ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
Review of ThinkCentre S50 8183 - P4 2.8 GHz by

Advantages: Slimline, Well Featured, Looks Good
Disadvantages: No Firewire, Not thought out properly
...ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
IBM’s range of workstations have always been backed up with a long history, after all shouldn’t IBM be the experts, they did “invent” the PC after all! IBM’s ThinkCentre range represents IBM’s mid-range business workstations, enough power and multimedia capabilities to run the top end office and productivity, whilst keeping costs down to make the systems as affordable as possible. A hidden but equally important part of the ThinkCentres resides inside the computer and installed on the hard drives, these discrete design decisions and software packages that are shipped with the machines. I have recently installed 86 IBM ThinkCentre S50’s at work; this review is my attempt to distil my experiences into words.

A snazzy little number
Review of LG U8138 by
ayanayuk
Advantages: Good screens, decent camera, good reception and features
Disadvantages: Sometimes fiddly to use, no external memory, can't upload you own applications (or can you?)
...I've had a mobile for around 8 years now. I've also had about 16 phones and all bar three of them have been Nokias. I like Nokia because I've kind of got used to it, but when my fiancée decided to get me a new mobile for my birthday this year she chose the LG 8138 for me. She has the older model which is the 8110 and I'd had a play around with that and I liked it so I wasn't too concerned. OK it wasn't Nokia, but then again a change is as good as a rest apparently.
The phone design is clamshell type thats in silver with a blue fascia on it. Disappointingly you can't get any other colour scheme. I'd have liked to have been able to get a different colour fascia, maybe black or a deep grey as I like those colours with silver (my engagement ring is silver with a deep grey imprint on it), but alas I can't. Not a big setback, just...

Latest LG phone - fab or fad????
Review of LG U8138 by
jenlaw
Advantages: looks good, most up to date LG phone on the 3 network
Disadvantages: takes a while to discover all the features
...The LG 8138 is the latest phone to be offered on the 3 network. It boasts a stylish silver flip top style handset and is pocket size so you can take it everywhere with you and catch snapshots at the click of a button.
LOOKS
This is my kind of phone. Silver base handset with the flip top illustrating a light blue colour. Measuring 4.8 cm width and a length of 9.5 cm with a depth of 2.5 cm the phone easily fits into your pocket and is a contemporary design which is eye catching.
The LG 8138 boasts a colour front screen so you can store your favourite pictures on the front of your phone and these can be different from the colour photo that you can store on the screen inside your phone.
FEATURES
1. Camera
The camera is a swivel style on the top of your phone and there are 3 quality grades that you are offered. I think...

Extremely Over Priced PC
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by
saraharcher
Advantages: The case dosn't look too bad
Disadvantages: Addequate but outdated CPU
...significantly lower than Lenovo is 3Ghz upwards. Quite how the ThinkCentre A55 hopes to even try to compete with other manufacturers offering 3-4Ghz CPU's with a price tag of around £50 less is somewhat of a mystery. Having said that, as my mate has proven with flying colours.."there is one born every minute"
The memory installed is on a par with most budget PC's and is supplied with 512Mb DDR II SDRAM. Thankfully memory these days is a relatively cheap upgrade option.
The hard drive installed again is somewhat below acceptable for the price tag. The A55 is supplied with an 80Gb hard drive. Although this size of drive is acceptable, for £400 you would expect something around 100 -120Gb in size.
The graphics card is on-board as is the norm with all budget PC's. The graphics memory is shared with the PC's RAM and is adjustable via the PC...

THINK REALLY
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by
packerlist
Advantages: very good processor with unique vast features.
Disadvantages: the flat screen looks too fragile.
...Well I have to come with the review of PC computer. Lenevo think center is a brand of computer that never made waves in the computer market. But I decided to give it a try by buying it and wanted to get rid of the popular dell, IBM and apple computers for some time.
Well the lenovo think center computer has proved to be a bit different. Some features actually made me to purchase the product and are features like the administrator password, power on password, booting without mouse and key board, hard drive I/O control, usb control, serial port I/O control, boss Sequence control and diskette I/O control. These are the features that really made me to splash at about £250.60 on it.
The lenovo thinkcentre A55 9265 Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz computer has host of unique think vantage technologies at competitive price.
The processor...

