Advantages: Lee at this uncompromised best, superb fight sequences, best fight ever choreographed, wonderful extras
Disadvantages: absolutely catagorically emphatically NONE

.... This was Norris' first film and his acting displays the fact. Norris was a student of Lee but tends to downplay this fact in interviews. The fight is magnificent in the choreography used. Lee experimented with using different types of camera angles, slow motion and switches the camera to a kitten now and again in a kind of metaphor for Lee's change in style of fighting. The fight begins with both characters fighting in a traditional way. Norris using his strong and rigid Korean (although supposed to be Japanese) style of fighting while Lee tries to counter with his more fluid but still traditional Chinese kung fu style. Lee is getting hammered. He is bruised and battered. Suddenly Lee makes the decision that he needs to change in order to survive this fight. He moves on to his toes like a boxer, his punches are whiplashed out, he starts fighting... Read review

Advantages: Easy to read, and will work
Disadvantages: You may fall back into the smoking trap

...everybody smoked and the evil weed has taken more lives since all the wars in history put together. Around 518 people die a day from a smoking related illness. An extraordinarily high figure, but I do feel that the government should ban it completely as opposed to raising taxes accordingly. I just fail to believe that it is allow to continue where as an outbreak of salmonella, foot and mouth or even heroin addiction which kills considerably less are seen as real problems. That said I choose to smoke apparently. I wish I could stop though. I came across Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking a few years ago after 10-20 half assed vain attempts to stop. I read it and successfully stopped smoking for 11 weeks, after which I was at a lovely bbq party, had some good fare and booze, saw a friend smoking, asked for a drag, enjoyed the buzz... Advantages: More than just country music
Disadvantages: Not their best effort

...following a similar route as Shania Twain did with "Come On Over" and trying to get more fans from other genres. How successful this might be will depend on the quality of the music. The album starts with the almost title track, "The Long Way Around", proving that the defiance the Dixie Chicks showed back in 2003 is still present. Musically, they appear to have taken a long way around as well, with their sound having much more of a folk influence than before and the latter part of the song particularly sounding a little like the Corrs. It's got quite a bouncy mid-tempo beat and proves to be a decent enough opener, with a pop-folk influence given a slight edge by the country sounding vocals. There's a slower start to "Easy Silence", which proves to be very much a pop-country ballad. There isn't quite the same strong country influence... Read review

Advantages: Almost all of his best songs including "It was a very good year"
Disadvantages: Candlelight on Cd's not an option

...Now I like my music varied, but lyrics are my thing, be it Bacharach and David, Rickie Lee Jones or Simon and Garfunkel. (that doesn't explain why I like YES, but there has to be some mystery in everyone's life). I also love what could be called "vocal stylists" rather than singers. For example Nick Appollo Forte in Woody Allen's "Broadway Danny Rose", Tony Bennett et al. My mum and dad brought me up listening to Jim Reeves, Tom Jones and Shirley Bassey, which is cruel treatment I'm sure nowadays social services might be interested in. However as I get older, I realise what great performers these people were and top of the heap is Ol blue eyes, Frank Sinatra. I've just bought a double CD "My Way" on Warner and it has all the great man's hits. The one that clinched it for me, and believe me it's worth the price of admission... Read review

...With all the comparisons to any and every film ever made by Quentin Tarantino, people seem to be overlooking the fact that The Way Of The Gun is an original screenplay both written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, penman of The Usual Suspects and X Men. If, for security's sake, you really feel the need to equate The Way Of The Gun with another film or director, try The Wild Bunch, directed by the late, great Sam Peckinpah. They both center on a group of men who hold onto improper values because it's the only thing they know, and both have a final shootout that takes place in an abandoned Mexican setting. This one's a lot less bloody though, and quite a bit funnier. Our protagonists in this instance are Parker (Ryan Phillippe) and Longbaugh (Benicio Del Toro), a couple of petty criminal partners (take that as you will) who make... Read review

...Before this album, I wasn’t a fan of the Chilis at all. After, I definitely am, and would love to see them in concert. Before this album, my favourite song had been the most beautiful, sublime Beatles love song ‘Something’. After, it holds its supremacy no longer. Before this album, I had spent years listening to music a song at a time and I think the last actual whole album to come out that I truly loved was ‘It Doesn’t Matter Anymore’ by The Supernaturals way back when in about 1996-7. After, I can once again listen to the same album, time after time, and never get bored. Advantages: Fighting racism makes for a peaceful world
Disadvantages: None that I know of

...people use the racist term that begins with the letter "n" [and you all know which term I am referring to] I am offended, I am hurt, and hearing that term [no matter who uses the term] brings back memories to me that are not pleasant. I do not care what 'color' you are or what background you come from, when I hear someone using that term I hear it as a totally racist term . And, the person saying that word and declaring it a 'non-racist' term or 'harmless' term is wrong. That's like seeing an elephant and calling that elephant a flea or a mouse. Just because you say it's a mouse does not make the elephant a mouse. Same way, just because someone says, "I don't mean that in a racist way - does not take the racism out of that term or phrase.
