ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
Review of ThinkCentre S50 8183 - P4 2.8 GHz by  RichardSlater

Advantages: Slimline, Well Featured, Looks Good
Disadvantages: No Firewire, Not thought out properly

...ThinkCentre... Think Smarter IBM’s range of workstations have always been backed up with a long history, after all shouldn’t IBM be the experts, they did “invent” the PC after all! IBM’s ThinkCentre range represents IBM’s mid-range business workstations, enough power and multimedia capabilities to run the top end office and productivity, whilst keeping costs down to make the systems as affordable as possible. A hidden but equally important part of the ThinkCentres resides inside the computer and installed on the hard drives, these discrete design decisions and software packages that are shipped with the machines. I have recently installed 86 IBM ThinkCentre S50’s at work; this review is my attempt to distil my experiences into words. WHATS IN THE BOX? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ When the box arrives at your door, or in my case three... Read review

Like a Soldier on a Mission!!☺
Review of Mission m51 by  jedi_kickass

Advantages: Cost Effective (£300) , Good Engineering, Taut & Tuneful Bass, Good sound quality, Good Build Quality, Easy installation.
Disadvantages: Sounds hard when ill-matched & fed bad recordings

...***MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. [5/5*** I had been to an AV Expo a year ago & that’s where I saw the m51& the m50. I found the m51 to be better than m50. And at £300 the kind of sound it makes is impressive. They come in Beech , Rosewood & Graphite Black finishes. The best I liked was the Graphite Black finish. Looked really classy. You can see that in the pic I have given below. ***SOUND QUALITY. [4/5]*** The m51’s sound in all ways much better than the m50’s. The m51’s have tight bass, kinda gut wrenching at times with a good hall effect & depth with well sprinkled moisture. Ideal for both Movies & as a hi-fi. The frequency response is 58Hz to 20kHz as compared to the 64Hz to 20kHz of the m50’s. That means you get deeper bass in the m51’s. The soundstage is pretty wide if not extremely... Read review

Take It To Heart...
Review of Polar M21/M51 Heart Rate Monitors by  angeelu

Advantages: Great motivational tool, Easy to Use, Many functions, Comfortable to wear, Reputable brand, Long lasting
Disadvantages: Cost of initial outlay

...pace. In Polar's words: "A Polar heart rate monitor will act as your ideal training partner, giving you feedback every time you exercise, and motivating you to keep going". The HRM's themselves come in the form of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter is an elasticated belt that you wear just underneath the chest muscles (just under your bra if you're a woman). The receiver looks like a watch and is worn as such. The M51 ~~~~~~~~ The HRM I have recently started to use is the M51 (for info - this has exactly the same features as the M52 only has a different looking watch, which is blue as opposed to grey). This is a fairly middle of the range HRM for someone who does exercise of some form on a regular basis (for example going to the gym 3 or more times a week). The watch itself is very comfortable to wear. It... Read review

Much better than a Samsung mobile!
Review of Samsung LE26M51 by  toxicreviewer

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, good audio, easy to install, widescreen
Disadvantages: Expensive and basic remote control

...When the time came to replace our bedroom television I was torn between a plasma screen, another cheaper regular television with a large back, or a LCD television that I had heard fantastic reviews of, and had indeed seen on offer. After some investigation and after seeing the Samsung LE26M51 up close and personal at my friends house I decided that I would purchase a LCD screen and more investigations on where to purchase one followed. Eventually I bought the same model as my friend, the LE26M51 costing £699.99 from Harrods in Knightsbridge. The television has a 26 inch widescreen display. The actual television dimensions are 47.6cm in height and 67.8cm wide. There are no official dimensions for the width, but my trusty tape measure informs me that the display unit is only 6cm wide at the top and the base unit/stand is only 11cm... Read review

Beats gripping the handlebars
Review of Polar M21/M51 Heart Rate Monitors by  mcooper

Advantages: See how you're doing with a reliable, neat piece of kit
Disadvantages: Sometimes gets confused, fiddly to start with

