...I first smelt Burberry Weekend while I was shopping at Bluewater in the perfume shop. I didn't buy it because I was Christmas shopping and didn't have the money spare. I never forgot the smell though and later bought in on eBay. Packaging The packaging is quite summary. It is pale yellow with the Burberry hatching across the box in white. Burberry Weekend is written across the front of the box in white italic writing. The bottle is almost dome shaped but with a flat bottom. The glass is frosted but still see through which is useful when you want to know how much is left. The lid is silver and has the Burberry logo (the man and horse) printed on the top of the lid, and Burberry is printed around the side of the lid. The Burberry hatching runs around the outside of the bottle in white and Burberry weekend is written in white...

...My friend bought me Burberry Weekend for my birthday about 2 years ago and I have been hooked on it ever since! Packaging I would describe the packaging for Burberry Weekend are being quite summary. The bottle comes in a pale yellow box which is decorated with the Burberry hatching. Across the front of the box Burberry Weekend in white italic writing. The bottle itself has a circular top, but obviously has a flat bottom. The bottle looks quite chunky and rounded. Burberry for the weekend

Advantages: Pleasant enough fragrance, not too strong
Disadvantages: A bit too 'soapy' for me

A weekend and a half.........

Advantages: We visited some fabulous places
Disadvantages: It was over far too quickly

Vampire Weekend have a bit of bite to them

...I might be a bit of a Brit pop babe and really love my quirky, little known Scottish indie bands but lately I have been seeking inspiration from across the pond. Recently there have been a number of bands from the good old US of A that have impressed me such as the Hold steady, The Gaslight Anthem and the subject of this review Vampire Weekend . Vampire Weekend: The Debut Album

Advantages: Uplifting and puts you in a good mood!
Disadvantages: only disappointing song was "One"

...Vampire Weekend, a band from New York, started out in 2006 and released a few songs but this album which is their debut album was not released until January 2008. I bought this album two weeks ago and have listened to it a number of times and really enjoyed it. The music is uplifting and easy to listen to. The genre of music is quite a mix its mainly indie with some uplifting afro beats. With one song even reminding me very much of a traditional Slovenian dance I saw! Some of the lyrics are a little bizzare but it all adds to the individuality and uplifting style brought to the album by the band. The songs on the album are as follows: 1. Advantages: Lyrically brilliant, catching beat and a good dance electo style. Overall a great listen.

Advantages: Easy to read chick lit
