The best socket A heatsink available
Review of Thermalright SP-97 AMD Heatsink by
piloteer81
Advantages: Superb cooling, firm fixing, 80 or 92mm fans
Disadvantages: May not fit all boards. A bit fiddley.
..., but there is a comprehensive list of boards and conflicts on the thermalright website.

So how does it cool???? My processor is an AMD Athlon 2500XP-m, a mobile processor fitted in a PC. These overclock fantastically well! Mine currently is at 2500 mhz (2.5Ghz) which is equivalent to a normal athlon XP at something like 3700XP. On benchmark tests it performs as well as lower end athlon 64s and equals the performance of a P4 3.2ghz, no mean feat!
Of course overclocking to this state means you need to increase the voltage to the processor, and this means more heat!
The air temperature here is currently around 30'c, very warm and a little too warm for my liking!
This does mean however that the temps I get will be way above normal as the air passing over the heatsink will be warm too,
At a voltage of 1.675v I am getting...

Supercharged card for gamers
Review of XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked by
Rubeenio
Advantages: Fast as hell
Disadvantages: Costs a bomb
...64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (Socket 939)
Corsair 2GB DDR XMS3200PT TwinX (2x1GB)
Antec TruePower 2.0 550W PSU
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250GB ST3250620AS SATA-II 16MB Cache
ThermalRight Ultra-120 Heatsink
The XFX GeForce 7800 GTX Overclocked specs are:
490 MHz core clock
650 MHz / 1.30 GHz memory clock
256 MB GDDR3 on a 256-bit memory interface
DVI, DVI, HDTV / VIVO outputs
Single slot cooler
NVIDIA SLI Support
Now those in the gaming world will know that these are very impressive specs and they help me play games the way they are ment to be played.
Design:
XFX have put some thought into the design of this card and came up with a really nice looking holograpihc face plate on the heatsink which is a bit redundent if you have a plain case but if you have a side panel on your case then it does make things nice a shiny...

cheap and stable but hot
Review of ASRock AM2NF6G-VSTA - motherboard - micro ATX - GeForce 6100 by
xnplx
Advantages: cheap, stable and responsive, easy installation and runs right off the box
Disadvantages: hot chipset
...fans such as the Thermaltake High Spirit II and passive coolers such as the Thermalright Highrise is definitely not feasible. I am sure that after-market chipset coolers that are of of the same size as the stock heatsink is available in the market, but replacing the stock heatsink with a same size after-market coooler would obviously defeat the purpose of replacing the stock heatsink. Consequently, this motherboard is not suited for long hours of running CPU intensive applications (modern 3D games) and definitely, although it has overclocking capabilities, not suited for serious overclocking.
Another thing I noticed with this motherboard is that it does not display post notes. The monitor just runs black during post for a few seconds and then the OS splash screen appears. Whether this is a problem or not, I am not sure because...
