...This CD is excellent. I have always been a fan of Male Voice choirs (not just because I'm welsh) because the overall harmony is gorgeous!! I saw this CD advertised recently on the TV and my parents bought it for me. I was not disappointed. There is an excellent selection on traditional welsh ballads with past pop hits etc. People often mistake Male Voice Choirs as just a 'Welsh Thing' that they won't nessarily enjoy, I think they would be pleasently suprised if they bought it. Being the age of 20, not many of the younger generation appreciate music different to hip-pop, punk-rock or rap but as I was brought up surrounded by jazz, classical, brass etc, I have a much wider taste, thankfully. ...I will say from the start that I am certainly no expert on classical music. I do often have Classic FM on the radio at home and recently bought their 2 CD set, Voices 2008. This is a compilation containing a selection of vocal pieces from the worlds of choral music and opera. There are pieces in this collection which you would immediately recognise on hearing them, even if their names are not familiar. In the set is a CD of relaxing pieces and a CD of uplifting pieces, so you have the choice of which best suits your mood. More importantly imagine school pupils with severe learning problems producing coherent essays by using their powers of speech alone. This is the scenario promised by voice recognition software. There are three main players in the field: IBM, Dragon and Phillips. I have used Dragon at home but have been working with IBM at school, primarily to help one pupil with very poor reading/writing but strong verbal abilities. ...I first came across Sara Bareilles a few months ago while I was looking at my friend's Myspace profile who lives in Los Angeles. I noticed that the song was Love Song by Sara Bareilles. I had never heard of her before but really liked Love Song. She is really well known in America but had not yet made her debut in the UK yet. A few months later, around April time, I heard Love Song on my local radio station. I then realised that her song's were now gracing the shores of the United Kingdom. Little Voice, which is her debut album, was released on 16th June, two months after her first UK single Love Song was released.
