Think Thinkpad
Advantages: Speedy, Robust, Good graphics card, Connectivity
Disadvantages: Not the prettiest of designs, Annoying keyboard layout w/ no Windows key and Fn/Ctrl key placement
...INTRODUCTION
I bought myself a used IBM / Lenovo Thinkpad T41 for £129 and although it's a pretty old machine (probably from 2004) and fairly low spec by today's standards, I still feel it was a bargain. This was from Cash Converters.
DESIGN
The machine, like all IBM (now made by Lenovo) notebooks are intended for business users and so the design is not particularly sleek but instead, have a very 'professional' look to them. They all seem to be black with a little bit of red on the button and either a red or blue knob for controlling the mouse pointer. Some people think they're on the ugly side but I actually quite like the look of the Thinkpads. I've noticed that all IBM / Lenovo Thinkpads look alike and have the same body, keyboard and use the same smooth black matte material rather than plastic that most other...

Lenova ThinkPad R61i 7650 Review
Advantages: Easy to use, runs smoothly, good battery life and high quality.
Disadvantages: Some probelms with the wireless adapter.
...I have owned several different ThinkPad's over the years. I have enjoyed them all and found them to be extremely useful and reliable. I knew that I wanted a decent quality portable laptop that would be suitable for all the basics.
I have been using the laptop mainly for office related items such as documents and spreadsheets but have also been using it to store and edit photographs and videos. So far I have had no problems and that fact that it comes with a media card reader was very useful.
This version of the ThinkPad is pretty similar to the rest of the laptops in the series. There is little to no distortion with the screen and it is fairly bright and gives a high quality picture. I couldn't find any problems with the laptop as a whole, nothing is loose or flex's for the most part.
The R61 has pretty much all the ports...

Think Smart, ThinkPad
Advantages: many unique features, robust, trustworthy
Disadvantages: more expensive than some brands
...I bought this laptop on insurance, as my previous ThinkPad was stolen and I loved it so much that I couldn't bear to buy a different brand.
In my opinion, the Lenovo ThinkPad is the best laptop you could possibly buy for all-round performance, reliability, and features, but I will endeavour to make this review as unbiased as possible, and I will split it into different sections for easy reading.
LOOKS/DESIGN
We all know looks do matter, and the ThinkPad is nothing if not distinctive in design.
Unusually amongst modern laptops, the ThinkPad does not have sleek silver curves everywhere. Instead, it is a matt black cuboid, with a nice texture. Some people may not prefer this, as I have been told "It looks like it's from the 80s", but the understatedness of the design is much less showy than most modern laptops, suggesting there is...

The Legend of Thinkpad
Advantages: Build Quility, Thinkpad Features, Good Performance.
Disadvantages: Not flashy, slightly heavy/bulky
...I have so far been using this notebook for around 4 months. Here are my experiences:
Speed- I use this computer for word processing, internet-surfing, email, music, and running an eBay business. I find this laptop to be more than adequate for these tasks. If running Windows XP/Vista make sure you keep your drive defragmented- this helps a lot.
Look+Feel- This is, of course, what makes thinkpads legendary. The keyboard is simply the best I have ever used. It strikes the perfect balance between clunky and too light. High quality plastic is used throughout, as you would expect, and the screen has plenty of protection behind it. Ways to navigate include both a touchpad and trackpoint, although I would recommend a mouse for long periods of use.
Capacity- The 120GB is more than enough for my needs, although users with huge, lossless...

Remington R320 R3 Titanium Series
Advantages: A close shave and good quality shaver with Titanium blades
Disadvantages: No charge indicator
...Remington R320 R3 Titanium Series Rotary Shaver - Designed by BMW Group DesignworksUSA
I quote
"Now this product will shave you closer than a blade or your money back" wasn't that the claim of Victor Kyam in the 80's well he must have been talking about this shaver. Now having been a wet shave fan for the past twenty five years and after having had some bad experiances with a variety of dry shavers, I thought that the wet razor Gillette Mach 3 was the best thing since sliced bread. NOW ALL THAT'S CHANGED.......
Oh look a birthday present from my mother and its a new shaver and considering I have had many a row with my mother when I lived with her over the mess with shaving foam on the mirror she should have known I used a wet shave. Anyway enough of my mothers problems and back to this shaver, I decided that at least I...

R51 lightening
Advantages: :ight and strong
Disadvantages: Old design style
...I have to procure laptops at work. The main thing that I look for is a good high quality resolution. Problem is that you have top balance this against cost. The R51 1829 was the one for me. It has now seen end of life as we know it, replaced by an R52 version.
To start with the R51 cost around £1100 to but. With your money you get the following
Resolution: 1450*1028
Pentium M: 1.8GHz
512MB RAM (with spare slot for expansion)
128MB Graphics
Built in Bluetooth, wireless and firewire
USB ports
DVD RW
The resolution at 1450 *1028 is not half bad at all. You can get the best applications up on he screen without having to scroll around to find what your looking for.
The Pentium M 1.8 may not be the fastest but combined with the other components it is more than quick for those business applications.
512MB of RAM come as...

Lenovo R61I is amazing!
Advantages: This comes with bluetooth, 1GB per sec. wifi card, and cd dvd r&rw drive.
Disadvantages: The power management center goofs up some, The internal coolant system could use work.
...I used to have tons of problems with computers, big surprise! I have tried all of the major brands like Compaq, Acer, Dell, E-Machine, HP, etc. These have all been desktops. After shopping around I found the best deal I could possibly find. The Lenovo R61I, It had all the features I could think of that I would ever need with a price I could afford! My only concern was the performance that it could have. I figured with all the features there had to be some draw back. I powered up the display and begun running random applications individually and several at a time. There was a split second lag however nothing to be worried about. I have had a few problems with this but all of my problems I had with this machine equal up to less than 1% of the problems I had with my other computers. In the rare event that you do have a problem you can just...

Best series ever of this amazing show
Advantages: characters
Disadvantages: none
...Five or six years ago, I was addicted to ER. I wanted the DVDs so bad, but there was only one way of getting them in Region 2 format, which was to import them from Japan. They cost £80 a series, and the tax was £20, so it was £100 investment. I didn't have enough to buy them all, so I could only afford one series; I bought series 5.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
This long running US TV show follows the adventures of the ER (that's A&E here in the UK) in a US hospital. The show is award winning, and can be found in the UK on Channel 4. Each episode developed the back stories of the main characters, whilst including a range of medical scenarios to be dealt with.
ABOUT SERIES 5:
Without a doubt, this is the best season of ER ever. It is incredibly well written, with a terrible and poignant major storyline. These were the glory years for ER...

Lens Problems on R series Caplios
Advantages: Features, looks, lens zoom range
Disadvantages: Reliability
...I've just sent my daughters back for repair just 9 months after buying it. The lens has jammed permanently open with the motor making nasty grinding noises & no image. Looking on the web, this seems be a very common problem with R4-R7 cameras with at least 11 others returning units for repair - often just after the waranty with big repair bills - upto 2/3 the value of the camera. Even after repairs, the problem seems to re-occur. Buyers beware! I think Ricoh have pushed the lens/body ratio a bit too far to the point of serously affecting reliability. My daughter was really upset as it failed 1/3 way into her holiday & it was her pride & joy - she really looked after it! Won't buy a Ricoh camera again - when you spend £170 on a camera you expect it to last longer than 9 months!...
