THINK REALLY
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by
packerlist
Advantages: very good processor with unique vast features.
Disadvantages: the flat screen looks too fragile.
...Well I have to come with the review of PC computer. Lenevo think center is a brand of computer that never made waves in the computer market. But I decided to give it a try by buying it and wanted to get rid of the popular dell, IBM and apple computers for some time.
Well the lenovo think center computer has proved to be a bit different. Some features actually made me to purchase the product and are features like the administrator password, power on password, booting without mouse and key board, hard drive I/O control, usb control, serial port I/O control, boss Sequence control and diskette I/O control. These are the features that really made me to splash at about £250.60 on it.
The lenovo thinkcentre A55 9265 Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz computer has host of unique think vantage technologies at competitive price.
The processor...

Extremely Over Priced PC
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by
saraharcher
Advantages: The case dosn't look too bad
Disadvantages: Addequate but outdated CPU
...significantly lower than Lenovo is 3Ghz upwards. Quite how the ThinkCentre A55 hopes to even try to compete with other manufacturers offering 3-4Ghz CPU's with a price tag of around £50 less is somewhat of a mystery. Having said that, as my mate has proven with flying colours.."there is one born every minute"
The memory installed is on a par with most budget PC's and is supplied with 512Mb DDR II SDRAM. Thankfully memory these days is a relatively cheap upgrade option.
The hard drive installed again is somewhat below acceptable for the price tag. The A55 is supplied with an 80Gb hard drive. Although this size of drive is acceptable, for £400 you would expect something around 100 -120Gb in size.
The graphics card is on-board as is the norm with all budget PC's. The graphics memory is shared with the PC's RAM and is adjustable via the PC...

My A55, the Slender Brick
Review of Siemens A55 by
njrpilot
Advantages: Can be bumped, dropped, scratched, chipped, moaned at and run non-stop...
Disadvantages: A little boring perhaps with its dreary display, but who needs colour really?
...Unlike the bricks of the early mobile phone era, the siemens A55 is sleak, pretty stylish, small, and only brick-like in its incredible durable-ness..if that isn't a word, then the A55 has made it one.
As far as cheap-end phones go i would say this is undoubtably the best. Its rivals, mostly Nokia mobiles lack any interest and are a hark back to the days of heavy, square gadgetry.
It's a phone for those people who are not bothered by gimicks such as a camera, video messaging, 1000s of ringtones, on board drinks machine, etc...it's a phone, plain and simple, with the sole purpose of calling people and recieving SMS. This it does very well, and with some style.
It comes with polyphonic ringtones, and a number of others. The display is clear and easy to follow and may be customized in terms of size, images, etc. With a lighted...