How exciting, new Nokia phone!
Review of Nokia 6280 by
tommygirl3
Advantages: Cheap upgrade, expandable memory, bluetooth
Disadvantages: Avg battery life, filmsy case, screen blanks out occasionally
...Originally I was on 3 with an LG U8138, but 9 months into my 12 month contract, they contacted me offering me an upgrade (already!) plus 9 months half price line rental. So I jumped at the chance.
I was given a variety of rubbish phones to choose from for my upgrade phone, of which I considered the Motorola V3x and the Nokia 6280. In the end I chose the Nokia, simply because of it's expandable memoery and 2mp camara.
The first phone arrived, in all it's shiny glory... I ripped the box open and started to play with the functions. Only to discover that memory card (it's a mini SD card) was not being recognised by the phone. I rung 3, who directed me to my local 3 sotre in Oxford Str. They said this was a common problem with the phone. So I asked for a replacement, however the store said because I got my Nokia over the phone, it...

Dorothy; a stag; and Denis Law?
Review of The Dorothy Clive Garden, Staffordshire by
The-Operator
Advantages: Relatively cheap, good disabled access
Disadvantages: Expensive cake!
...our handiwork, we’ll have to make do with admiring someone else’s. A few weeks ago in late April, we happened upon a little local gem, hidden away alongside the A51 in north Shropshire. We’d driven past the sign for the Dorothy Clive Gardens many times before but never been in. Then a friend went and told us we must go. We certainly didn’t regret it.
The garden grew out of one man’s desire to give his ailing wife a change of scenery. Colonel Harry Clive, local dignitary and businessman, started to clear the disused quarry above his house in 1940. Around half a mile of paths were eventually hacked out through the brambles between the stands of oaks, birch and scots pine now colonising the redundant sandstone workings. With the help of knowledgeable friends, the quarry was gradually planted up. Its sheltered and shady aspect was ideal...

WHERE 7 IS FAR FROM A LUCKY NUMBER!
Review of Innkeeper's Lodge Lichfield, Stafford by
RICHADA
Advantages: Location. Ready made house of horrors set?
Disadvantages: Where do I start?
...at the very heart of the UK motorway network.
Lichfield itself is a small city of some merit, many years ago I spent a day here as a tourist, mostly admiring the superb cathedral, which is but a five minute drive away from the Lodge.
The Lodge is located 1.3 miles north of the city centre.
FIRST IMPRESSIONS 1 / 10
Our first impressions were entirely unfavourable. It was 4.50pm as we headed south on the busy A51, the main road from Stafford to Lichfield. The website booking confirmation gave us accurate directions, backed up by our own GPS system.
All well and good, except that when we arrived at our destination the Innkeeper's Lodge was nowhere in sight. Fortunately the traffic lights at the junction of the A51 and Lichfield eastern by-pass turned red in front of us. In the dark, on the other side of the junction we spotted a pub...

Three me from this madness (again?!?)
Review of 3 VideoTalk 500 12 Month by
ayanayuk
Advantages: 500 mins is good unless you're a mobile junkie, decent quality calls
Disadvantages: Coverage isn' brilliant, customer servives are foreigners again!!!
...I swore, after my horrendous experience with their PAYG service (see my op), that I'd never go with 3 again. Then when my contract was up for renewal in March my fiancée made a rather generous offer to get me a contract for my birthday. I wanted to fo back with O2 as I've never had any real problems and I like the fact they have British call centres. Anyway I wasn't going to be footing the bill so she signed me up to the VideoTalk 500 tarriff. For this you get 500 free cross network minutes and 100 free texts and as I'm not really a mobile junkie this was a decent deal. The phone I chose with it was a LG 8138 (my fiancée has the LG 8110 and it has the same cables and uses the same software to synch with the PC so it made sense for simplicity's sake). The cost for this was £35 a month, but as most of the people I know...
