...A mate of mine who is a radio presenter first introduced me to the music of John Williamson. At first, his CDs were only available through Reddington's Rare Records in Birmingham as special imports. But as the influence of the radio programme they were played on spread (the Ed Doolan Show on BBC Radio WM) John Williamson began doing tours of the Midlands and them of the UK and his CDs became more widely available. "The Way It Is" is a wonderful introduction to the works of John Williamson who is, in my opinion, probably the best poet musician singer and humorist that Australia has produced in many years. ...I was going through my Dads cd's when i was skiving off school one day a year or so back... I came across Bruce Hornsby and the Range and i had already downloaded one of his songs... "The Way It Is" and it's simply a master piece before Tupac got his hands on it... now it's just regarded as a remix of this hip hop rubbish that this rapper did... Anyways back the the album which is the title as the main song... everyone will have heard the song "The Way It Is" because it's always on the radio but the other songs are just as equally brilliant in my opinion. Look Who it is!

Advantages: Interesting story, easy to read
Disadvantages: None for me

...he was late 30's/early 40's, which is perhaps something to do with his rapidly receding hair. First shock out of the way I settled down to discover a little bit more about him and quickly found myself interested enough to read on. I suppose you could be forgiven for thinking that there would be something to make you giggle on every page but if that's what you are expecting then I am afraid you will be disappointed. Of course there are some snippets that made me laugh and Alan can certainly make fun of often quite serious issues in his life like the bullying and name calling that he received at school, but it easy to see that many of the witty one line put me downs were probably born out of a necessary to keep those childhood remarks at bay. Indeed we quickly learn that much of this man's material is based around real life observations...

...In 1993 the Atlanta-based rap duo named Tag Team released their debut album, taking its title from the hit single which brought them fame: ?Whoomp! (There It Is)? in the Miami Bass style. They were pretty fresh at the time as one of the first Dirty South Hip hop acts to find worldwide fame, despite really being none other than a one-hit-wonder. The pair consist of members DC the Brain Supreme and Steve Rolland. 1. ?Whoomp!? Two months prior to this dropping as a single, the Florida rap crew 95 South came out with "Whoot! Is This It? It Certainly Is...

Advantages: Iconic drawling vocals, wonderfully written songs, superb guitar, great energy, dirt cheap, flows wonderfully

Well, The Strokes received the full media hpye treatment in the run-up to their debut album, with one key difference: they didn't disappoint. "Is This It?" is probably the greatest debut album since Oasis arrived with "Definitely Maybe". It really is a smart way to drink coffee

Advantages: Keeps your coffee warm, easy to clean.
Disadvantages: Girlfriend borrows it :-)

...the coffee grounds in their rightful place. Sometimes I do get some in my drink, but this is often after I've just rinsed it instead of washing it properly and some grounds have found their way to the top edge of the mug. As far as keeping your drink warm, well it does work well. I do sometimes leave a drink sitting around and wander off somewhere, only to find it 20 minutes later. It's definitely still a drinkable temperature. Cleaning is simple as it only has two parts, the mug and the plunger. I think it would survive a dishwasher but as I am the dishwasher in our place I take care with everything anyway. Be careful not to overfill it though. There is an indent in the top of the mug by the handle where the plunger handle goes. If you overfill it then coffee will run down from here. It's not a bad design feature, just something you may not...

Is it Bedtime ? Don't be Silly !!

Advantages: Good story for bedtime reading
Disadvantages: may pick up extra excuses for 5 more minutes before bed ?? ;o)

... Is it bedtime, Wibbly Pig? A bedtime favorite of my little man this book sums up the bedtime routine we go through most nights and I'm sure I'm not alone.... ANY excuse to stay up 5 more minutes ! We find our friend Wibbly Pig in the bath and the tale opens with " Is it bedtime Wibbly Pig ? " to which he replies "No, silly I'm still in the bath ! " then hes drying his toes...going toilet, reading a story, having a drink, brushing his teeth, counting the stairs on the way to bed.. All those '5 more minutes' distractions my 5 year old seems to find before bedtime. Also so true to life when Wibbly Pig finally does get to bed he doesn't feel sleepy he's bouncy !