A55? more like A*!
Review of Siemens A55 by
katy321
Advantages: small, smooth, sexy
Disadvantages: easily unlocked!
...As a bit of a nokia fan, I was a bit apprehensive about the purchase of my siemens A55 mobile phone. But at the cheapest on the market (correct 29.03.04) at £49.99 I thought it was a bit of a bargain!
~~~Aesthetics~~~
Lets forget about the unimportant packaging and go straight on to the little red phone inside the box. When I first saw it in O2, I must admit it was the price my eyes were drawn too but on closer inspection the phone seemed pretty small and smooth i.e. no abrasive edges so comfortable to put into your pocket or slide into your tiny handbag for a night out. The exact measurements are
103 x 46 x 21.5 mm which is about 4 x 2" .
The phone comes in two colours red and blue with stoney grey sides. You can get exchangeable covers but I havent been able to find any since I bought the phone! All there seems...
Siemens A55
Review of Siemens A55 by
natalierees
Advantages: small, light, cheap, easy to use
Disadvantages: None that I know of yet!!!
...05.02.04 - I have edited this so you might just want to skip to the bottom.
I used to have a nokia that i dropped so many times it was held together by sellotape. I shopped around for a new nokia and decided that I didn't want to pay the £80 for a new one - after all with my track record I am only going to drop it again.
I am on Orange Pay as you go and wanted to stay with them, so I went to my local orange shop. The Siemens A55 was on offer there for £39.99 - a bargain I am sure you will agree but thats not all. There are currently doing a deal where they give you £10.00 free air time credit and they give this to existing Orange customers to thank you for staying loyal to them and also to new orange customers to thank you for joining with them. This then in theory put the price the phone down to £29.99 as I would have...
ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
Review of ThinkCentre S50 8183 - P4 2.8 GHz by
RichardSlater
Advantages: Slimline, Well Featured, Looks Good
Disadvantages: No Firewire, Not thought out properly
...ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
IBM’s range of workstations have always been backed up with a long history, after all shouldn’t IBM be the experts, they did “invent” the PC after all! IBM’s ThinkCentre range represents IBM’s mid-range business workstations, enough power and multimedia capabilities to run the top end office and productivity, whilst keeping costs down to make the systems as affordable as possible. A hidden but equally important part of the ThinkCentres resides inside the computer and installed on the hard drives, these discrete design decisions and software packages that are shipped with the machines. I have recently installed 86 IBM ThinkCentre S50’s at work; this review is my attempt to distil my experiences into words.
WHATS IN THE BOX?
Siemens A55 - A very functional mobile phone
Review of Siemens A55 by
aznben1
Advantages: Easy to use; Light; Small; Quick loading times; Performs the basic well and efficiently; Durable
Disadvantages: Old; Does not have an in-built camera
..."Petite, light and easy to use, the A55 weighs a mere 84 grams."
I'll be quick to agree with the statement above. The size and weight of it allows for handy and convenient transportation of the phone. It is particularly useful when carried around in your trouser's pocket - unlike most other phones and gadgets, it doesn't show up on your pants thanks to its petiteness.
As for the ease of using it, please pardon my use of a cliché to describe the phone's interface - a "no-brainer". It's simple enough, straightforward, while not loaded with useless and rarely-used programmes one would see in today's mobile phones, thus making it a highly functional phone. Quick loading times adds to the pleasure of perusing the phone.
I would like to add that the phone is highly durable as well - I had dropped my phone more than I'd like...
Siemens A55 - a good bog-standard PAYG
Review of Siemens A55 by
Honeylube
Advantages: Small, nice and cheap, easy to use.
Disadvantages: Just a basic phone.
...The Siemens A55 is small, reliable, sturdy and cheap. It's easy to use and cheap to run, with good battery life of approx 60 hours continuous.
If you're just looking for a bog-standard, no frills PAYG phone then this could be the one for you.
It has space for 40 text messages, 100 phone numbers, and all the usual stuff, calculator, alarm clock, call records (including missed call feature and free missed call alert) games, voicemail, and a good selection of ring tones.
It's not the top of the range, but then that's reflected in the very reasonable price of £35 (when I bought mine back in Nov 2003).
Mine's still going strong despite being dropped about 15 times.
Also comes in a rather funky metallic orange colour : )...
The Best Value For Money Phone - EVER
Review of Siemens A55 by
silver_tiger
Advantages: value for money, easy to use, good range of feautures
Disadvantages: none
...of holes – but avoid the rabbits otherwise your score will drop!
The games are quite standard really - but if you wanted to play top quality games I think you would probably be better off buying a Gameboy Advance or something like that.
The A55 comes with 5 profiles, 2 that can be customised to your own individual liking – you can even rename them.
It also comes with an Aircraft mode, and after playing around with it I realised that the phone was actually disconnected from the network when in this mode.
Text messaging was easy - which is very important to me. I figured out that the number 1 key was the space and not the 0 key. Could get quite confusing if you are used to Nokias, but it was quite simple really when people complained that you put full stops inbetween every word!
You can enter words into the dictionary that is quite...
A great place for a wedding!
Review of Holiday Inn Garden Court A55 - Chester (West), Chester by
rainy100
Advantages: Good Location, Easy to find, Great Food, Nice Rooms
Disadvantages: None!!
...The Holiday Inn Chester West is located just off the A55 west by Northop Hall in North Wales. It is easily visible from the road and has good access. There is a large car park which is also capable of accomodating coaches and located nearby is an OK diner and a Mcdonalds restaurant.
Arrival - The hotel has a welcoming entrance area with a water fountain at the entrance. There is seating in the small lobby area where you can sit whilst waiting to check in. The reception staff are very friendly and willing to assist you with any queries you have. There is a board to the right hand side of the reception desk on the wall which will advise where any functions or weddings are being held within the hotel, great idea for those customers visiting for this purpose, and a good idea for other residents as it gives them an idea of which places...
