The ideal solution
Review of Compaq Evo Thin Client T20 - Geode GX1 300 MHz by
benjamin15
Advantages: All users can have up to date software
Disadvantages: It has an low power usuage
...What is it?
A “thin client” is a device that enables all applications to be run from a single server instead of the applications been run from the individual persons computer. Compaq evo thin client T20 otherwise known as the “thin client” for people in the trade. Compaq evo is a Microsoft based terminal, which means it has the ability to connect over a network to an operating system (server) which has a citrix metaframe software operating.
Thin client enables the server to control all applications, processing and storage. This means all applications are run from a single server, thus the thin client is used to process keyboard input and screen output, and hence is where the users applications and folders stay.

T20 buy it before it becomes popular
Review of Sony Ericsson T20S by
acidsteve
Advantages: Great looks, compact, fun games, T9, battery life, excellent value for money, fairly unique
Disadvantages: No express on covers
...The Ericsson T20 is a fantastic mobile phone. It hasn’t been hyped up, and at the moment relatively few people have it which makes it more appealing. Many of my friends thought it was a contract phone but was is also available as prepay as well.
At first site the grey exterior is a little boring I admit, and you cannot snap on any fascias either. Nonetheless it is a very small, sleek and sexy compact mobile phone. As I say so far the most appealing thing is that not everyone has it yet unlike the Nokia 3210 and 3310 which is as common as muck!
The screen may look as big compared to many phones on the market, but it is wide and of a very high resolution. The games on here are excellent, such as this game where you have to bounce this ball of a moving base which knocks out the bricks. There is other games on the phone which...

T20 - Wow, excellent little phone UPDATED 23rd FEB
Review of Sony Ericsson T20S by
moose
Advantages: Size, Looks, Features
Disadvantages: Small screen & buttons
...Wow! What an excellent phone! Has anyone else got one yet? What do you think of it? I have just got rid of 2 faulty Nokia 3310's and opted for a T20 instead. I have gone through loads of phones in the past 5 years (Nokia 3310, 3210, Siemens C25, Motorola etc) but I have never experienced an Ericsson phone.
Firstly, there's three colours to choose from - I chose the silver weave (not quite so noticeable!). The phone is also WAP (although the small screen makes this quite difficult to use). The phone is so cool to look at - I love the screen light up colour (blue-ish green)! It's small enough to put in your pocket and has loads of features (WAP, 4 games, swatch internet time, voice dialing, vibrating alert etc). It also has a help facility if you 'hover' long enough over any of the menu items This is definitely the best phone I...

GigaWorks T20, music to my ears
Review of Creative GigaWorks T20 by
littlexen
Advantages: great sound quality, easy to install, very functional, easy to use
Disadvantages: could designed better
...The speakers that came as standard with our PC package can only be described as poor, the quality of the sound produced, the bass and volume controls were of such a low quality that after a couple of weeks of listening to my MP3 files through them and becoming frustrated I had something which my husband described as a “Tasmanian Devil” incident and subsequently punched a hole in the closest speaker. I would add that this is out of character but that was of little consolation to the speaker which refused to do anything but sit in pieces on the desk. A replacement was called for and I was determined to find the best speakers around to avoid any further tantrums and to make sure I could enjoy my music while working from home without moving our stereo system around. The resulting research led me to the Creative Giga Works T20 speaker system...

Ericsson T20 - Respect the phone
Review of Sony Ericsson T20S by
Sheringham_19
Advantages: Light, Features, Small
Disadvantages: Donkey D**k Aerial (Ha Ha Ha)
...20 that has you controlling a spacecraft trying to get to your destination. the only things stopping you are rival spaceships and flying meteors.
Ballpop - Ballpop has you popping balls amazingly. You are a block at one end of the screen angling a ball towards other balls in order to pop them. Very good game that starts of a little slow but speeds up as the levels progress.
God I'm glad I'm of the games section. Why they have to be so hard to explain is beyong my. Sorry if my descriptions of the games sound a bit weird.
Alarm Clock
-----------
An alarm clock is also avalble on the phone is you need to be up at a certain time. All you have to do is set the time and your away. The good thing about this function is that your phone doesn't have to be turned on for the alarm to activate.
Ringtones

