Strong in any way
Review of ThinkPad T20 2647 - PIII 700 MHz - 14.1" TFT by  fjuk

Advantages: Silence, Sturdiness
Disadvantages: Swapable drives, all drivers needed

...The IBM T20 Thinkpad is the perfect choice for the non-gaming experience. I should say that you will find everything you need in this machine, unless you are in to firewire devices. As an example I should mention the Ultrabay to which you can even get a DVD-RAM drive (which by now is the newest technology). However. Never laptops are fitted with USB2 (faster version of USB) and some of them Pentium-M processors (longer battery life). The T20 runs perfectly with Windows XP, but you will have to install all drivers from IBM - especially the power management drivers, since you elseway will not be sure to return properly from stand-by mode. The rather old 440-chipset is running at it's best, and the speedstep is fully functional (that is: The PC uses the exact amount of CPU-power needed). Though the IBM TP X-series are way more... Lenova ThinkPad R61i 7650 Review
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R61i 7650 - Pentium Dual Core T2310 1.46 GHz - 15.4" TFT by  MaximumFear

Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality.
Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.

...I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics. I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it comes with a media card reader was very useful. This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part. The R61 has pretty much all the ports... Read review

Think Smart, ThinkPad
Review of Lenovo ThinkPad R60e 0657 - Core Duo T2300E 1.66 GHz - 15" TFT by  Pyrokeet

Advantages: many unique features, robust, trustworthy
Disadvantages: more expensive than some brands

...I bought this laptop on insurance, as my previous ThinkPad was stolen and I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to buy a different brand. In my opinion, the Lenovo ThinkPad is the best laptop you could possibly buy for all-round performance, reliability, and features, but I will endeavour to make this review as unbiased as possible, and I will split it into different sections for easy reading. LOOKS/DESIGN We all know looks do matter, and the ThinkPad is nothing if not distinctive in design. Unusually amongst modern laptops, the ThinkPad does not have sleek silver curves everywhere. Instead, it is a matt black cuboid, with a nice texture. Some people may not prefer this, as I have been told "It looks like it's from the 80s", but the understatedness of the design is much less showy than most modern laptops, suggesting... Read review

Thinking of a Thinkpad?
Review of ThinkPad T40p 2373 - Pentium M 1.6 GHz - 14.1" TFT by  nattinoo1970

Advantages: Light, flat and compact
Disadvantages: Being Black

...I had wanted a laptop for years but never had the courage to actually take the final step of buying one. Even after looking at countless different brands and models I still chose a desktop PC! At a new job I was given a Thinkpad T43. I found it incredibly easy to use, and as I was splitting my time between the office and home was having to carry it around with me. After months of using the laptop my desktop PC at home died and I decided to try and replace it with a Thinkpad. Because I was on a restricted budget and couldn't afford a new laptop I decided to see what was available second-hand. I was overjoyed to find a company on ebay that sells refurbished Thinkpads and bought mine a good couple of months ago. So I now have 2 laptops to use - 1 for work and 1 for personal use. The Thinkpads are light for a laptop, very flat... Read review

AT700 - The Choice of Pro's!
Review of Yonex Armortec 700 Badminton Racket by  JaYmEZ

Advantages: Powerfull, excellent for singles
Disadvantages: Cost, head heavy, not so great for doubles play.

...SCROLL TO THE BOTTOM FOR THE SIMPLE ROUND UP FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE BASIC KNOWLEDGE OF BADMINTON - JUST ADDED IT ! Yonex - Manufacturer Armortec 700 - Model Armortec Series (AT) - Range This is a badminton racket before we start looking at anything, and being honest its for mainly advanced singles players, and used almost exclusively by a lot of international players.. If you are new to badminton ill try to explain the technical jargon as best I can, but the first things you will need to know is that Yonex are the Microsoft of the badminton world. The current range of Armortec rackets contains the AT800Offensive, AT800Defensive, AT700 (discontinued but still available) AT500, AT300 and AT150 being the lowest, cheapest and thus most budget of the range. The AT700 on the other hand being one of the top of the range... Read review

Thinkpad, now that's a thought!
Review of ThinkPad T20 2647 - PIII 650 MHz - 13.3" TFT by  a_t_b321

Advantages: Lightweight, protable, good for all business type applications
Disadvantages: poor stock specification, gets a little warm on your legs!

...I purchased my Thinkpad T20 second hand for around £300. For this money, I got the original specification machine fitted with a CDRW/DVD drive, which is an optional extra for the later models. With the ultrabay 2000, it is possible to use a range of hardware, without having to re-boot the system. Optical drives, hard disk drives and batteries are some of the possibilities to name a few. These all work at lightning speed and are so simple to change between. The lightweight design, topped good performance are impressive. The screen is 13.3 inches and is a good size and resolution for a small laptop. It comes with all the ports for network, modem, parallel and com ports, 2 PCMCIA slots and a singe USB slot. It also has a mouse and external monitor port, Infra-red port, built in speakers of a good quality for a laptop and line in... Read review

The IBM ThinkPad 240 - A sub-£200 gem?
Review of ThinkPad 240 C 300 MHz - 10.4" TFT by  mattyprice4004

Advantages: Small size, Lights, Looks smart!
Disadvantages: Some say it looks bland, Small size limits functionality

...Watching the ICT market depresses me. Only a couple of short years ago I invested in the biggest desktop hard disk drive I could ever find - A roomy 120GB Seagate. Now we are up to 750GB, yet these cost only half of what I paid for my drive. The same is the story with the ThinkPad 240 - I remember when these were £1,699 brand new. Luckily I never bought one new, but I did receive one second hand a few months ago. This is probably my first review where I have a few serious issues with a product, as the 240 did leave a lot to be desired. But let's start with what's good. The first thing that will attract a lot of potential buyers to this laptop is it's diminutive size. It truly is amazing how IBM have managed to squeeze a full laptop into such a small case. The screen has a resolution of 800x600 pixels, which is enough for office... Read review

Sony RDX-700 CD receiver
Review of Sony RXD700 by  marais

Advantages: Elegant, classic and minimalistic design: A beauty
Disadvantages: No CD-Text, plastic CD door

...for Sony. Another reason might be the champagne color, reminescent of the classic Esprit series, but difficult to combine with other devices in black or silver. There are two things I dislike - or maybe that's too strong a word, I should say, appreciate less - about the RXD-700: The CD player door is of simple plastic (as opposed to the rest of the frontplate, including the bottom latch hiding the many small buttons), and the player lacks CD-Text, although the VFD display could make perfectly good use of that (and does so for all the RDS services!). A nice touch of the unit is its built-in clock, which also serves as an alarm. For many years, the RXD- 700 was my alarm clock! And did I mention that the unit has a nice remote-control, with a motor driving the volume knob? Time will give me reason: The RXD-700 merits to be considered... Read review

Laptop Heaven
Review of ThinkPad T20 PIII 750 MHz - 14.1" TFT by  mc_bubba

Advantages: Titanium covers, light, fast.
Disadvantages: Burns a hole in your wallet, looks black and dull.

.... Other COOL features -For easy access to the Internet, the ThinkPad has the ThinkPad button. All it takes is a push of a button explore the web. -Its UltraPort connector allows the ThinkPad to support other hardware such as cameras, etc. As you can see, IBM has done an astounding job with the ThinkPad T20 and the rest of the T series. However, the titanium composite covers contribute to its high cost of £2200. However, if you are a businessmen or women, you will love this feature.... Read review
