico is left home with Phil and Ape to give them their own Brazilian experience, everything from the waterfalls to the rainforest. I laughed at almost every part of this episode, especially when the sand sculpture of Don Vito was made (lazy eye included) then smashed, leaving Vito left to be misunderstood without the trusty subtitles.
