Warriors come out and play
Review of The Warriors DVD by
pdoyle007
Advantages: Excellent snapshot of the age. Original
Disadvantages: Looks a little dated
...I first saw the warriors many years ago on CHannel four late at night. It was the kind of neon '80s film (actually made in 1979) that I thought would be good to laugh at before I went to sleep. However I was pleased to find I was wrong. The film, very loosely based on a book by the same title by Sol Yurick, is an action film which also carries a very strong message of loyalty.
The film is set in New York, where the city is divided into areas ('turf') which belongs to different gangs. There are hundreds of these individual gangs and their total combined numbers are around 100,000. The start of the film shows a meeting taking place between the gangs, called by the leader of the head gang. He is proposing a truce and all the gangs to join forces as by eliminating the infighting the can band for the common good.
This was a very idealic...

The brotherhood of warriors at its best.
Review of The 13th Warrior DVD by
Blackcat01
Advantages: Fantastic action movie, strong cast, excellent story, exceptional character interaction.
Disadvantages: The movie was edited/cut to pieces - cant wait for the Directors cut version.
...I was completely blown away when I first saw this movie, what started out as an adventure movie about a group of Norsemen and an Arab turned into an amazing story about how a group of very strong and unconventional warriors, meet on the journey of life and join forces to defeat an inhuman enemy on the adventure of a life time.
Everything about this movie is fantastic from the choice of actors, some famous and some unknown, their acting and portrayal of a warrior race ( the Norsemen ) that is very much at odds with what we think we know or have been told about them and the very story itself, the defeat of a sick, perverse pagan religious cult who commit human sacrifice and cannibalism.
Although there is lots of action and fighting in the film, this is not the main element of why I recommending it, the real bonus and must see...

Warrior they Lived They Fought...They Died
Review of The 13th Warrior DVD by
asyis
Advantages: Great Picturisation, Good Music
Disadvantages: What was AB Doing...
...“Warriors never die…They Live for ever…”
Since the ages, the epic saga of king’s brutality or the fight of good against evil has fascinated directors all around the world. Benhur was a fascinating display of costume drama and has been the most cherished king…Saga.
The best of these kinds of movies are the fantastic Orchestra of music, the horse stunts and the beautiful photography. But the negative part is they tend to become slow at times.
Behind the Scene…
Thirteenth Warrior directed by John McTiernan based on the novel by Michael Crichton’s “Eaters of the Dead” is good, surprisingly fast paced movie compared to Braveheart and Gladiator. Though, this movie can’t be compared to Braveheart, it does has its own fair bit of fantastic and good moments.

Warrior King
Review of Warrior King (Collectors Edition) by
vampiresthirst
Advantages: Incredible fight scenes
Disadvantages: Lacked a plot and unconvincing Australian accents
...the films release in appropriate order: Original Theatrical Teaser, Original Theatrical Trailer 1, Original Theatrical Trailer 2, UK Theatrical Teaser, UK Theatrical Trailer, On the Press trail. Man having watched these you can’t help but think that they really tone down the violence for the UK trailers, ah well what can you do. Also the last extra here the on the press trail extra is not a trailer; it’s simply Tony Jaa showing off his incredible abilities in France, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and the USA. Definitely worth checking it out.
INTERVIEW GALLERY- in DVD order Interviews with Tony Jaa, Petchtai Wongkamlao, Bongkoj Khongmalai, Prachya Pinkaew, Director and Panna Rittikrai, Stunt co-ordinator.
A WARRIORS JOURNEY- Some really cool stuff here, from top to bottom, Revolution uprising, Pre-production action, next is A different line, Multi...

