Background to our visit ******************* Back in February I placed a booking with Exodus (an 'adventure travel' company) for a trip to Ladakh in the Indian Himalayas with a stay in Delhi at either end of visit. Possibly the Best Resort Hotel In The World!

Advantages: World-Class Facilities and Service
Disadvantages: Expensive (but worth it!)

...Although new developments such as Palm Island and The World may in the future boast bigger and better hotels, right now the Jumeirah Beach Hotel holds the title of the best resort hotel in Dubai and arguably the best in the world. We spent 10 days at the hotel in Easter 2005 and will definitely be planning a return trip! Arrival Before we even arrived at the hotel the exceptional service started, with a limousine waiting to pick us up from the airport. After the short drive to the hotel we checked in only to be told we would have a wait for our rooms to be available (we had been warned of this in advance by the hotel due to our early arrival time). ...INTRODUCTION We stayed at the Villa Rica Lisboa Hotel in Portugal about 2 weeks ago. It is a lovely, modern hotel near the center of busy Lisbon (if you can find a real center in that large, sprawling city!). Finding the hotel was a little difficult at night. We had asked directions from the Car Rental agency, but also had to ask from several pedestrians. The one who gave us the best and final directions was a young man who seemed to be a bit drunk or stoned (!). LOL But once we located it, it wasn't difficult to find again. But once we found it, we discovered that we were only around the corner from the underground train station..which is very cheap and very efficient. The Strand Palace Hotel

...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

Slimming world

Advantages: Excellent choice in food
Disadvantages: £4.50 per week and a £10 joining fee

...I have been a memeber of slimming world since september 2007 and i am still attending every wee which for me is an achievement in itself. Slimming world is a slimming club that you pay a weekely fee to attend this fee is £4.50 which can become quite expensive but they do offer count down packages where you pay for your weeks in advance and can get weeks for free. For me i joined slimming world after I gained lots of weight after having my son and also through a diet of mainly high fat, high sugar foods which i am now not ashamed to admit. Life for us was pretty much one big takeaway so in september I decided that I needed to do something about it so off i went to my local group in Barry.
