...I am sure I am not alone in being a parent of a child who has begged me to take him to watch Wall-E at the cinema since the film first started being advertised a few months ago. Disney Pixar's latest wonderful collaboration had my son hooked from the first ad on TV. He laughed his head off and I thought, 'How could I deny that?!' So, last week, with rubbish British Summer weather, we headed off to our local cinema for pick'n'mix and some Disney magic. The Plot Wall-E is set in a future where the world has changed. The company Buy'N'Large has monopolised the world and turned it into a rubbish site, with piles off rubbish littering its entirety. ...Please note, I am reviewing the film here, I don't own the product or know the features on the DVD, yet I always buy based on the films overall quality. Pixar usually provide animated shorts and a whle host of storyboards and extras which will really open it up further, but my text and score here is for the theatrical release at this time. WALL-E, the little scrap collecting droid, part if a huge Earth clean up program to rid the planet of all the waste and rubbish that the human race has spread across the globe. WALL-E is the last of his kind, certainly in the immediate region, and spends everyday compacting rubbish into easy to manage cubes which he stacks to huge skyscaper heights. His only friend is a cockroach which follows him around helping him find new and exciting things to add to his own personal collection of scrap... Read review

Advantages: Chris Brown is back
Disadvantages: Overly long video

...Some of you may have seen my review on Chris Brown's 2005 self-titled album, where he broke through with his debut album as a 16 year old with music that had a broard appeal. Now Chris Brown is back in 2007, and finally of age and able to sing about more 18 year old stuff.. well, if he wanted to that is. 'Wall to Wall' is set to be his comeback single taken off his second album, 'Exclusive', and does it have the same appeal as his first smash hit, 'Run It'? Chris Brown has stated that he wants his second album to appeal to the same audiance as his first, however not to alienate the people growing up with music he has said he will throw a few 'older joints' on to the album. I find 'Wall to Wall' very similar to 'Run It' though, in that it is an easy going party song. I can't say that it hits you as strong as 'Run It' did, although... Read review

...It's hard to know where to start on this film. As you'll probably find by searching it on anything from IMDB to Youtube, everyone seems to love this movie, me included! It's been a long old time since I first saw Toy Story as a kid and Pixar has established something of a reputation for creating highly appealing animated movies. Despite this, Wall-E blows all of Pixar's previous works away! Agreed, when you say the plot out loud it sounds pretty samey, another Disney love story... err... with robots. On screen though, this film is beyond compare to any other animated movie I've seen, the concepts in it are highly original, we see a barren, abandoned Earth, practically lost to the body of waste covering it. ...by the way). Me and My Girlfriend Jess first saw this movie advertised about a year ago when a trailer was downloadable from the Playstation 3 store. Ever since we have been waiting for its release! Animation This is ofcourse Disney Pixars best when you cut the story etc out of the equation. Everything was produced in immaculate detail and certainly didn't look like a polished 3D cartoon. Lots of the textures and mapping done to the characters and the amazing, breathtaking scenery looked real. All adding to the fact that this movie, has been in the works for a long time and it's only right they do the best they can, to go with what I can describe as one of the best movies of ALL TIME. Disadvantages: That first half-hour could've been three hours longer...

WALL-E's vision of devolved humanity - a slew of obese, mindless cretins who have their thinking done by corporations and their movements aided by machines - is not all that far removed from the future inhabitants of Earth in Mike Judge's bitter, cynical, deeply hateful Idiocracy. WALL-E, however, refuses to opt for easy sniggering or misanthropy. ...i have lived and worked in York city centre for the last eeeeeerm well i was born here... i am now 30 ish.... and have two children eight and ten... and at least once a month we take a wander around the walls, as York is a busy city with lots going on its nice to walk around the walls alot of the parts of the walls are very busy but there are some really nice quiet places and some lovely veiws of the gardens of the minster and the surrounding houses some of which have some really lovely gardens and the houses are lovely really old and all of them different. if you walk round the wall on a night you might encounter a ghost trail which has been going on in York for about fifteen years.. they try to scare the ****** our of you but very interesting and it takes u on and off the walls to go down all the snickets and ginnels and odd... ...My wife really wanted to go and see this recently at the cinema using our unlimited card - I was a bit reluctant as the trailers didn't show it to be all that great and I had heard a rumour that there was supposed to be no talking in it what so ever! This had also put me off slightly but considering that we didn't have to technically pay to see it and if we didn't like it we could just go and see another film a little bit later I agreed to give it a shot! The plot - Wall E is a robot that was created to clear up rubbish in the world created by the huge corporation 'Buy N Large' - along with the rest of the robots created the idea was for them to clear the junk that humans have ended up covering the Earth's surface with. There was a massive space ship created to enable all humans to live with all the latest gadgets and gizmos out... Read review

...First of all and before I get to my review, I would like to quote one person whom I met on my travels. He said: “It’s just a wall, man!” And frankly, it annoyed me! I just wanted to hit that person. (I didn’t, as I am a very loving person. But pardon me for my bluntness and simplicity; The Great Wall does exactly what it says on the tin! Yes it IS a wall! But the word great is there for a reason.) If you approach this unique sight on a similar level as this traveller, you will not enjoy the experience and subsequently you will probably not enjoy my reviewing a wall. However for those still interested, here it comes! The Great Wall of China! Great indeed! If you look through any guidebooks available to purchase about China you will find tons of information about the Great Wall. It is impossible to go to Beijing and not be able to find... Read review
