Thermarest Explorer
Advantages: Cheap Thermarest Mat, Very Comfortable
Disadvantages: Size
...Thermarest mats have been at the top of any kit list for keen campers such as myself. I spent about 5 years sleeping on those terrible closed cell foam mats. It was during a 5 day long expedition that i woke up with a bad neck and said "Im getting a thermarest."
I searched the market for a thermarest pad that suited my needs. The first mat i purchased was my Luxury Edition Camprest mat which was about £100. This is a great mat, and when ever there is a car available to be my porter i will pack this. I then purchased a Perforance Series Ultralight mat. This is used when im climbing high in the mountains where a massive mat lashed to the side of your bag just doesent help your performance. Finally i decided to try one of the discovery series mats, mats that i had outcast earlier.
To my amazement i was introduced to a mat that could...

Therm-a-Rest Explorer Mat
Advantages: Reasonable Price
Disadvantages: Rather large if backpacking
...Last summer I embarked on a 100 mile highland hike, carrying my equipment in a 75ltre capacity rucksack. We aimed to complete the expedition in 5 days. I felt that my current carry-mat was unsuitable as it was farily large and made from foam. I was recommended a thermarest by my friends, and tried theres before purchasing my own.
I was impressed by the thermarest brand. They make really good quality equipment. I was faced with the choice of whether to go for the "ProLite" mattress from the "fast and light series" or the "Expedition" from "the trek and travel" series. I decided, that as I was on a student budet to go for the "Expedition".
I bought the full length version as I am around 6ft. Perhaps going for regular would have been more advantageuous but if you really want to save on weight and size- chose "Prolite...

ThermaRest just the best
Advantages: Comfort & warmth in a field!!
Disadvantages: About 10x price of cheap mat but worth it!
...In a word, Thermarest! These are the best invention since someone clever though "ooh why don't I put something soft between me & this rock I'm sleeping on!!) I've had one for 4 years now & they are just the best - loads of friends have bought them on my recommendation!!
They cost about 50 quid now - not bad seeing as I've had hundreds of what would have otherwise been uncomfortable nights on mine!!
Something you might not know: the more you have underneath you the warmer you'll be, obviously because the cold ground just leeches the heat from you - these things make all the difference!!
Now available in lots of sizes as well as a super lightweight & luxury version (for those lushes amongst us!), they also come in full length & three quarters.
Newer versions have a special non slip coating on one side to stop you sliding...

Brushing isn`t only for hair!
Advantages: Lightweight, shaped.
Disadvantages: Cost.
...their fetlocks rubbing together (ankles). Brushing boots are available in lots of equestrian makes. Prolite is a company but it is also the material that they use to make their products. They make a variety of boots as well as a variety of saddle pads and roller pads and leg pads as well as back supports for people.
Firstly what are brushing boots.
# # # # # # # # # # # # # # # # #
Brushing boots are sold in pairs and are used on the lower part of the horse`s leg to protect against injury, caused by brushing. They are more commonly used on the hind legs, some people will use them on all four. They have a thicker pad at the inside, known as the strike pad as that is the area that is more likely to receive a blow to it. The boots wrap around the entire leg. They are secured either by buckles or velcro, velcro obviously being...

HD widescreen takes gameplay into another dimension
Advantages: stunning colour, fast response time and widescreen display
Disadvantages: -
...The Prolite E2208HDS really does take gameplaying into another dimension with its out of this world HD colour sensitivity and 22 inch widescreen that makes the user feel really immersed from the moment the monitor is fired up. The colour reproduction is stunning and on a par with a top of the range High Definition television with a brightness/excellent contrast ratio combined with lightening fast response time that keep even the fastest games scrolling without any form of picture distortion.
While the performance is exceptional, the key positive points in my opinion do not stop there, with a retail price of just over £150 you are unlikely to find a monitor that comes anywhere close to matching the ease of use, functionality and style of the E2208HDS.
I have tried many monitors in my time, ranging from the garish green Amstrad...

Happy Campers Self Inflate !!!!!!!!
Advantages: self inflating!!!
Disadvantages: damn expensive
...Ultralite Therm-a-rest
Quite possibly the lightest and most compact self-inflating mattress in the world. Made with nonslip Staytek fabric on the sleeping surface, with damp and dirt resistant durable nylon on the underside. OK well theres the sales pitch, so on with the review....
The full length ultralite gives a warm and comfortable nights sleep when used in conjunction with a good sleeping bag. Many people advocate using the 3/4 length and substituting the shorter length with clothing or other softish materials. However I don't usually carry enough clothes to do that. This may be an option if you are 6 feet tall or less, but for anyone over that, I'd suggest the full length version.
The anti-slip treatment works very well and will keep all but the most restless insomniac in place. The firmness of the mat can be adjusted by...

578 grams of goodness.
Advantages: Pack Size, Weight, Reliability
Disadvantages: Cost, Slidyness
...This is the ultimate camping mat.
When i first set my eyes on this product i was sceptical about the price. I had seen foam mats for £10, and seeing this for £60 i couldnt imagine myself buying one. But i did, and i have never looked back!
When backpacking for the first time, you try your best to get most things right. Spending alot of money on one product will save you spending money on alot of other cheaper products, but you will always end up purchasing the creme de la creme, and this Therm-a-rest is just that.
Its pack-size is amazing for what it is. No other mat can offer the same thickness (2.5cm fully inflated) for the smallest pack size of 28cmx15cm, which for a sleeping mat is tiny. Weighinhg in at 578grams is lightInflating is a ease by just opening the valve and blowing air into the valve slowly and in-frequently, as...

the ultimate night's rest
Advantages: ultra comfort without a bed
Disadvantages: punctures
...Sleeping on the ground is never going to be quite the same as a comfy bed but as a frequent camper and trekker the Therm-a-Rest Ultralite is the only choice for me. I have spent nights on cheap foam roll mats but if you are spending anything more than a few days on the ground, you'll find foam mats become as thin as paper in no time. The great thing about the Ultralite is that it is exactly what it says it is - light - and also takes up surprisingly little space. A good night's rest means a lot to me when I'm walking all day long and if you are about to go travelling or just off for a week's relaxation, then this really is worth it. It's not that cheap, when you compare it to a basic mat that you can pick up for about £7, but the Thermarest will last you for years if you look after it. Punctures can be a problem especially if you are in...
