...For many years my brother lived in Wiltshire under the shadow of a white horse carved into the limestone hillside above Westbury. I was always fascinated by this figure so when I discovered that there was a similar white horse in North Yorkshire within a day trip of where I live it became a place that I wanted to see. There are many examples of figures of horses cut into the landscape in England but in northern England they are quite rare and the one at Kilburn in North Yorkshire is the most northerly such example in Britain. The White Horse: A step in the right direction.

Advantages: Scenery, Visual Impact of the Food, Friendly Locals
Disadvantages: Value for Money - perehaps a little expensive, awkward to find.

...The White Horse of Woolley Moor is set upon a beautiful backdrop, the hills around rolling for miles and the roads twisting and turning. These roads will take your tastebuds on a journey towards some of the finest 'pub food' that I believe Derbyshire has to offer. Many reviews exist of the White Horse, terms such as "par", "average", "cluttered" and "quantity rather than quality" seem to dominate them. Anyway, within the last year, The White Horse has been transformed from a dank, old-man's pub into an airy, bright cafe-style pub, which really works very well. Unlike most Dublin pubs, there's plenty of seating available, the beer is always good, and the service is invariably professioanl and courteous. Again, unlike most Dublin pubs, the music doesn't blare out so that you can't hear yourself think. Prices are average and the location is nice and central - just 100 yards down from O'Connell Bridge....

...I often buy multipacks of Walkers French Fries as they are lower in calories and fat than standard Walkers crisps, I also find them more interesting and fun to eat plus it seems as though you get more in a bag as each crisp is so thin. The multipacks contain three flavours; Ready Salted, Salt & Vinegar and Cheese & Onion. You can also buy Worcester Sauce flavour, but these are only available as single bags and not everywhere stocks them. A French Fry is not strictly a crisp, according to Walkers Snacks it is a 'crispy potato stick' with each 19g bag containing less than 100 calories. The flavours are quite strong which really satisfies my craving for something savoury and flavoursome.
