Siemens A50

Advantages: About as cheap as you can expect to find
Disadvantages: The buttons are VERY annoying, and it is quite easy to damage.

...I decided that what I needed from a phone was simply to make calls and send the occasional text message. That's why I bought the A50. Its cheap, no frills approach seemed to be just what I needed. And don't get me wrong it has served me quite well but I do have a few gripes that are making me think I might soon be changing phones (I now have). The main one is that the buttons are not very responsive. There is nothing more annoying than trying to write a text and moving on to the next character only to realise that you didn't press the button hard enough for the last one to register. This phone is certainly not for the ardent texter. It just doesn't provide as exciting a tactile experience as you would like. Whereas some phones are actually a joy to use (see my review of the Sony Ericsson k700i) using this phone really is...

Siemens A50

Advantages: Small and stylish
Disadvantages: Quality of games

...I had my Siemens A50 given to me at Christmas and I am still now trying to figure out how to use some of the functions on it such as the melody manager. The handset itself is light (96g), stylish, appealing to look at with a good button layout and fits nice and comfortably in your hand or pocket. It has a good battery life both on standby and talktime use (I do not know exact figures at the moment but will add them as soon as I find them out). The screen is a nice large visable size, which lights up a nice orange colour when you touch the buttons or have and incoming call. The ringtones I think sound a bit cheap and tacky for such a stylish phone, but there is quite a good range (20), but I'm not sure if u can download more if you wish. I think the volume of the phone is a bit too quiet if in a bag but in normal circumstances it...

Samsung A50

Advantages: Huge screen great to see pictures and easy to you. Pictures very clear!
Disadvantages: Eats the batteries so has to be changed reguarly. I RIGHT PAIN!!!

...I recieved this camera as a christmas gift and was over the moon as it had everything i wanted in a good digital camera. The camera was £90 from Boots, which i thought was a reasonable price. The screen is huge allowing the pictures to be seen clearly. The picture quality is perfect and very clear. The buttons where easy to use. There were movie making features and optical zoom. The appearance of the camera is fabulous, and looks very stylish and cute! I think this camera is a must for anyone who wants a good camera at a reasonable price!! Only downfall is that the battery dies quite often, yet nothing that a good stock of batteries cant sort out. Excellent camera!! Would recommend A****...

My mobile may be vintage but it's a good 'un!

Advantages: Durable, simple to use
Disadvantages: Would not appeal to those liking a trendy phone

...Review of Siemens A50 mobile phone The phone The Siemens A50 is a basic model. It is a slim, deep blue phone with a fairly large screen and easy to see and use buttons. No fancy gizmo's or gadgets grace the A50's layout and no clamshell style opening for me to fumble with. The phone was retailing at around £40 on a Pay As You Go tariff when I purchased mine from Carphone Warehouse. I chose this phone some four years ago as a replacement for an all singing, all dancing model made by a rival manufacturer. The reason for selecting a basic phone was very simple (rather like me!), I got fed up with the fiddly number pad and complicated menu on my other phone and decided that as I had no interest in playing games, listening to music, surfing the net, receiving and sending email or taking photographs with my phone, it was pointless to...

ThinkCentre... Think Smarter

Advantages: Slimline, Well Featured, Looks Good
Disadvantages: No Firewire, Not thought out properly

...ThinkCentre... Think Smarter IBM?s range of workstations have always been backed up with a long history, after all shouldn?t IBM be the experts, they did ?invent? the PC after all! IBM?s ThinkCentre range represents IBM?s mid-range business workstations, enough power and multimedia capabilities to run the top end office and productivity, whilst keeping costs down to make the systems as affordable as possible. A hidden but equally important part of the ThinkCentres resides inside the computer and installed on the hard drives, these discrete design decisions and software packages that are shipped with the machines. I have recently installed 86 IBM ThinkCentre S50?s at work; this review is my attempt to distil my experiences into words. WHATS IN THE BOX? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the box arrives at your door, or in my case three...

Siemens Speak into my Ear

Advantages: It is just a phone
Disadvantages: It is just a phone

...Pity the poor shop assistant who gets to serve me an electrical goods store, I know exactly what I want and exactly how much I want to pay for it, and if you don't try to sweeten the offer then I walk. Anyway down to phones about 18 months ago my old Phillips brick that cost me a tenner died horribly and unexpectedly. Good taste prevents me from disclosing the full details surrounding its death, but the end result was I needed a new phone. I wandered pseudo aimlessly around quite a few mobile shops, but I had already decided upon the Siemens A50 cause it was the cheapest, and it wasn't a Samsung (I just thing that Siemens is a much better name, I am putting my Siemens next to my ear ho ho ho). Anyway the shop assistant tried to up sell me to one with a colour screen "how does that improve the phones abilities I asked", how about...

Oh pleeease I just want to make a phone call.

Advantages: Easy to use
Disadvantages: short battery life / sticky keys

...when one stops working they all do so I have a camera to take photos, a pc for games, internet etc and a camcorder that makes films so wanted a phone to make phone calls. After the enthusiastic young man in the phone shop, had tried without success to sell me all manner of the latest gadgets I bought a Siemens A50 for £59.99. This included the phone, user book, battery charger and £1.00 starter credit. I found the user book very helpful and informative, it is written in plain English and has illustrations to help you understand better. The phone its self is quite attractive in dark blue and white with an easy to read screen, the screen is quite large enough to read easily, not a colour one but I don?t need a colour one anyway. The phone is quite small at approximately 4 inches long so it fits nicely into my handbag. It got quite...

Natty Phone with cartoon ducks

Advantages: Stays charged for 5 days
Disadvantages: only basic features

...I bought a phone a Siemens A50 phone just before Christmas 2003. I did so as I had no home phone and I so wanted a mobile, but one without a monthly rip off charge. Previously I had been charged mad money on my Barclaycard for a phone I had never used much £15 a month for two phone calls! This Siemens A50 was the cheapest in Woolworths at the time it was £60 so I decided on it. It comes in a nice little box with a charger a small one which was a surprise considering the size of previous chargers I had had. Also full instructions are included. You have to phone up the head office to have the phone switched on and then it is away you go. I also went for the call overseas option. When over seas you can ask to have the phone connected to a local service. The battery life I have found is far better than any of my previous phones...