Use it as a Thin Client OS?
Review of Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional Complete package by
ergot
Advantages: better then NTrigue which was the last Microsoft server base used here.
Disadvantages: Still some problems with Win 2000 and software (when used as a thin client OS)
...I work at one of the companies that was working with Microsoft fault finding and working with Windows 2000 Beta then the full release version on a thin client setup. Thin client incase you are not sure is where you have some servers (6 in our case) running the software and lots of dumb terminals (150 in our case).
We had lots of problems at the start and it took microsoft US, ages to fix them (microsoft UK was rarely any good). The University where I work was due to hold one of the launch parties and quite a few staff were going to be invited. However due to the fact that they could not get the set up to work properly meant we were not used and no one got invited to any launch.
Whats more the microsoft staff on TV on the launch day said, 'No one has had any problems with the software.'. This was not true.
Most...

Fantastic workhorse
Review of ThinkPad T20 PIII 750 MHz - 14.1" TFT by
Boinng
Advantages: Very economic, very smart, well built, very capable
Disadvantages: Ageing now, limited processing power, no USB2 or inbuilt wifi
...I picked up a T20 about three years ago now, used on ebay, when the model itself was three years old. At that point it was already behind the times when it came to processing power and graphics capabilities, but at the end of the day I didn't care - I wanted a well made laptop that was good for the internet and office tasks, and I hoped that the Thinkpad heritage would deliver that. Deliver it did, and in spades!
Three years on, and of course it's even more behind the times in regard to the spec, but I couldn't care less - I've upgraded it from Win 98 to XP, and it's performing better than ever. As a notebook it's perfect - thin and light, comfortable to use, with more than enough computing power for everyday tasks and good battery life. Using the Mobile version of the Pentium III processor, it's very frugal on power and although...

Passat 1.8t 20v Sport.
Review of VW Passat 1.8T 20V Sport by
spankyham
Advantages: Big boot, Good motorway cruise missile, suprised in how cheap parts are.
Disadvantages: A bit thirsty, ride quality a bit soft. keep grouding on speed humps.
...is quite good on the motorway, very quiet, smooth but it gets a bit wishy washy on the back roads. I do find that on the sport models the ride hight is low and i am forever scraping over speed humps and kerbs causing a bit of damage to the nappy under the engine which does come loose if you don't keep an eye on it, and is a part of the cars aerodynamics. So make sure it's got one before you buy. Also check the suspension bushes on high mileage one's this can be expensive and there is a lot of them on the passat.
The engine is a 1.8, 20 valve, Turbo charged unit which develops around 150bhp, its the same engine the Audi TT which runs at 225bhp. So the engine isn't under to much stress. The power is good, but i do find that it needs a bit of reving to get it goin of the line. I...

IRiver T20 MP3 player
Review of IRiver T20 512 MB by
mints4merlin
Advantages: Small, light, jog proof and fits in my denim jacket
Disadvantages: only 512 MB, looks a bit old fashioned, not as 'cool' as an ipod...
...for an ipod shuffle for my birthday and I had tried to squeeze my old mp3 into it, but with no luck. It hasn't gone to waste as i use it everyday, ok every other day. When I go to the gym as although a bit stretched as regards width it fits to close with the velcro fastening fine for my iriver.
Memory:
512MB, which means it can carry about 140 songs but it varies as to the format of your music and also the length. Some, such as classical music are 15mins long and so take up more memory therefore you might only be able to store 70 or so. The functioning on this works so that you can delete songs manually on the go, you don't have to plug it into your computer to edit. This is great if you want to record a voice recording and have filled too much memory, simply go to tools in menu and delete one be one songs and select the ones you want to remove...
