Even a man who is pure in heart, And says his prayers by night, May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms And the autumn moon is bright. If you haven't heard this piece of horror-movie doggerel before, you'll never forget it after seeing The Wolf Man for two reasons: it's a spooky piece of rhyme and nearly everybody in the picture recites it at one time or another. Set in a fog-bound studio-built Wales, The Wolf Man tells the doom-laden tale of Lawrence Talbot (Lon Chaney Jr.), who returns to the estate of his wealthy father (Claude Rains). (Yes, Chaney's American, but the movie explains this, awkwardly.) Bitten by a werewolf, Talbot suffers the classic fate of the victims of lycanthropy: at the full moon, he turns into a werewolf, a transformation ingeniously devised by makeup maestro Jack Pierce. Pierce was the man who turned Boris Karloff into the Frankenstein monster, and his werewolf makeup became equally famous, with its canine snout and bushy hairdo--and, of course, seriously sharp dental work. The Wolf Man was a smash hit, giving Universal Pictures a new monster for their already crowded stable, and Chaney found himself following in the footsteps (or paw prints) of his father, who had essayed a monster or two in the silent era. This is a classy horror outing, with strong atmosphere and a thoughtful script by Curt Siodmak--well, except for the stiff romantic bits between Chaney and Evelyn Ankers. If you crave an over-the-top historical kung fu-fantasy epic with a good dose of voluptuous nudity, bravura machismo, and passions so intense they verge on ridiculous, then Brotherhood of the Wolf is for you. Based (loosely) on an 18th-century legend, this French film follows a hunky scientist (Samuel Le Bihan) and his Iroquois sidekick/spiritual partner (Mark Dacascos) as they pursue a monstrous wolf ravaging the French countryside. Along the way Le Bihan gets entwined with a beautiful noblewoman (Emilie Dequenne) and a gorgeous prostitute (Monica Belluci) with secrets to tell. The plot grows more and more incomprehensible, but the mix of torrid emotions, outrageous action sequences, and lurid titillation is really what the movie is about. Ignore the highbrow philosophising and confused political intrigue; just enjoy the sensual images.--Bret FetzerOn the DVD:Brotherhood of the Wolf is a film which revels in excess, yet the extra features on the disc are surprisingly sparse. Less Heavy Metal more Average Metal
Advantages: Choice of colours, sticks to your skin
Disadvantages: Not as bold as I had hoped, expensive
...I got this eyeliner in an urban decay gift set that I received for Christmas. I was instantly excited and eager to use it as I do love all things that are a bit girly and a bit glittery and from the outside this is exactly what this looked like. The colour that I received was ?Baked? which is a lovely gold colour.
What is the heavy metal eyeliner?
For a start you should not be put off...

Not so heavy metal more like a big fat flop Urban Decay TUT!
Advantages: Subtle bit of glitter would is ok for highlighting
Disadvantages: Not brill at all and rather flipping rubbish!
...a clear plastic, recyclable box. In lilac writing on the front I'm told it's Urban Decay, Heavy Metal. On the bottom left hand side of the box I'm told It's a Glitter Eye Gel (Gel Paillette Pour Les Yeux) and the size of my product is stated (10ml). On the back of the box the ingredients are listed and I'm told Urban Decay don't believe in animal testing (who does eh so bonus!), contact details are...

Hardcore Punk Wisdom
Advantages: A powerful album of hard hitting music.
Disadvantages: The songs all sound very much the same.
...political, the bands sound is strong and the genres of hardcore punk and metal have here been welded together well. The guitar work always is hugely powerful here, this I feel is where the main strength of Wisdom In Chains music lies and instrumentally I really do love what the band has done here throughout this album.