MOON WARRIORS 1992
Review of Moon Warriors DVD by
Moogiekupo
Advantages: Classic Wuxia film with beautiful fight choreography.
Disadvantages: Some questions about characterisation and storyline.
...~~~~~~~~~
SYNOPSIS
~~~~~~~~~
The film, 'Moon Warriors', centred on a pleasant young fisherman called 'Fei' (Andy Lau). He is a kind-hearted and optimistic young man, who was brought up by the sea, in a harbour called 'Shrimp Village'. Fei enjoys his modest life in his hometown, where they would often fish for food, have a community meal and to play with his pet Killer Whale, 'Ha Wei'. The story begins when Fei was working in the Bamboo Forest one fine day, where he started to notice some of the Bamboo Trees were moving from their grounded positions (Macbeth comes to mind).
When he realised that there was people underneath the earth and was using the bamboo as a breathing tube, his awareness came too late. The army below the ground was a trap to invade and kill 'Emperor Yen the Thirteen' (Kenny Bee), order by his evil brother...
warriors... come out to plaaayay
Review of The Warriors DVD by
zx737
Advantages: great film, plenty of action...
Disadvantages: why do you just stand around?
...The Warriors, set in the late 70's sees unity of gangs who outnumber the police 5 to 1 in New York City. They plan on running the town together as one due to their enormous size, however, the leader in charge of this is murdered, and the Warriors get blamed. They lose their leader and so tension is brought between the second in command and a hard nut soldier ( well he thinks he's hard )
The warriors must go on the run within the urban jungle, fighting to save their lives and their gang members. They learn the meaning of true loyalty.
My View
The storyline to the film is great, it depicts the meaning of gang warfare and consolidates this action very cleverly into one night.
I was pretty amazed with the actors and with them getting their feelings across to the audience; sometimes I actually felt as if I was in the film...
A must for any WWE fan!!
Review of WWE - Road Warriors: Life And Death Of The Most Dominant Tag Team In Wrestling History DVD by
luseantom
Advantages: brings back memories
Disadvantages: not brilliant
...this great team and also for the ones who know little about them here is a memento of wrestling's original "most dominant tag team"
As with every other WWE profile DVD, this is split into two parts: a near two-hour long documentary-style feature, and a bunch of related matches, promos and videos. To save you all reading another essay, I'll just be looking over the documentary portion of the DVD here?
After a "in memory of Hawk" graphic, the documentary opens in Minnesota,with Joe Laurinaitis (Animal) talking us through the beginnings of the Road Warriors team, starting with their training in the infamous "The Gym" in Minneapolis. While the DVD is mainly narrated by Animal and former manager Paul Ellering, there are several guest appearances on the
DVD from the likes of Barry Darsow, Darren Drozdov ,Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Jerry Lawler...
Warrior. Legend. King. Excellent.
Review of The Scorpion King DVD by
spidercallum
Advantages: Great performances, full of action and excellent fighting scenes, excellent storyline
Disadvantages: The Scorpion King is made out to be evil in The Mummy Returns
...Warrior. Legend. King.
Introduction
After watching The Mummy saga and being incredibly pleased with them, my girlfriend and I decided to watch The Scorpion King. The movie was released in 2002 just after The Mummy Returns was released in 2001. The film of course features The Scorpion King, who was resurrected in The Mummy Returns. This movie tells a story of a small section of The Scorpion Kings life back when he really alive.
Plot
It's ancient Egypt again; as always there is an evil king, this one named Memnon. His sorcerer, Cassandra, has psychic powers which give her the ability to see into the future. Memnon uses Cassandra to his advantage to stop attacks on his kingdom, to capture those that thieve and of course, to help him take over the world, as all greedy kings do.
Mathayus and his two brothers are Akkadian...
Something Camp In The Hood
Review of Bronx Warriors DVD by
sghawken
Advantages: Great to read about
Disadvantages: Pretty awful to watch
...It started with John Carpenters Assault On Precinct 13, this was followed up by Walter Hill's The Warriors, then there was Mad Max, and by the time we had reached John Carpenters Escape From New York all of which had proven to be big hits, the Italians realised that there was a big market for this sort of post apocalyptic, or gang ridden style movie. The Italian movie scene was a rush with this style of movie 2019: After The Fall Of New York, Endgame, and The New Barbarians were all prime examples, however none had the popularity of Enzo G. Castellari's Bronx Warriors, the only one of these sort of imitations that spawned a sequel.
Set way in the future 1990 to be precise, (little thought was given to the future back in the 80's we all expected to get blown up in a nuclear war any day, that's why you might notice that movies like...
Live The Legends Of Four New Samurai Warriors!
Review of Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends (PS2) by
DBZKing
Advantages: New Officers | Story | Original Extras | Skills | Action | Strategy
Disadvantages: Not Good Without Orginal Samurai Warriors | Graphics
...This is a review on the expansion pack to one of Koei's newest saga's called Samurai Warriors Xtreme Legends, though the name is quite deceiving as in fact there are no Xtreme or Legends mode in this game unlike the Dynasty Warriors Xtreme Legends, but the enhancements they have made with the expansion pack is still good enough to have a play. Produced by W-Force and created by Koei, this is one game that you do not want to miss out on if you are a fan of the Sengoku Muso era.
So, some of you now are probably wandering what is Samurai Warriors? Well it is set in ancient Japan, where clan's have formed to try and gain control of the land and become the sole ruler of it for either peace or to cause more chaos. Unlike in Dynasty Warriors, there are loads of clan's in this, many of them are small clan's that rise up to be known as hero...