...limits for your training zone - the literature supplied will show you how this works (and whole books have been written on the subject) or you can take a suggested figure. The "Last exercise file" feature shows your exercise date, exercise time, time in your "training zone" your average heart rate, an estimate of your fat consumption as a percentage of the calories burned, and total exercise time. In addition to the heart rate functions you get a watch, alarm, calendar and stopwatch. The M51 adds some more functions to the list, including a fitness test which you can run first thing in the morning. It takes your heart rate at rest (before you get out of bed!) and looks at how much it varies over a few minutes - you tell it your age, weight and height and it comes up with an index figure, supposedly showing how fit you are. Whether you... Read review

Getting into the Zone with my best gym buddy
Review of Polar M21/M51 Heart Rate Monitors by  Cazz

Advantages: monitors calories burned as well as heart rate
Disadvantages: expensive!

..., bikes etc will pick up your rate. And as the transmitter is coded, rather than random, you know it is picking up YOUR heart rate rather than that of the marathon runner in training on the next machine. All in all this clever little gadget got my vote, despite the pricetag. Polar do make more expensive monitors, the M51 and M71, but the main advantages of these seemed to be the ability to hold recorded data for more than one user, which wasn’t a requirement for me. If you’re planning to share your monitor with a real-life gym buddy then the three-figure asking price might be worth splitting between you (but you’ll want to get your own chest straps however great mates you are!) Now if you are following a calorie-controlled weight loss diet you know how bloody difficult and restrictive it can be, once you’ve... Read review

Living with the Beast
Review of Samsung LE 46 M 51 B by  ukdog

Advantages: The size!!
Disadvantages: The Size!!

...Samsung is not a brand that is generally recognised by the average TV buyer as been particulary trendy or stylish, most would plumb for a Bravia or Viera. The R71 and R72 models that adorned high street electrical shops did a lot to change that, as did the xbox 360 consoles displaying its HD content on the R72's in the front of all retail shops. Born from the success of the LExx R72 models came the Milano range, and the one this revew is about, the LE46M51B. the 1st thing that strickes you about this set is the size, at 46 inches, when launched and even after 3 months viewing, this set is HUGE! I bought the set soon before christmas to watch the festivities on and may have been dissapointed by the broadcasters content, but even the dullest programs become more life like at this size, Imagine the queens speech, it was like she... Extremely Over Priced PC
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by  saraharcher

Advantages: The case dosn't look too bad
Disadvantages: Addequate but outdated CPU

...significantly lower than Lenovo is 3Ghz upwards. Quite how the ThinkCentre A55 hopes to even try to compete with other manufacturers offering 3-4Ghz CPU's with a price tag of around £50 less is somewhat of a mystery. Having said that, as my mate has proven with flying colours.."there is one born every minute" The memory installed is on a par with most budget PC's and is supplied with 512Mb DDR II SDRAM. Thankfully memory these days is a relatively cheap upgrade option. The hard drive installed again is somewhat below acceptable for the price tag. The A55 is supplied with an 80Gb hard drive. Although this size of drive is acceptable, for £400 you would expect something around 100 -120Gb in size. The graphics card is on-board as is the norm with all budget PC's. The graphics memory is shared with the PC's RAM and is adjustable via the PC... Read review

THINK REALLY
Review of Lenovo ThinkCentre A55 9265 - Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz by  packerlist

Advantages: very good processor with unique vast features.
Disadvantages: the flat screen looks too fragile.

...Well I have to come with the review of PC computer. Lenevo think center is a brand of computer that never made waves in the computer market. But I decided to give it a try by buying it and wanted to get rid of the popular dell, IBM and apple computers for some time. Well the lenovo think center computer has proved to be a bit different. Some features actually made me to purchase the product and are features like the administrator password, power on password, booting without mouse and key board, hard drive I/O control, usb control, serial port I/O control, boss Sequence control and diskette I/O control. These are the features that really made me to splash at about £250.60 on it. The lenovo thinkcentre A55 9265 Pentium D 915 2.8 GHz computer has host of unique think vantage technologies at competitive price. The processor... Read review
