HP 530 - Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT
Review of HP 530 - Core Duo T2050 1.6 GHz - 15.4" TFT by
sunderlandcomputers
Advantages: Cost, Reliability, Battery Life, WIFI Range
Disadvantages: Display not best, memory - not enough
...So what's it got and is it worth it.
My 530 come with Vista Home Basic 32 pre-installed with the option of the Business 32 version for a little extra. It's powered by an IntelCore Due T2050 processor at 1.6GHz with 2MB level 2 cache and 533MHz FSB. The memory let's it down at only 512Mb, which struggles to keep up woth the demand of Vista.
The good news is that the memory can be upgraded to up to 2Gb, however we opted to trash Vista in favour of our ol favourite Windows XP Home.
Storage is a reasonable 80Gb SATA Hard Disk Drive and a combi DVD/CD RW drive wth double layer capability allows for essential backups, and writing speeds that won't keep you waiting.
The screen is 15.4 inches with WXGA Brightview technology.
There is a wired network adaptor as well as a wireless connection via a Broadcom 802.11 b/g, allowing...

Siemens M55 - Total Disappointment
Review of Siemens M55 by
alisarialtun
Advantages: can be used as a data modem
Disadvantages: bad buttons, can't change the case, short battery life, small memory, slow processing
...cases. It gets jammed many times. When my phone was just 6 months old the keys in the middle (arrow,2,5,8,0) stopped functioning for a few days.
Another thing: If you accidently drop your battery or if you take the battery out while it is shutting down, you will lose all the data in your adress book. It happened to me a few times in 3 years and you can even lose some of your saved messages too so, save your adress book and messages into your simcard if you are planning to use this product.
Also the battery life is too short I think. I could use the same battery for about 8 months only.
I think there are much better choices for the same price. Siemens
And when compared to other phones, message sending and other functions are not kept as easiest.
It has a very small storage capacity (2MB) and you can't add any memories.

ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
Review of ThinkCentre S50 8183 - P4 2.8 GHz by
RichardSlater
Advantages: Slimline, Well Featured, Looks Good
Disadvantages: No Firewire, Not thought out properly
...ThinkCentre... Think Smarter
IBM’s range of workstations have always been backed up with a long history, after all shouldn’t IBM be the experts, they did “invent” the PC after all! IBM’s ThinkCentre range represents IBM’s mid-range business workstations, enough power and multimedia capabilities to run the top end office and productivity, whilst keeping costs down to make the systems as affordable as possible. A hidden but equally important part of the ThinkCentres resides inside the computer and installed on the hard drives, these discrete design decisions and software packages that are shipped with the machines. I have recently installed 86 IBM ThinkCentre S50’s at work; this review is my attempt to distil my experiences into words.

Worth The Investment
Review of Acer Aspire 7112WSMi - Celeron M 420 1.6 GHz - 17" TFT by
HarryCringle
Advantages: Good value reliable plenty of features
Disadvantages: Battery life not great, Camera not great
...for anyone wishing to use the laptop for instance on a long train journey.
MY OPINION
A very good laptop for the money. The display is exceptional for price, and the laptops performs well. The downsides are the poor battery life and the somewhat tacky camera fitted. Over-all if I were to say whether I would recommend this laptop, I would say....
YES!!!!!

Acer Travelmate 2414WLMi
Review of Acer TravelMate 2414LMi - Celeron M 380 1.6 GHz - 15" TFT by
sullyrev
Advantages: Excellent Price, Good Design
Disadvantages: A little slow
...--
We didn't read before buying it that it has bluetooth build in, plus it has a build in mic which we have tested on a VOIP call and this seems good quality.
-- Screen --
Like I said it has a 15" screen which has a better viewing angle than most, I am able to see the screen from and angle of getting close to 180 degrees. This is impressive for a laptop screen in my opinion.
-- Speed --
I know it only has 1.6Ghz processor but it is not all about the number (1.6). I use another laptop which is 1.8 Ghz and it seems A LOT faster than this 1.6. The only reason I can think of for this is that the 1.8Ghz laltop has 512MB of RAM and the processor is a Pentium M rather than the Acer's Celeron (which are known to be a lot slower).
When the laptop was first run it appeared to be slower than it is becasuse of all the programs Acer have...

A Budget Giant
Review of Acer TravelMate 2414LMi - Celeron M 380 1.6 GHz - 15" TFT by
ultras67
Advantages: Makes you think you have more for your money, easy to use
Disadvantages: Keyboard feeling.
...Following on from my last two Acer laptops, when my mother wanted a budget laptop to buy, Acer was one of the names that immediately sprang to mind.
Fortunately that week Comet had a large advert in the newspapers that meant she could buy this model for only £299. One quick car journey later and the credit card was handed over and a shiny new cardboard box containing the Travelmate 2414WLMi was given back in exchange.
BORING BIT ALERT!!!

A good business laptop, at a price...
Review of Toshiba Tecra M2 - Pentium M 725 1.6 GHz - 14.1" TFT by
stevetwatson
Advantages: Lightweight, In-Built Wireless
Disadvantages: Keyboard, Price, only 2 USB ports
...The Toshiba Tecra M2 is aimed squarely at the business market (I'm writing this review from my work Tecra laptop!) and is a good, if not brilliant, option for the mobile business worker. The 1.6Ghz processor, 512MB memory and 40GB hard drive (on the standard model) aren't going to give you the ultimate laptop gaming experience, but this machine is aimed squarely at the business market.
For business users the main benefits are the in-built Centrino mobile processor, which avoids the need for any fiddly USB or PCMCIA card wireless add-ons and the lightweight design which makes this model particularly suitable for the busy business exec who regularly works away from the office.
The standard OS build is Windows XP Professional Edition. On top of the standard XP utilities, Toshiba have bundled some useful tools included a wireless...
